I am so happy with the entire experience! From the moment I stepped foot into Interlude Dartmouth, I was met with pleasant smiling faces, patience; I was asked if I had been there before; if I knew where to go. I was walked all the way to the waiting area on the second floor! Then was comfortably waiting just a few minutes before I was brought to a room. Bella thoroughly discussed lashes with me to make sure she knew exactly what result I was looking for! I can’t wait to come back for a lash extension fill!

PSA for bridal parties, hair is fine to get done here, Actually I recommend it. Becky and Rachel were amazing and fast but avoid makeup at all costs. All 4 bridesmaids re-did our makeup at home. Thankfully we had time to run to Shoppers and get products to redo it ourselves but after paying for the services too, it definitely wasn’t cheap. The bride looked decent but she had a different MUA than the bridesmaids. All the bridesmaids makeup got progressively worse to the point the last one just decided to pick products and do her makeup herself. The MUA was so friendly at the beginning to my friend and I, then we went back at the end and she was very condescending to our other friend that we all looked at each other shocked that it was the same person. I don’t think the spa should have given her 4 clients back to back because she was complaining about it in front of us and how she was missing break and it clearly showed in the work as we progressed. They don’t make their job easy either because they don’t have basic things like brown eyeliner, colour corrector or concealer. I asked to get concealer and she said it was already on. The MUA also mentioned the makeup that they use isn’t the best, she only likes 1-2 products from it like the highlighter or something so you can imagine how reassuring that was. If you’re a medium or darker skin tone just don’t bother trying, idk what they’re doing in 2023 but I couldn’t even ask to fix my makeup because the main problem was the shade range, even after I brought my own foundation. I was really trying to blame the looks on brand of makeup they use but after the Eyeliner looked like crayon squiggles floating above the lash line on some of us and some wings so long they were halfway to our hairline it was unfortunately more than that.

I really enjoyed my massage and would consider having Jennifer put me in my relaxing place

Everyone is so kind and is very well versed in what they do! Best spa I have ever been to and couldn't recommend it enough!

A friend of mine went there the other day and for context has very naturally curly hair. She was supposedly booked with a stylist who knew how to cut and style curly hair, but ended up getting it cut way shorter than what she had asked for, because the stylist had not taken into account her curly hair would shrink.
The service was supposedly great and the staff were friendly, but had also charged her more than usual for a cut that wasn't what she had asked for.
Overall not the worst experience, but
if you have curly hair show a longer refrence picture than what you actually want.

Incredible experience! We spent the day at the spa for a work event and the staff at interlude were so friendly and accommodating. They always had a smile on their face and were so nice to help us if we needed anything. I had the Body Silk treatment by Leah and the Sea C facial by Amanda and they were both so lovely! They made me feel very relaxed and comfortable the whole time. Amazing job team at Interlude!:)

Lack of professionalism, messed up hair colour, would not return my calls, implied I was at fault somehow; did not have good experiences on most occasions.

My favorite spa hands down. Ultimate in relaxation and making you feel like absolute royalty. Never a negative thing to say in all my experiences.

Kayla is the absolute best! Never disappoints and knows exactly what she is doing! The staff at the spa are very welcoming and friendly. My only suggestion would be an update to the salon space to make it more modern! And it's time to get rid of those plexiglass things hanging from the ceiling between the sinks:)

The team at Interlude is always amazing! Kayla slays every time I come in. This past time we had a blast making drastic changes and with her enthusiasm and support we made a dream come true (in my eyes)! Never been to the interlude before it was my first experience loved the place after being to 4 bad salons in HRM and extremely bad Installs for my extentions and alot of money later. I found my forever home KAYLA she's a professional installer and teaches installs as well so picked up on the bad install and lack of blending or even matching and wrong hair for fine hair so after alot of looking for the right Stylist I think we found a match. Great job I love my hair can't wait to get the right hair installed for my fine hair which they sell at the salon and know how to cut / style / and match. I wish I had found her 3 years back I would have saved alot of money.

I went to Interlude for the first time and had an amazing experience. My fiancé had gifted me the "Spa Refresher" package which includes a manicure, pedicure, and hour-long massage. This was totally out of my comfort zone and I was a bit anxious heading in but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both the RMT Candace and nail tech Alex made me feel very comfortable and ensured I had a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend and I plan on going back!

What an amazing experience at Interlude Spa. I went to see Kayla for extensions but every single staff I encountered were amazing. Right from the time I walked in the door, it was a fantastic experience. I can’t say enough good things about this spa and Kayla!

Such friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Always scary finding a new stylist, but I’m so glad I took the leap. I felt at ease, loved the pretty space AND most importantly…my hair when I left. Thank you Kristina! Booking some spa time soon for sure!

I enjoy the physical space it’s clean and comfortable and Michelle Bell is professional and a highly skilled aesthetician.

The spa is good, but I’ve heard enough firsthand horror stories of these guys mistreating, underpaying, and poorly managing staff that I won’t be going back.

Got an appointment for a Brazilian wax which she then proceeded to ask if I wanted all the hair gone (I thought that was the whole point of a Brazilian wax). The wax was not dried properly which led to very painful tugging of my skin, after she was done I noticed that it was not done properly, I proceed to ask to fix the problem, i get home and check and needless to say this woman did a terrible job and needs to be retrained for what she is getting paid for. I am very disappointed and will never waste my money going to this place again especially if you are a woman of color with coarse hair.unbelievable.

I recently had my second appointment with Samantha in Dartmouth and this is the first time I am excited to give a review. If there were 10 stars I could rate her I would! I've been going to spas for many years and will never stray from Samantha at the Interlude in Dartmouth.

I have always had an excellent experience with Jennifer, I have been going to her for many years, she always managed to know what was needed to be done with my hair, and what color was suited for me.the head massages are the best I've ever had, very polite and a great conversationalist, and she does an amazing job.

My wife and I visited for a couples massage with Jen and Leah. The atmosphere and staff were excellent - very helpful and kind. Jen and Leah were excellent and the treatments went well. I was able to view everything online and then communicate with the office manager (Juliana) to book. She was also very professional and courteous! Goes a long way these days. Thanks Interlude Spa!

Got me to drive in for an appointment that didn't exist. Wasted my time and money and didn't even apologize just acted pretentious about it. Changed my positive rating review to a more truthful one

Staff were friendly and expert at the waxing/sugaring. The place is lovely to be in. The location is very convenient. I will definitely be coming back.

Very nice spa, the receptionist are very professional but I don’t think my hair dresser was well trained. I got highlights which she did one side at the time and resulted in one side being lighter
she cut my hair when it was dry and not straighten
didn’t double check the amount to cut off and when she did finish asked if cut length was good, little late.
I went back to fix highlights but I just got washed a few times nothing was resolved, not mad it’s just hair but I don’t recommend the place.

The team at Interlude is incredible, from the receptionist staff to the hairdresser, everyone was welcoming, informative and friendly. I enjoy my time here when I visit!

Bailey was amazing because she really listened to what I wanted with my hair. In addition she was very talented in doing my hair and I am very happy with the results and definitely will be back. Overall as well I found the products used to color my hair were less irritating than other places/ experiences (the toner specifically as I have had issues with a lot of burning and itchiness for time after color is done). As well the space is very beautiful and it is just so wonderful to see a building with history in downtown Dartmouth being honored. Sometimes staff in a place high end like the Interlude can seem aloof but I did not find this at all with my experience. I found the staff just all very friendly and I felt comfortable. Thank you Interlude.

Recently had a massage with Jennifer Payne, she was amazing and I would definitely recommend her.

In addition to being a welcoming and relaxing space offering several services, Interlude Spa provides learning opportunities and employment for students and recent graduates alike. Interlude Spa is a friendly, inviting, professional environment. I love having a business like them in our community that supports its people!

Just had a massage from Andrea and it was the best one I have ever had! She is amazing! Highly recommended.

I told a hairdresser several times that I wanted a medium brown color, but the color came out almost black. I asked to fix this and lighten my hair. And a Manager assured me that they would lighten my hair in a natural way and this would not damage my hair. Eventually, they just bleached my hair which damaged it a lot. I was very disappointed and I do not recommend this hair salon to anyone.

I have been going to Interlude (Dartmouth location) for years, and love the location and services I receive there! Danielle is the absolute best for aesthetic services, and I have recently started seeing Emma for massage therapy: both are total professionals and just really lovely people.

I feel like the staff at their reception area may have changed over recently, as the last few times I've been, the young women working at the desk don't seem to have answers to my questions, or may have missed basic steps, like asking if I would like to book in again for my next treatment, etc.

Still, this spa is a true gem in downtown Dartmouth: it's in such a unique space, and I always feel so relaxed after visiting.

I love the friendly and personable service of the employees at the Interlude. You can tell that the employees love their job because it reflects in the atmosphere, the way staff treat each other and the customer. I will always be glad to spend my hard earned money as a treat to myself in this beautiful and newly redecorated spa!

It was a good experience. My mom's first manicure for her 61st birthday. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Beautiful spa in Dartmouth however parking is very limited. My shellac manicure also chipped within 24 hours which was disappointing for the price paid. Would not go back for nails but would try other services such as a massage. Great atmosphere inside and friendly service.

I chose that score because I am always treated so well by Lena who excels in both her treatment and people skills. I am a long-time patron of the Interlude and will continue to be so because of Lena and the friendly staff.

Got a haircut from Malyssa and I dont think I could be happier with my hair! It was dull and fried when I arrived. I trusted Malyssa to cut and style my hair to make it look healthy and alive again. She gave me a haircut that suits me perfectly. She is a pleasant and joyful girl that I would definitely recommend

The staff is warm, polite, attentive, non judgmental & genuinely care about your needs.
Trevor is absolutely wonderful, incredibly caring, kind & passionate about what he does.

The perfect place for a pick me up, The Interlude offers hair salon, esthetics, body and facial treatments, massage, and exercise classes. On my last visit I had a shampoo and style from Baillie, and a makeup application in preparation for my engagement photo shoot. I have to say I left feeling like a million dollars. I have never had a bad experience or service here. One of my professionals said that it’s honestly an amazing place to work because everyone is kind to each other and love their jobs, and it shows! It’s welcoming, and comfortable inside with qualified, talented service staff. What more could you want from a salon? Best part? You can enjoy a glass of wine while you getting your hair/pedi/you name it, done! Highly recommend.

I got a lovely massage there about a month ago! The building is very deceiving from the outside. It looks quite small, but once you’re inside there are tons of rooms and floors and it’s all a little magical! Very friendly customer service, pricing was good, and massage was spectacular! I will definitely be back)

Wow. My first experience at Interlude was about a month ago. I had a facial, massage, and eyebrow sugaring. Everyone was so wonderful. My latest appointment was with Danielle. It was my first time and she made me so comfortable and explained everything so well. I will be back again and again. Thank you all.

This was the best experience I have ever had in a hair salon. Liz listened to my hair goals and was honest and straight forward about what we could accomplish. She was entertaining throughout the process and at the end of the appointment I had the best hair I have ever had. My husband was floored with what she did. I feel like a new person. I was so sad to hear she would be moving to another area of the Spa but am thrilled to hear she is crushing her goals.
