Was at Kent today Dec 30th in Bayers Lake.
I needed plumbing equipment. The young lady was more than helpful. I was amazed at the service she provided and she was determined to find the correct attachments.
After that I was searching for another product and was approached by another young lady to ask if I needed help.
Never occurs at home depot. So from now onward Kent is for me!

If you can physically grab something from the store it's alright. But if you pay for delivery and have any deadlines to consider on anything getting installed I highly DO NOT recommend. Delivery of materials at 5: 48am causing noise complaints, missing materials and having to wait after the weekend because they don't work weekends, having an employee say 'atleast your only missing 1 thing'. I am now unable to put railings on a deck which is not only an inconvenience to have to go back to install, but a safety hazard as well. Very unhappy with my experience overall

Great place to get building supplies. It's massive and the costs won't break your bank. Very friendly staff as well

Recently had a kitchen drawer fall apart and could not find anybody in the city to fix it (literally I went everywhere). Went to Kent to try to find the parts myself and was directed to the cut shop there instead - they were able to fix my drawer that day for a nominal fee. Special thanks to manager Jason, Billy in the cut shop and the wonderful lady at the Project Desk whose name I unfortunately did not obtain. You guys saved my week!

Didn't have what I needed and the employees I talked to had me walking around the store. One would tell me it was in one aisle another would tell me another aisle. Never did find what I was looking for and left. Won't be back.

Wish I never worked there. Only three people (co-workers), made it bearable to work. And one was a temp worker and two are full time, I feel sorry for them. How they put up with extremely poor management is beyond me. 2 1/2 months.not worth it.

At the best of time when you are looking for Vinyl Plank flooring online, it's a total crapshoot if the location actually has what you want in stock. I've learned to not order online without calling up the store and someone confirming stock. So there was a sale and I picked up the phone and I was transferred to flooring. I gave the SKU number and without even looking I got the reply "Sorry, we don't have that in stock" I asked them to check the shelf for stock. The employee walked over and kept me on the line and he found the flooring and counted up to 10 boxes. I told him thanks and I would be placing the order online immediately.

Not much happened after placing the order when I suddenly received a call from a woman saying they were going to cancel my order because they don't have the flooring in stock. I wasn't happy to say the least and I said right before placing the order I was told you had ten boxes, I needed 6. Instead of trying to help me, she tries to trip me up on the whole, but did you ask the employee to go check. I said yes, that's why I'm mad. You are saying the opposite of what I was told by someone in flooring.

The woman then tells me she will call me back. About 5 minutes later she called me back, all happy to give me the great news that the flooring I wanted was being transferred up to the front of the store and to wait for the notification. Now the next part is anyone's guess if true or not. She then throws an employee under the bus saying a new person who didn't know how to use the computer system wasn't able to find what I had ordered and wanted to cancel the order. The person I spoke to in flooring did not even remotely sound like someone new, while I'm on the phone he knew exactly where in the store this flooring was. He knew the name, gave me the details and counted up how many boxes left.

I think the worst part of the whole ordeal was the fact that at no point did I receive any apology. The woman I dealt with was more keen on blaming someone else for the problem, trying to weasel out of filling my order, then when none of that worked, suddenly what I wanted was in stock. Not a single apology. I guess that's someone else's fault as well.

On a side note, one thing I do loathe the most is the online ordering system. I can understand you don't have things in stock but man, about 50% of my orders always get cancelled and I have pending charges that take forever to come off. It would be nice if no charges of any kind were put through until a human being can either confirm the order, or wait for the customer to call back the same day. I hate waking up and finding a voicemail and that what I wanted wasn't in stock and was going to be cancelled.

An a Atlantic business that truly delivers in service, product and price. I love it's building supplies, tools, doors, and indoor, and outdoor garden supplies too. And yes, it has much more, like Kitchens and Bathrooms which they will install, too, if you desire.

I wish my friend never worked here. They way this "establishment" treats their own staff, is absolutely disgusting. It breaks my heart that my friend had to endure what she did. I'm never going there to buy product or work here.

Great prices and very friendly staff. Online prices don't necessarily match online prices which is a little odd - but they will match the online price if you ask them to.

Good for a simple stop, good prices. Their brand is good quality but, do not compare with DeWalt or Makita. Don't expect anything fancy. When things are not on sale they are more expensive than most places but, good usually. Can also be crowded on rush hours and staff could be overstressed - blame managers and company for exploiting employees. Overall, good for a quick stop.

Had some issues in the past where a manager ended up resolving for me but this time everything was great. Staff was very inviting and helpful. Found the product I was looking for no problem. Great experience this time.

These guys know what they are doing and they are super friendly and supportive. Every single interaction with the staff has been nothing but pleasant. If there are things you cant find at other stores check this place out as they seem to be well stocked.

I visited the customer service on June 18th in the doors and cabinets section of the store located in the back mid right of the store. We were looking to purchase a custom door. The doors available were displays nicely. However some doors didn't have pricing. We proceeded to the service desk to inquire. The response from the younger gentlemen working was he didn't know why some doors did and some didn't. He did say that the door had to be built and pricing would be dependent on the features decided upon. We asked for a catalog we could take with us. None available. We did get the stores catalog and went through and decided upon a door we liked. A second younger gentleman assisted us after a half hour and asked us if we would like a brochure to take with us. Now there were some available. My biggest issue with this whole process was the lack of readily available information, the indifference to the customers needs and the
lack of meaningful engagement. I would expect more when purchasing a $3000.00 door. We also were shopping for decking, railing and brick. I will be visiting Home Depot even though I like support a local Martime business. Just a frustrating experience.

Ive always shopped at Home Depot but recently they had no plywood of the thickness that I wanted and I tried Kent, and the size of the store seems a lot larger, with better selection, and was able to get everything I needed. I will be using Kent from now on, and its obviously going to get easier to shop once I get used to where everything is in the store.

Hey there, I was in Halifax visiting my niece her plumbing under sink was all leaking and she had to keep a bucket under the sink. She had a gobbled up mess of old plastic and abs plumbing. Shawn (Sean) at Bayers Lake chain lake dr.helped me find everything I needed to matched up to her existing plumbing. If he hadn’t been so helpful I’d still be there looking. My hat is off to Sean you have a exemplary employee! Thanks again!

Kent features a variety of reno items big and small and provides friendly service with a smile. Definitely worth checking out if you are about to tackle a new project.

Not the biggest fan of going there on weekends. I also noticed a big difference in knowledge and training between staff at Bayers Lake and the new location across the road from Ikea. A contractor I worked with even mentioned to only go to Kent on weekdays, as there is more seasoned staff to help.

I found Kents to be very helpful and friendly their customer service desk was amazing. Carol-Ann at the desk was quick, professional and funny. I can see why they are training her as a supervisor

Store is fine. The website needs some work. Would be nice if it would show the exact place to find the product you’re looking for. Which isle and shelf.

Looked everywhere in Bedford for a cooker's light bulb. I couldn't find the size I want.
In Kent Bayers Lake this morning. I got help from Ashley, a young Kent staff. He extended help till I found the item which was not on display in the lights section.

I want to thank the garden centre at Kent Bayers Lake for their extra help this year. Harrison went the extra mile and called the nursery and found me exactly what I wanted at the price I wanted, saved me a ton of money and was really helpful. Also Anna couldn't be more helpful every time I go. These two people are outstanding, many thanks for jobs well done!

Don't order online. No one will respond to my calls or emails, my credit card has been charged but I have no faith that I will actually get my order as it was supposed to be locally delivered within 24 hours and has now been 8 days and counting. Customer service voice mailbox is full. Emails to 3 different customer service inboxes going unanswered. Terrible experience, will not order from here again.

Best In Location in HRM. Each department has everything you need. Staff here are great, often knowledgeable and accurate with their recommendations. Lumber yard is great size for any project. You find what you need at Kent Bayer's Lake.

I asked Kent to cut some wood for panels and shelves I was making. I chose all the wood in the store, gave them measurements, paid in advance and returned next week driving through a fierce blizzard to find they had accidentally cut the wood too small and they had run out of the wood I had chosen at the store to replace it. We decided to give them another week to fix their mistake and returned the next week to find the wood in the same wrong state and the other useable wood I had chosen nowhere to be seen. I had to get a total refund of over $150 worth and even that took 15 mins to process. Signs everywhere in the store say 'Satisfaction 100% guaranteed' as if to rub salt into the wound.

Kents today five stars, the girls in the lighting department actually got a ladder out and changed the bulb in a fixture so we could see how much brighter it could be, great service.

Competitive prices.
Price matching policy. (Not including Costco, because it is a club with an annual fee.)
I like the price matching and the local connection as far as large companies goes.

It would be nice if we could get emailed receipts like Home Depot, it is why I prefer to buy stuff there so I could return even if I lost the physical copy.
