The food here is always amazing. Tonight, we ate the lamb with smoked mushroom risotto. The lamb was perfectly cooked, moist and tender, and the risotto was incredible. There was just the right amount of smoke flavour in the mushrooms, and the risotto was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The arancini is always great here, the beef carpaccio was excellent, and the server recommended dessert of bread pudding was incredible also. I need to give a special shoutout to our server (her name might be Elizabeth, it says that on the receipt, but I didn't catch her name from her). This place was busy on Saturday night, and I've pretty much resolved myself to expect poor, or at least slow service when a restaurant is busy. Elizabeth was absolutely amazing at keeping our water glasses full, and checking back in at the right times to see if we needed anything else, and brought the bill in good time when I requested it. So many times lately I've waited 20 or 25 minutes for a bill after finishing dessert, when I just want to leave, so between keeping the water full (I drink a LOT of water while I eat) and not taking forever with the bill, this made a huge positive impact on my experience at La Frasca. She is one of the best servers around anywhere!

La Fresca has become THE restaurant for my husband and I. The food has always been Delicious! The staff is always amazing. We are always planning our next meal there and looking forward to the visit.

I loved the place itself and the ambiance. Service was impeccable, however, I must say that during dinner time it gets bit loud. I wish the atmosphere was more elegant and quiet as having a conversation with your loved one may be bit hard at times. Other than that we have had great time for our anniversary and food was amazing!

I have been to this restaurant three times, most recently on October 13th to celebrate my birthday. The service attitude is extremely excellent, which shows the efforts of the restaurant management team and the orderly and decent service experience. The halibut is very delicious, the salmon is also great, be sure to try their pasta and pizza which are equally good. They are a very good and well-trained restaurant, providing pre-meal bread, filling water without request, ensuring customers' dining experience at all times, and entree plates always being kept warm. At the same time, their desserts are also excellent. If you want to celebrate an important day or have a small gathering with friends or relatives, be sure to choose this restaurant. They will bring you extremely good service and dining experience.

So disappointed. Crostini appetizer was Luke warm and bland, wine glasses and cutlery were dirty, both our entrees were just ok, with the scallops being the best of anything (scallop linguini and rabbit pasta). Certainly expect more from the Bertossi Group. The quality was not good for the price.

We had the best meal, absolutely incredible service and loved the atmosphere. We will be back for sure!

Great experience! Ordered the risotto appetizer and it was delicious. The pizzas were great and super filling. The cheesecake was okay, but I wouldn't get it again. The atmosphere was nice and the service was really good.

A small (good) detail: I really appreciated that we were given sharp knives when our pizzas came. It's so hard to cut a pizza with normal butter knives, so it was a really nice surprise to not have to struggle to eat my pizza and tear it apart.

Best White Russian I have ever had. The server we had was lovely and so accommodating/understanding when I asked to have a candle on our dessert as we were celebrating my deceased mothers birthday. Will definitely be back.

The food was fantastic and the service was very attentive. Steve, the manager, not only ensured the whole operation ran smoothly but made sure the patrons were all well attended to. La Frasca is definitely a 5 out of 5.

Great burger for burger week! Service by Lauren was lovely and the ambience was cozy and warm as well. Highly recommend!

Awesome as always. Have been dining here over the years and never had a bad experience. Very generous portion of Calamari while many restaurants in the city give you 6 rings for higher price. Lobster gnocchi was rich and flavorful. Halibut was good portion and the mark up on wine is very fair comparing with many restaurants around the city. Our server Chloé was awesome. Oh and they still do bread service which many restaurants have forgotten about or they charge you for it. Will be back soon.

Had the mushroom and spinach pizza and it was super tasty. They did not cheap out on the toppings, that’s for sure. The service was fantastic and I loved the ambiance. So many items on the menu that I will have to go again next time I come to town.

Dined here last night, our waiter was absolutely awesome, I wish I remembered his name! He was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Cocktails were incredible. We had Arancinni for an app, and I had the fettuccine with steak, delicious! The chocolate cake was phenomenal as well. Will be back for sure!

Service was great and food was filling but uninspired. I am not happy when a savoury dish is too sweet (the radicchio salad). We arrived at 5 and were seated in a poky corner. Wine was a good price. My friend was very happy with her meal so maybe my mediocre meal was a fluke. Gotta say though, I'm quite sure my tostata was not fresh, and the crema was too sweet.

Food was good, but with the prices I was expecting great. Also my partner got food poisoning.

I went with my daughter and husband for his birthday. We have to wait for the table, totally fine. Our waiter was super polite and got our order on time. The only problem, but I kind understand, is that we have to wait almost one hour for our food. But, I definitely say it was woth wait ever minutes. The food was Devine. Definitely, we gonna go back.

Amazing food, expensive and good atmosphere. A ritzy place to eat, if you don't mind spending $40 extra eating out for a more intimate experience with your partner or friends.

Loved the atmosphere of this place. First time there, but it won't be our last. Everything was delicious, from the bread, to the pasta being made to perfection, and to the best cheese cake I've ever tasted. Would highly recommend!

Great food at La Frasca. Three of us all enjoyed our food. I had linguine with scallops. Perfectly cooked scallops made this dish very enjoyable. Fettuccine with peppered beef and Atlantic salmon were very good also. Service and ambience very good too

Quick, attentive service, delicious food, and none of it seems greasy or heavy in your stomach after eating. I can polish off a delicious order of arancini, and a steak meal and not feel too weighed down afterwards, which is pretty good considering how great it all tastes. Prices are very reasonable also.

Absolutely delicious pasta dishes! Environment was great but would be a little weird for a first date. Reason being it was loud for one and lots of movement from wait staff in the open concept style. Me and my wife throughly enjoyed it! Wait staff was super friendly, quick to serve table.

Food was good and fresh. Service was excellent. Value is good for the quality. The place was packed and quite loud though, something to keep in mind if looking for a romantic dinner. Kitchen was slow that night but that could be isolated.

I feel the staff here take a lot of pride in the restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. Even the bartenders seemed to take pride in making the drinks. The desserts seemed to also be made in house and were things I hadn't seen anywhere else. And for that quality of food the prices were very reasonable. We were visiting from Aberta but if we ever come back this is the first place I will look up!

Enjoyable little Italian restaurant, the ambiance was quite nice - low lighting with a lot of interesting fixtures. The food was delicious, both the scallop linguini and gnocchi were excellent. It was relatively busy, I'd recommend making a reservation in advance.

Pasta I had was excellent. Paired it with an Italian red ripasso. Great price on the bottle. Good service. Nice atmosphere.

Nice place for an evening meal, good selection of wine and drink, good food, and the chocolate cake was so rich and perfect for sharing.

I had the duck, and the kitchen was nice enuf to let me have the beef medallion as my side. They make their own cheesecake, which Elizabeth was savy to suggest. Thanks. Everything was top notch.

Most Beautiful decor in HRM. Charming. Great service. Food is terrible.
Had the Balognese pasta dish. Had the flavour of plain boiled pasta cause that is what it was. The scant sauce would be invisible if it wasn't red. I would estimate that the meat in the entire dish to be less than half a teaspoon. Flavorless dish that I had to ask for salt and Parmesan to load it up to make it edible.also it was dried out on top like it had been under a heatlamp. My wife's pizza was 50 % bare with not even a stain of sauce. The rest had 4 slices of mushroom on it and sauce so thin you could see through it. At $22 for each of these dishes, I would rate them worth $2.also the beer bottle was barely cooler to the touch than the room and the beer inside was room temperature. Cheesecake was excellent, lite and creamy but at $12 for a thin sliver, mehhh!
It was a good excuse to linger longer in such a beautiful atmosphere.

Great atmosphere and staff. It was my first time here and we sat at the bar for appys. Although the bartender (James, I do believe) was busy making drinks, he was also very attentive and made sure we were happy! The food was great, will definitely visit again.

We went here for my birthday, and it was such a great experience. Our server was fantastic, and the food was amazing! We had the mussels to start, and they were delicious. Our pasta dishes were also very delicious. We received two glasses of complimentary prosecco.

Met my brother there for dinner. We are both well travelled and know good food. Our entrees were spectacular- doubly so given the prices which are very reasonable. The staff were friendly and attentive from start to finish. The pork rib starter was so tender and flavourful. Don’t miss it. Fantastic ambiance.

My hubby and I had such a lovely time at this Italian resto. Dinner was absolutely delicious but our dining experience was made so much better by our server, Yana. Such a beautiful and attentive lady!

From the moment we walked in to when we left, the staff were friendly and engaging without being intrusive. Our server was efficient, and was very helpful when we had questions. The food was flawless, beautifully presented, great flavour combinations and plenty of it! It was a perfect dining experience for us on our 30th Anniversary.

We just moved to Halifax and this was our first night in town. We decided to check out La Frasca for our first evening out. We did not regret our choice. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was excellent.

Beth was amazing, attentive and so personable! She recommended some great choices and really allowed us to enjoy our girls night out, never felt rushed and always felt taken care of. Such a great time, thank you!

Me and my girlfriend had a great time. The risotto croquettes were so good. The tomato puree that comes with them compliment them perfectly. There was almost no wait between appetizers and the mains. The owner looked like he really loved being there and you could tell everyone that worked there took pride in their work. I would definitely come back to this place. There were so many other temptations on the menu. Also the atmosphere in there is great too. There's nothing like sitting down in a busy restaurant and getting service like your the only ones in there. Thanks to millie for the great experience as well. Upselling us on the desert was the best thing that happened lol. "BON APPETITO"

Everything I've tried is great. The ravioli isn't the biggest portion but it's absurdly good in my opinion.

Making a reservation was so easy and as soon as I stepped in, I was greeted by a friendly hostess and warm atmosphere. Lighting was dim and our table had a nice lit candle for even more ambiance. Food was fresh and flavourful! 10/10 would go again!

We were at the restaurant last month and I am so disappointed with the service/ staff and some guests they knew staff members. Food was good, no complaints there. We booked table for 12 of us in order to celebrate my daughters birthday. Girl that was serving us was overwhelmed I could notice that and she was rude. Table beside us there was group of 5,6 people heavily intoxicated, talking so loud, screaming and laughing (someone will say they had fun) Fun is ok, we came there to have fun and to have decent night but how the night was passing by, they got louder and older lady that was with them she got so drunk that she started yelling racial words, laughing and she had hard time keeping her head up. One of the guests from that table kept going to the bar and talking to dark skin guy and server with tattoos on his arms and skinny jeans (server or manager) and kept giving him high 5. Anyway, my daughter was scared from that lady and how drunk they were. I regret not saying something to the staff as I was really hoping this is professional establishment, that would take care of the guests like that. Bill was around $1000 +, but for that amount of money we were expecting more professional staff and safe atmosphere. We were waiting long time for food and couple of the orders got mixed up and I could see staff getting angry with each other, and after that just being rude to us. Not pleasant experience, mid range portions and ok food is not worth this kind of experience!

One of my absolute favorite places to eat in the city. I've gone dozens of times and have never been disappointed. From the starters to the entree's, they're excellent, and timed perfectly throughout the evening. If you're looking for a phenomenal Italian restaurant in Halifax, they're definitely the go to!

Service was outstanding. Food was lovely. Glad to experience restaurants busy even during Covid. The only improvement I recommend would be to install noise barriers in the ceiling as it was too noisy to have a conversation. But I certainly would go back.

Very unusual to not give five stars but I guess it just wasn't our night. Took a friend out to dinner and waited forever for our meals. The veal chop wasn't crusted with porcini mushrooms, it was charred black, both sides and bitter to taste because of the charring. Ordered it medium and it was more on the well side and totally underseasoned and dry. I haven't asked for salt in years. Didn't send it back as I would be the only one eating at that point which is totally embarassing.

The food was great! Ambience was on point! And the staff were extremely kind! Would definitely recommend.

There are lots of aspects to having a great time at a restaurant, but for me fantastic food is number one. La Frasca always meets the mark. The latest visit, I had the best tasting dish that I can ever remember - it's going to be hard to choose something else next time I go.

Absolutely stunning food and alcoholic drinks. Probably best drinks we've had all year. Very impressed with the bar. Staff was super friendly and really kind. Great experience. Prices are fair and gets you what you pay for.

My go to place for when I want to dress up fancy and get great service. Everything I have tried was delicious, never had a problem with service or food the several times I have been there. Pictures are quite old from when they were taken.

One of our favourite restaurants in Halifax. You feel very valued as a guest. The food is fabulous and the servers and barstaff are amazing. The managers and staff really care about people and their food experience.

My wife and I had an amazing time here for supper. I requested in my online reservation for any special arrangement possible as it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. We arrived with a candlelite table with flowers and were poured a glass of champagne. Arriving and leaving were were wished happy anniversary by multiple staff. This was a great experience, thank you La Frasca!

I went a while before lockdown.

When open, this place has three brunch options a weekend, and this weekend it was crab Benny on focaccia bread. It was DELICIOUS. The salad was average but good, but the potatoes were underwhelming to me. That’s why only 4 stars.

I will go back again when brunch opens up again, and try whatever specials they have that day! Hoping for that Benny again.

I give 5 stars when everything's perfect. In this case, it was close. We requested the bruschetta a slightly less toasted, sadly it came near burnt. The portions may have also been a bit small for the price. But other than that, the food was excellent and the service was extremely friendly. I would likely go back.

Have been here several times, and it is always an exceptional experience! This time around we went with another couple to celebrate and our server was Jon Michael. He totally made the experience that much better. He was so helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, provided top notch service, and was all around delightful to deal with. Food was delicious as always! It was busy, and that had no impact on the wait time of the food. If anything it added to the atmosphere. Can't wait to go back again!

It's a excellent place to have Italian food and the champagne was excellent a bit expensive but portions are if a decent size

Bland food, small portions and so noisy it is difficult to have a conversation In addition a number of people waiting for a seat stood in the dining area next to our table and at times bumped into us as we dined. Very challenging to have an enjoyable experience here.

Excellent Italian restaurant! I was disappointed by the size of the plates (pizzas are smaller than usual), but they were more then tasty! For instance, they barely use mozzarella for the pizzas, they prefer more specific cheese (I was not find of gorgonzola, as it is a quite strong cheese).

I have eaten more Crème brûlée than any healthy human being should ever ingest, and I have to say La Frasca has the best version I have ever tried. The butterscotch pie, cappuccino, seafood risotto, lamb sausage linguine, scallops, and mussels were also superb. No criticisms. No complaints. Everything was delightful. If we ever come back to Halifax, we will visit again. I would have taken pictures but we ate everything too quickly.

Love this restaurant. La Frasca's does an excellent job of serving excellent and authentic Italian cuisine. Danielle was our server and she did a wonderful job of making us feel ay home!

Good mains, good drinks, calamari could have been more seasoned, excellent dessert. Two people ordered pizzas, both loved them. Another two ordered pasta, server was flexible and let us switch risotto for pasta. They both enjoyed their meals too. One ordered tuna and I ordered the seafood soup. The seafood soup was really quite good, the tomato broth is worth a try. Then, after we ate, the server brought us a little bit of several desserts for free, which was super nice. All in all a better than average experience and the price was pretty decent as well, $250 for seven of us, including drinks.

Best Italian food in Halifax. I have never ever had a bad meal. Everything is perfectly balanced, seasoned and super tasty.

Scallop appetizer was melt in your mouth and so flavorful. Every meal was delicious. Great smart casual atmosphere. Excellent attentive service. Will definately return.

This was our first visit to this place and it most definitely will not be our last. The food was incredible (check the pictures for presentation). The ravioli was beautifully done, complimented very well by the demi-glace and the duck breast was seared perfectly. The lamb burger was the best I've ever tried. Where most lamb burgers I've had were dry, this one was juicy and full of flavour. The hand cut fries were a great side as well.

The desserts were equally good. The crème brulee was not overly sweet and the hint of butterscotch was a great way to put a unique twist on this dish. The apple turnover was fresh and the gelato highlighted it.

While we didn't have any cocktails or wine, the menus were extensive and would likely have something for everyone.

All of this was served in a really nice, relaxed atmosphere and the waitstaff were prompt and very friendly. The entire experience was first rate. Remember though, this is right in the middle of Spring Garden Road, so be prepared for a lot of foot traffic and possibly some parking issues. But that's life in downtown Halifax.

If you plan to have lunch or dinner there, be prepared to pay for it, but it will be well worth it. Lunch for four including desserts and coffee came to about $200 including tip. I would happily pay it again.

I wish the staff were more acknowledging and appreciative. Other than the service, food is pretty good.

Food was amazing BUT the noise is deafening. I left with my ears ringing and half an hour later, they are still ringing.

Excellent avant-garde Italian food and great service. I had calamari with Italian sauce and fancy Mac n Cheese. Decor was higher end without being stuffy. You may need reservations. I came on a Wednesday night and was lucky to get squeezed in. Prices were reasonable.

Really great food, our waiter was excellent.the only thing i couldnt understand were these couple high top table that were essentially in the front porch or overlooking another table, just an odd seating optimization approach, so if you get one of those tables, im sorry, and youll know it, otherwise absolutely amazing meal! And again, great service!

Delicious melt in your mouth food! Would absolutely recommend to anyone for a delicious, fair priced Italian restaurant. I would go back to this place just to eat the ribs on the starter menu alone and the gnocchi melts in your mouth!

The food and service were great. The only issue that I had is that it was extremely loud inside. I could not hear the person across from me. I will try again on a week night.
