Spent 3 weeks here during co-vid to see my grandfather at end of life situation, the owners are incredible and made the stay convenient and comfortable. Will definitely re-turn!

Stayed at the motel as we were in town for event. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfy! The customer service from the owners of the establishment was fabulous and would absolutely recommend staying here! They were very accommodating and went above and beyond!

The owners of this motel are very kind and helpful. When we had to change our travel plans unexpectedly, they were very understanding and accommodating while helping us change our booking. It was nice to stay at a motel with such genuine and honest owners. Overall, our room was very clean and quiet, and the location was great as it allowed us to explore all that we wanted to in Sydney and the surrounding area. We would recommend this motel for families and travelers looking for a quiet, family-friendly location.

Friendly owner accommodated our late flight. We got to the hotel around 1am and the owner was there to help us get in. The room was modern and clean, but there were some flies in the bathroom and the sheets had a smell to them.

Very refreshing stay in this clean, quiet motel with friendly staff very helpful to add to your needs. Recommend this motel for families & pets with vast area for children to play & pets to get walked. Noted BBQs on site with picnic area as well as gazebo & play area.

Stayed for 1 night and room and service were excellent. Very Friendly and courteous staff. Room was very clean and detailed nicely. Highly Recommend!

We stayed at the Jacques Cartier Motel over Christmas. We stayed in a unit with a kitchenette. The motel is very clean and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The owners are lovely and very accommodating. Would definitely stay again in the future.

Horrible customer service and the lady was very rude on the phone to me! Couldn’t even book a room here, the attitude is disgusting and I’ve never heard of a motel not accepting cash or debit as payment

Best place to stay in Sydney. Been in sydney for almost a 2 months now, great room service, hosts are very hospitable, and are here to make your stay or vacation as pleasant as possible.

A very affordable motel for your whole family. The room is very well maintain and is really clean. The owners are really helpful and accommodating to all of our request. They're very friendly and one of the nicest people I ever meet.

We traveled from Ontario to cape Breton Nova Scotia and we stayed Jacques Cartier motel and the services was excellence especially the owned.they have set up a place to barbecue, and they have karaoke night.

My partner and I stayed there this past week in one room and his son and girlfriend a toddler, a baby and 2 big dogs stayed in another. The owners were super accomadating and kind. The motel is very clean and comfortable. We usually stay in one of the higher end hotels in Sydney when we visit but I will definitely be returning here. We stayed for 3 nights.met other guests, had a bonfire each night. Also great for my partner as he is a smoker. They had lots of little smoke boxes around the property. There is also a BBQ you can use and the kitchettes are well stocked. Absolutely stay here for a relaxing getaway. The beds were very comfy too ️

I stay here every year I go home to visit. Excellent service, rooms are very nice and clean. The owners are extremely nice and friendly. They make sure you have what you need. I was also able to do laundry on site. There is a huge yard surrounded by woods with lots of places to sit and relax. There’s a bbq for anyone to use. I’ll be going back again next year.

I'm writing on behalf of my mother who had the absolute worst experience of her life upon check-in at this establishment. Everything about her stay was deplorable and should be a warning to anyone looking to stay here.

Let's begin with the check-in process. The female owner working at the front desk should be ashamed of herself, plain and simple. She was rude, aggressive, and demanded a $200 fee for "being a smoker" and said "you are just like everyone else that smokes" accusing her of smoking in the room before she had even checked in. This illegally demanded fee is not outlined anywhere on their website. My mother had no intentions on smoking in the room, as she doesn't smoke in her own home.

When my mother had a difficult time with her credit card, the owner verbally berated her to the point of tears and threatened to deny her stay for opting to use her debit card instead. In addition to this, once payment was made my mother was made to stay in another room other than the one she booked a month earlier because she "checked in late". It was only 6pm, how this constitutes a late check-in in have no idea.

My mother is 64 years old and rarely travels outside of her hometown. This experience has been traumatic and extremely distressing. I hope this review serves as a permanent reminder of how you ruined someone's special trip.

Les propriétaires sont super accueillants et très accommodants. Nous étions en moto et ils pleuvaient, ils nous ont laissé notre chambre à partir de midi, on avait 3 chambres. Nous sommes rester 3 jours. À 40 min. De Louisbourg, 45 mi de la Cabot Trail. Endroit d'une propreté irréprochable, bonne grandeur de chambre. On avait une chambre avec porte communiquante avec nos amis. Ils nous ont même proposer de nous laisser leurs abris-soleil pour veiller. Kitchenette et tout se qu'on a besoin. BBQ à notre disposition. Un séjour parfait en tout. Un gros merci
Il n'y a pas d'air climatisé, malgré la chaleur nous n'avons pas souffert de la chaleur, il y a toujours du vent en Nouvelle-Écosse.

Excellent proximity to the Sydney airport. Rooms are clean but could use some updating. Stayed there twice. First bed not comfortable but second one was great! I know they r working on replacing mattresses.
Owners work very hard and are very accommodating and pleasant.

You can tell much care is put into maintaining this motel and that your comfort is important. It is a little older, but the rooms are updated.

This is our second stay at The Jacque Cartier Motel loved it! Very comfortable, quiet and great access to ferries, Cabot Trail and the Trans Canada Hwy. The property is lovely with a cottage atmosphere, with gazebos, lawn chairs and a BBQ. The room that we had was comfortable and clean. Also a well equipped kitchenette, a work station with fast, free Wi-Fi that reached the picnic table 100 ft away. The BEST part of staying at JC Motel is Larysa and Andre. They are the best hosts, friendly, gracious and very committed to making your stay comfortable and memorable. Thank You and we will see you next time we come to the Island.

The room was immaculate and the owners were very friendly. The grounds are kept beautiful, with a bbq and gazebo. I would highly recommend staying there.

On our trip from Ontario to Newfoundland, we stayed for 5 nights at this motel in Sydney and I can’t say enough how clean and comfortable it is. The owners are such lovely people and helped us with an extra fan when the weather was unseasonably hot. We went back for another night on our way home. There are laundry facilities on site, also extremely clean. The kitchenette was very handy and well stocked with everything we needed, including coffee for the machine. The rooms are spacious and lots of room to spread out for a longer stay. We will stay here again for sure!

We stayed here in July for 1 night. Spotless rooms. Great value, considering room had a kitchenette. Owners were friendly, helpful, and generous.

We have enjoyed our stay with jacques cartier for the 6th year this summer and could not be more pleased, the most beautiful people and service who own this clean, confortable, beautiful place made our vacation perfect.

Just what we like. Walk outside directly to your vehicle.

If you are smokers like us and 12% of the population you will appreciate not having to navigate 100 stairs and elevators to get outside.
If you have pets like 55% of the population they are close to the outdoors.

The owners are very friendly and look after you.

This place is the best - clean, comfortable, well-equipped kitchens, great beds and awesome owners. The gardens are beautiful, full of happy bees, and the acreage provides privacy as well as opportunities for barbecuing and gatherings with family.

I’ve been coming here the last 5 years. I’m originally from Sydney and it’s truly the best value in town. The rooms are clean and the owners are top notch. I’ll continue to stay here in the future as it’s safe and private. A true HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

My dad, Stuart MacIsaac, always stays here when he is working in the Sydney area. It is clean, quiet, affordable and the owner/ operators are very friendly and helpful. A lot of renovations have been done over the past few years, and it is a great place to stay!

Have stayed here a few times when visiting Cape Breton. Rooms are clean and owners are friendly anwere more than helpful providing us with things we forgot to bring. Just a nice friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend this motel.
