I know this will be a long review but it's so important to tell my story on how badly she messed up my wedding dress.
First of all, I went 5 times. Beginning of July she was closed for a surgery which we understood. Second time I went in and tried it on I asked for a hem bustle and adding sleeves. I brought my wedding shoes with me and tried on the dress she insisted that there was no need for a hem. She did not have a pedestal for me to stand on for her to look properly and she did not even get me to walk in the dress. She also has the absolute smallest changing room the size of a tiny closet and a very small shop. She said she would also add the sleeve and bustle but since my wedding wasn't for another 2 months to come back about a month before the wedding and drop it off then. We went back mid-august and brought her the material we had to buy for her to make the sleeve I tried on the dress again she pinned where the bustle needed to go and tried the sleeves on. My mother also brought her mother of the bride dress to get it hemmed. (I should add that she did a good job on her dress so I that's why she even got 1 star)
She told us it would be done in 3 weeks. When we went back 3 weeks later she had not sewn the sleeves on because she needed me to be in the dress again to remeasure and she forgot about the bustle so we had to leave again after my mom tried on her dress. She told us to come back later in about an hour and she would have it done. When we went back she showed us the sleeve sewn on and showed us the bustle. I did not get a chance to try on the dress again because there were other customers in the shop. Five times we went to get this dress altered.
I did not get a chance to try on the dress at home without my fiance around until the next weekend when I tried it on I realized that she sewed over the top Loop of the corset which means it can not be done up properly at the top. When she made the bustle, it was not even, it was off to the left hanging just next to my hip, it did not pick my dress up off the floor, just crumpled it up still dragged on the ground and she used a bra strap clasp and thread to hold up a big train. I was also tripping on the dress.big time because it needed to be hemmed just like I asked for in the beginning. Now a week and 5 days until the wedding and I'm getting David's to do it as a rush job. The Alteration department at David's laughed at how horrible her work was. They said the bustle would have lasted 30 mins without breaking. She should have made 3 bustles and made them with stronger material.
All to say I would go there for my curtains or Jean's but never for a dress. If she didnt have the space, skill or materials to fix my dress she should not have accepted the work. This has cost me HUNDREDS like over $500 (on top of what she charged) for David's to fix it on such short notice, where if I would have gotten it done the first time I went months ago I could have avoided the rush fees everywhere.
I did not call her to tell her because she isn't open on a Sunday and I needed help immediately. Honestly I don't want to step foot inside that place and have her touch my dress again.

My family and friends have had numerous services completed with excellent results. Katie is an excellent seamstress and has recently replaced the pocket zipper on my favourite jacket.

Amazing lady to work with, very sweet & kind! Dresses were done very quick and well done. She even gave the kids headbands to match their dresses!

Katie was one of the only tailors to take on an unusual upholstery job I had, and she did it at a quarter of the price as well. She finished the work before her estimated time even though it was a big job. She was so friendly and easy to work with; I will definitely take more projects to her from now on.

I took a shot in the dark by going with this tailor off of reviews alone but I’m so glad I did. Not only did I receive a batch of garments, tailored impeccably, but Katie is such a delight as a person I feel I’ve found my forever tailor and a good friend. I’m not the best at explaining the vision in my head but Katie understood exactly what I was looking for and knew what would/wouldn’t work to achieve my vision. Her pricing is beyond fair and was shocked at how quickly she finished all the pieces I brought in. I got a pair of work pants and a delicate mesh dress hemmed, as well as a liner put into a wedding party dress that was completely see through, exposing a leotard underneath. The dress turned out beautifully! Was so impressed with how perfect everything turned out. Don’t hesitate to go with Katie’s tailoring if you are considering getting something done with her.

Katie is absolutely amazing. I flew to Nova Scotia from Alberta and needed an emergency alteration on my wedding dress after the last seamstress failed horriblely. I thought my wedding dress would be unfixable and ruined. Katie saved the day.in one day she was able to mend my dress so I could wear it. Thank you Katie! Amazing price as well

Had a zipper replaced in a full length coat. Great price, fast turnaround a friendly. I would double the 5 star if I could.

Amazing service today, coming out of town and my zipper broke on my jacket and they fixed for me same day without an issue! Price and service was wonderful highy recommended
