Knotty Pine Cottages

The most delicious chicken sandwich and incredible service. You absolutely MUST stop here for lovely people and an amazing meal.

We stayed in one of the sunset cabins and it had an amazing view! Right on the water and near the harbour.
It’s a little difficult to walk anywhere but it’s a good spot that is right before the national park and main area of Ingonish.
Our rental had everything that was advertised and was quaint and cute. Definitely one of the more modern rentals.

We rented a two bedroom cottage for one night. Though the location and views are superb, we found the cottage very cramped, and a little expensive for what you got. The bathroom was so small we could barely get at the sink without being on top of the toilet.

The restaurant on-site did serve the most delicious seafood chowder and the service was fantastic.

Nous avions prit un Sunset Cottage. J'ai bien aimé! Une belle vue sur la baie de notre balcon. L'unité était propre et confortable. L'emplacement était calme et pas trop loin de l'entrée du parc national. Parfait pour faire quelques sentiers pédestre. Il y a un bbq et des couverts pour se faire un peu à manger, mais prévoir une poêle pour des repas plus élaborés. Un point négatif est qu'il faut faire la vaisselle dans le lavabo de la salle de bain.

Cute cabin with a very nice view, it was clean and had everything we needed. The fish and chips at the little restaurant was very good. Unfortunately neither of us could get the internet connected.

The biggest issue was the cabin we stayed at (#5) had a very strong smoke smell despite being "smoke free". Idk if it was just the people before us or if it's just that cabin. Not really acceptable though. The front door also did not have a deadbolt, just a regular key lock you find mostly on interior doors.

A gem tucked between the Cabot Trail and Ingonish Bay, we stayed in a small cabin that was at first glance unassuming and underwhelming. But then we opened the door and entered, and were taken with how bright, clean, and spacious it was. We had a private balcony that has a wonderful view of the water and across the bay. Absolutely a gem, though beware taking a large vehicle here - you won't be able to reach the lower cottages. Great choice for either a one night stay on your journey or as a homebase to explore the Highlands!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage was cute and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The room has big windows with views of the beautiful lake. The owner was super nice and kind！ He provided great information to us. Restaurant serves the BEST dumplings I have ever had:). Both my kids loved the dumplings so much （they are picky eaters）！

Had a wonderful stay here! We stayed in cabin 1a. Cottage was so cute, very clean and very comfortable. Had all amenities needed and received great service if we needed extra towels etc. Beautiful views from the deck, such a relaxing spot with lots to explore nearby. Restaurant was also great, dumplings are amazing:)

We stayed in cabin G. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with a lovely room with big windows on the wall facing the water. All the staff were very nice. They have a small restaurant on site that made some amazing food. Fish and chips, and some dumplings and steamed rice. Very good. Would highly recommend staying here!

Please visit this business. David is a super host. The most welcoming business operator we've had the pleasure of dealing with.
Amenities are all modern. Huge TV, high speed internet and satellite TV.
The bbq was very hot. Just bring your own tools
We love David's business model and hope to stay with him again.

Great views and locations. Friendly owner and staff.
I wish all rooms had AC (not the owners fault.) Just fat Americans that are use to having AC all the time at 68°F/20°C.

Room was good but could be cleaner. Small fixes would go a long way. Adirondack chairs were full of mold. View and location are great

On the far south side of Ingonish overlooking the bay. Immaculate, clean, cute, cozy, private cottage. We stayed in Sunset D. Very relaxing after a days hike.

Unfortunately - they have removed the EV charging from the premises. This is a mistake as it was one of the main reasons for staying at Knotty Pine.

I certainly hope that the new owners realize that EV charging is a very very important part of their business.

Check BEFORE you book this is not owned by the traditional Nova Scotia heritage folks. So your not going to be happy. If you don't like Chinese food you might not be happy!

Fabulous, we had an amazing view, our cottage/cabin next to office was spotless, beds we so comfy and spacious, Exactly what we wanted. Dave the owner is a sweetheart. He even picked a rose from is garden to give me for our anniversary, one of the young ladies on staff made sure the the thorns were removed. When come back to the Cabot trail we would look forward to staying in any of the cottages.

We stayed in a two bedroom cabin. Noce views. Cabin is a little dated but very clean, well equipped and comfortable beds. Only downside was the smell, our cabin smelled of wet dog

Beautiful cottages in a quiet area. However, given the location, it would be helpful if there was a small breakfast menu. Otherwise everything great!

It was a pretty place, well equipped and clean. The view from the sunset cabins was exceptional! And it was close to restaurants, convenience stores etc. (Driving close) The hosts were also very responsive. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Absolutely wonderful accommodations but the real amazing part about knotty pine is the staff, the gentleman we were in contact with was an absolute delight, they upgraded our cabin for no reason other than to give us a better experience and when there was no where else to get food in town due to a storm they went out of their way to make us some excellent dumplings for a very good price. Would definitely recommend staying here on your next trip to cape Smokey or along your trip threw the Cabot trail.
