The Sunset Wine and Cheese was absolutely incredible! My wife and I were looking for a unique date night experience around the harbour and we found it! Thank you Capt Caleigh and crew! The fireworks were a huge bonus!

I booked the moonlit cruise to see the Natal Day fireworks and it was lovely! The city looked beautiful from the water at night. Some of the crew were finished their shifts for the night but tagged along to view the fireworks with us (doubling the fun!). A big thanks to captain Andrew and deckhands Molly, Kip, and Tineke!

We have been sailing with Tim and Karina twice now on the J Farwell Reverie and I couldn’t say more good things about them. They are always incredibly friendly, professional and a complete joy to sail with. The Reverie is the perfect activity for any occasion - I did it at sunset for a girls sail and most recently it was with some couple friends to celebrate our anniversary. It really is the best way to see Halifax in all its beauty!

We had an awesome time on the Reverie! I could have spent all day sailing through the harbour, sipping mimosas and soaking up the sun with a gentle breeze off the water. The boat was beautiful and my whole family enjoyed the ride. My kids had a ball exploring the boat and looking for seals. We stopped at McNabs island and were able to have a nice walk along the sandy beach and have a dip. On the way back it was fun to watch the sail go back/forth over our heads as we laid on the mesh.

I highly recommend J Farwell sailing tours. It is a must do when exploring Halifax!

My girlfriend and I did the wine a cheese boat cruise. We both said that the cruise was absolutely stunning and one of the best things we did on our vacation to Halifax. Only cons: charcuterie was not that great and I made a note because I wanted them to wish my Husband a "Happy Birthday" but it did not happen.

Crew was awesome, great service and explaining Halifax harbour history etc. The boat was very cosy and luxurious. Very nice personal experience!

We did an afternoon sail with Captain Brandon, Cayleigh, and Tineke. They were all professional, fun, and knowledgeable, and they even let my kids help a little. Would highly recommend! Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing, memorable afternoon!

It was a dreamy experience. A true sail in the ocean. Loved every minute. The staff were very knowledgeable and the tidal wine was amazing. Loved the concept and will definitely be doing it again. Best sailing experience in halifax.

It was a fun sailing with awesome captains. Engaging the passengers in directing the boat and the sails added more excitement to the tour.

Best last minute decision ever! The boat is very comfortable and the sailing experience real not motorized unless necessary. The hosts were great. So glad Jeff noticed us on the dock and invited us to book the wine and sunset tour. The wines were local and delicious! The sunset unbeatable!

Thoroughly enjoyed our excursion. Hosts were second to none. A perfect end to our short stay in Halifax. Definitely a must do.

Absolutely incredible experience! Our crew, Kirstie and Paul were wonderful. We did the wine and cheese sunset sail, I'm celiac and they reassured me that all of the crackers they use are Gluten-free! It was a lovely way to experience Halifax on the water and have great conversation with a lovely group of people

Mark and Andrew were amazing, they really know what they’re doing and really made us feel comfortable and at-ease. The wine and cheese is an excellent touch to the sunset experience. Their boat is beautiful and they were very opened to, not only tell us more about sailing procedures, but even allow us to ride the boat! Thank you so much for having us! I had a wonderful time and I know for a fact that the other guests did too! Can’t wait to go back

I really enjoyed my sailing trip with Kirsty and Cullen (I hope that’s how you spell their names). I ended up being the only person who booked my time slot, which meant I had the boat to myself, and they made it an unforgettable experience! They’re very knowledgable, not only about sailing, but also about Halifax and its history which I thought was a nice touch. They even let me sail for a good portion of the trip, and allowed me to help with the ropes! Their charisma, positive attitude and kindness made for a wonderful day. I escaped my every day life to go to Halifax to de-stress, and I’m so glad I got this experience in. It was worth it. It was one of my favourite moments of my trip. 10/10 would recommend this experience.

Absolutely a fantastic experience! The staff was lovely and so welcoming. The boat is stunning and the wine and cheese were a perfect addition. I can't say enough about how great J Farwell was to us and how amazing they were to deal with. Thank you to the crew for a beautiful evening and also to Sarah for being so accommodating when we struggled with weather and rescheduling. I absolutely recommend if you ever have a chance!

The staff were extremely attentive, the wines were great and the cruise included the perfect number of guests. We had an opportunity to sit on the bow and watch the sunset. It was a great experience. Highly recommend!

This is the second time we've gone sailing with J Farwells and it was wonderful. The captain and skipper were absolutely amazing. So friendly, very great to talk to. They taught us all about the city and the islands in the harbour. They took pictures for us too. The wine selection was lovely. We got to sit up on the front of the boat and it was a beautiful experience. It's a great activity for visitors and residents.

Fantastic crew! We had an absolute blast! From getting to help with the sail to relaxing on the bow. Highly recommended!

Beautiful boat, was able to sail at a good speed (lucky weather) which was fun. Great staff, and many stunning views of Halifax Harbour area.

My girlfriend and I went on the wine and cheese sailboat tour and it was such a unique and unforgettable experience. Brandon and Kirsty were chill and delivered impeccable customer service, taking us all around the waterfront of Halifax, describing the wines we were drinking and pointing out landmarks. It’s a really dope experience, you even get to steer the boat at times!

Booked the signature tour for my little family (I have a 3 years old). The crew was professional and welcoming, explained things well and offered plenty opportunities for the guests to participate in the sailing experience. Great selection of drinks ;) My little one truly enjoyed it!

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday with the tour. We had a fantastic experience! The crew members were very welcoming and personable, and the view of Halifax was lovely. We really enjoyed the selection of wine as well. I only wish the weather had been a bit nicer that day! I would go again, and recommend to anyone interested in relaxing on the water with good company.

We chose J Farwell Sailing for our first date out after Covid and we were so pleased. We sailed, tacked and learned while enjoying the Harbour. The crew was knowledgable, friendly and fun to be with.
This was my second sail in 2 years and my husbands first time out. Safety protocols were in place and easy to follow. We will be back.

Great staff Captain Gwen and her crew did a fantastic job. We got away on time. Sailed the harbour. Saw a few seals and many other sail boats.

Seems like the company with most yours to offer in the area. Wanted to go on a tour 2-3 prior to the hurricane coming through. We're told none of the cruises are available except for the most expensive one with wine and cheese tasting.

Amazing experience! Jeff and his crew are so nice and made the trip a lot of fun. You can be involved as much or as little as you want and theres wine and beer available for purchase on board (the rose was awesome). I would highly recommend if you're looking for a fun time out on the water that's more intimate than the larger excursions. Would definitely go back:)
