During my stay in Halifax, as an activity for the day and including a transfer on the Halifax-Dartmouth-Halifax ferry with lunch at this place, close to the destination Ferry Terminal, with a very welcoming environment for a pedestrian walk. First surprise, you have to make a reservation, but after a tedious but brief wait, they accommodated us. Great variety of dishes to choose from, including generously sized and fresh sushi (the latter, personally, is not my preference), but with varied alternatives, and to be fair we had a generous lunch. Excellent service, warm atmosphere and good food. Prices according to the quality of the food. I recommend it to those who like the specialty, it is not entirely my taste, but the experience and the ride are good.

I have eaten here before and it was good. Went for dinner and things seemed great. I then had a tuna maki that tasted sweet, and very soon after started to feel ill. I had a few trips to bathroom, and did not want to eat food. The kicker was they then added $40 to my wife and my bill for the food we didn't want to eat. When questioned about this they would only respond that it was their policy.

This is the worst Japanese food restaurant that I’ve ever been in. Had all you can eat dinner here. It took them 45 minutes to serve sashimi and sushi, which is ridiculous. Even find a fish bone in my tuna sashimi. Tuna taste not fresh at all. Wasabi here taste like mud. Tempura taste dry like sand. DO NOT COME HERE.

Very well prepared sushi, even though this is an all you can eat restaurant, the quality of the food is very high. Service is extremely friendly, very nice atmosphere, definitely returning for more.

Arrived to Jukai for supper and it was slow. Only two seats in the restaurant at the time. Took forever to get water refills and items didn’t arrive. Had to ask multiple times for items. Second time here. Service is declining here.

The food was pretty good for an AYCE.

I didn't like that the waitress added her own tip when I paid.

I enjoy the AYCE and it's probably my favorite in the city. The service is excellent.

I often get take out here as well and it's always excellent.

Hope you like Maroon 5 because it's on loop. Food is really good for an AYCE place. Service tends to leave something to be desired but not terrible.

The service today is so bad. We made the reservation at 5: 15 and we were told that this was the only time we can reserve. We got there late since it is Friday evening and everyone knows the traffic is awful. When we got there the server told us we only have 1.5 hours to finish the meal since they have another reservation at 7: 15 pm. And the server told us we generally don’t reserve for you when you are late. We’ve been there many times before and the food quality is generally good. But their services are so bad today and I want to share with everyone.

Understandably it’s Valentine’s evening, but 1.5 hours (so far) for a take out order, 45 minutes was the estimated time to pickup, 30 minutes in a line and not even asked my order number yet… I have no idea if the food is good, but the foresight to close the online ordering system at this point simply isn’t there… also there are over 20 people behind me in line still.

Update: The wait was not good, but the food was amazing.

There has definitely been a dip in service over the past few months. The food is delicious but it takes 20+ minutes for anything to come out to you no matter how quiet it is inside. Waited 30 minutes for a single scoop of ice cream and 2 brownies. Be prepared to wait.

Food was delicious but the service was very slow. We had the all you can eat. Had to wait more than an hour to get the last few items on the order and didn’t bring one of the dishes.

Order as you eat, quick turn around and great experience. Book ahead though as this place is always busy.

My 1st time and last time.food was salty and cold. I love Pad Thai, this one was dissapointing, not the usual noodles and the tofu had a rank taste. My bf loves shortribs, he wouldn't eat them.and did I mention, it was all cold, cold and cold!

This is by no means the best Japanese Cuisine I have ever had but it is the best HRM has to offer when it comes to sushi all you can eat and such.

Discovered a bit by accident. Had the all-you-can-eat lunch. Delicious food, stunning presentation, great value for money. Both my wife and I really enjoyed. If we visit Halifax again we will definitely return here. Highly recommended.

Love this place, it is hard to get a table because of their popularity but if you can make a reservation and give them a try! I’m a vegetarian and their options are endless for anyone and everyone!

Ridiculous experience!
We saw a maggot on the sashimi plate! And we called the server to check, she took away the plate and came back to bring the same plate, said that it was not a maggot it was a sesame. I am not stupid I know the difference between a sesame and maggot, I trusted this restaurant and frequently visit, so I did not take the picture I thought I could have reasonable explanation! We did not eat a lot just seated there for 20 mins but we did not want to eat any more is gross! BUT they still asked us to pay whole price! Unbelievable!

Food was really good. They could work on their knife skills though as rolls and sashimi were not always completely cut. The female staff working were on point and very polite. Male workers left us feeling like we were bothering them

Dine in service and food quality is always great, pick up orders are always 20mins later than the time they tell you to arrive. Causing you to wait awkwardly in the middle of their restaurant though

Super yummy sushi! For all you can eat I find some places use small amounts of fish, they don't. Staff was very quick and helpful. Well worth the visit and will definitely go back!

Please note there is no longer a lunch price for all you can eat. We went on a Sunday lunchtime and it was $28.99 each plus a $1 Friday/Sat/Sun/holidays surcharge. Ouch.
However you don't all have to have AYCE, some of us ordered a la carte from the menu.
The food and service was great.

I went to JuKai for sushi first time sushi was very good never had cream cheese sushi before very nice place service was fast servers wear helpful and kind all you can eat was more expensive than other places I have been to other than the high price all is good I will be back again

Service was excellent. The servers did a great job explaining the technology for ordering all you can eat. Portions are a good size and nicely presented. It is an extensive sushi menu.

Service and food is great. Recently they got rid of their lunchtime all you can eat menu which is a bit of a drawback but nevertheless still a great place to eat. The only improvement I would offer is that the turnaround time between ordering food and the delivery at your table is a little slow and impacts the all you can eat experience.

Great ambiance, good spot for all you can eat sushi and service is also decent. Ive been there many times and it never disappoints. Rolls are creative and delicious, sashimi is fresh, their other items like cheese wontons, chicken gyoza, beef short ribs are amazing! Make reservations because they are usually very busy!

The worst ever experienced we had today. We loved to eat in this place before and today we even invited our friends from Yarmouth to experience their food but with the kind of service we had today, I don’t think we will ever come back again. The waitress is so mean and even the food is good, it’s over power our will to come again.

I have ordered a lot of take -out here, so I really can't speak on the dine -in service. Their rolls are super full and robust with fish, but sometimes it seems they have more grissely cuts. I will find myself eating these rolls bursting with tuna, and then find I have to chew it relentlessly. Gengi, you get less fish, but way easier to chew. They don't give "Bonus " rolls, but more fish cuts in each one.

The restaurant was really not good!
The food was very salty and one of the employees let us know it was to drink more and be full.
The attitude of the employees and the manager was very bad throughout the evening and there was no politeness.
Also, be careful that he does not charge you more food or things that you will not order on the invoice because they deliberately made us believe that we had ordered dishes when we never had them.order.
The manager lied to us and was rude on several occasions!
It is totally unacceptable and unacceptable to have to deal with such a dishonest restaurant with such poor quality!

Jukai is one of my favorite all-you-can-eat restaurants. All the food is delicious. If they are busy, it will take a long time to receive the food. A parking spot is the complicated thing. I will recommend park close by cibc

A very good option for all-you-can-eat sushi, very fast service, you order via and iPad given to you when you are seated, and after placing your order it typically starts to come out within 5 minutes, give or take.

Usually quite busy, and I would highly recommend placing a reservation in advance, or calling to see if any tables are open for walk in.

La nourriture était très salée et l’un des employés nous a laissé savoir que c’était pour boire davantage et être plus remplis.
L’attitude des employés et de la manager ont été très mauvaise tout au long de la soirée et il n’y a eu aucune politesse.
Par ailleurs, faite attention à ce qu’il ne vous charge pas plus de nourriture ou de choses que vous n’aurez pas commander sur la facture car ils nous ont volontairement fait croire que nous avions commandé des plats alors que nous ne les avions jamais commandé.
La manager nous a menti et a été impolie à plusieurs reprises!
C’est totalement inacceptable et inadmissible de devoir faire face à un restaurant si malhonnête et avec une aussi mauvaise qualité!

I went here for my mother's birthday. The all-you-can-eat is great value and they have great sushi. For dessert, I would definitely recommend vanilla ice cream or watermelon slices. However, you will find service a bit slow if the place is crowded like with any other restaurant.

This place is rapidly becoming a family favorite of our! We liked it and my son ate everything. This place serves unreal bombs of flavor with amazing price. Can’t wait to return again with my family! Highly recommend

This sushi is amazing!

Jukai has takeout and sit in options. We chose the All You Can Eat, supper.

All three of us commented that we had rarely, maybe never, had such fresh, well prepared and tasty sushi.

The sashimi was super fresh, delicious, and nice portions.

The Tom Yum soup was not as hot (physically) as I would have liked, but tasted good.

The unagi rolls were perfect.

We tried fried milk for the first time and had to order more. The black sesame ice cream was not at all what we expected, and a new favourite!

The service was very friendly, and most of our orders came out quickly, the last couple seemed to take a really long time, but we were very happy over all.

I wish I can give NEGATIVE stars! The service is terrible and the manager has a really bad attitude, I have never been treated by someone like her, she should be fired! Please avoid going to this restaurant! Not recommended at all! I will never go there again!

I was at the restaurant yesterday with my family and I too saw the situation waiting in line. I didnt quite understand what was going on but I am now shocked to see how they are treating bad feedback as fake accounts and not accepting.

I tried to let them know the order system was confusing. But was completely ignored and with this attitude. I’m afraid they may really have spitted on customer’s dishes that they don’t like …

The best sushi spot in HTM. Must go and eat!
