LaHave Bakery

Tried to order breakfast at 12: 02 and they said breakfast ended at 12 lol. It was laughable, others thought the same. Kids running this place have zero customer service skills. Food is great, however this turned me off.

Friendly staff. Awesome bread. Cool book store attached. Washrooms are not accessible. Up a flight of stairs. Nice place to relax for a little while with a desert. Small parking lot and you can park on the road.

Absolutely amazing breakfast and one of the most beautiful and charismatic joints I’ve seen in a while. Definitely worth a visit!

Such a beautiful spot to stop for a coffee, treat & a little poke around the shop. Always make a point of stopping in when we’re in the area.

We visited the Lehave Bakery last year while on vacation and while buying our own Nova Scotia property because we were in love with the area. We were also in love with the LeHave Bakery it had the most delicious food and the atmosphere and authenticity seemed out of a storybook. So maritime and also so unique in and of itself. Unfortunately the experience yesterday on our 2nd visit, I can only compare it to the saying, “never meet your heroes” because you’ll be disappointed. Last year when we were given buzzers I remember thinking “wow this place must be that good, it’s so busy they’ve come up with a system to combat the rush” So this time, enthusiastically we went into a line 10 deep to order sandwiches. We were given the buzzer again and told it would be only 15 minutes. This was good because we would have time to catch the ferry across to see Rose Bay, another quaint area on our list. We took the buzzer, it never buzzed and after 20 minutes we asked a staff member what happened and all she did was explain how the buzzer worked and offered no other explanation at all. We went back to the side window to see if the order was there, there was no one. After the 30 minutes we found another employee who said they would look into it and said they were having problems with the system and took the order again without admitting the order had never been taken in the first place. So an hour later we had our lunch, we’d missed 2 ferries and the sales staff didn’t offer any compensation, lacked empathy and we left feeling extremely sad the memory we had of LeHave bakery from a year ago, was not the same place. Now the the buzzers only remind me of East Side Mario’s. The casualness of the employees was once charming and now feels uncaring and a bit pretentious. What a shame this is truly a gem. The only thing we can think is something has got to give, the sandwiches are so nice but customer service is going to suffer. We acknowledge the staff is most likely overworked in the summer. If the manager is reading this, please give your staff the authority to give somebody some kind of compensation in a situation like this, ask them to try to use empathy and soften a bit when customers have to wait an hour.

Great destination spot to hang out and relax. Have a coffee and a treat or lunch. We just took our time and looked around since we had plans to eat at the osprey's nest public house. More on that later.

Bought homemade chicken pie and tourtiere that were frozen. Delicious. Also peach hot sauce is excellent.

WOW! This place is so nice. The staff are very friendly and I couldn’t believe how amazing everything tasted. We had a blueberry muffin and an apple, Chili cheddar scone. Probably the best we’ve ever had. This place is amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Their frozen hand made lasagna that we took back to the air bnb, was our favorite meal of the trip.

Great deserts and the coffee was good but the surface was horrible. We waited quite a while and even saw them serving people who entered after us. Would be 5 stars with better customer relations.

Classic South Shore spot. Whimsical, rustic, gorgeous aesthetic; delicious baked goods & prepared meals; convenient local groceria selection & bulk goods. It's very busy in the summer (tourists), but as a local I especially love this place in the colder months.

This is a GREAT place! Super nice staff, delicious lattes baked treats. Will be back to try the grocery

Stopped into this bakery while on a birthday trip in the area, and couldn’t be happier that we did! Service was absolutely amazing from all of the staff, and the food was incredible. 100% worth every penny. Coffee is fantastic, and it’s the cutest little shop. Almost like a little museum as well.
This place will hold a special place in our heart and will surely be visited everytime we come back to NS!

It was a cold and snowy day when we headed out for a drive along the coast. After getting of the ferry we saw the bakery and decided it was time for a second breakfast (like we were hobbits). It was a delightful surprise! The breakfast sandwich was easily the best one I've ever had! The hot peppers and spicy mayo were unexpected but a perfect addition. We sat in the small dinning area next to the fire and took in the eclectic decore. After eating we explored the rest of the store, wishing we had room to bring some of the amazing mustards and jams back with us

One the most beautiful bakeries I’ve ever stepped foot in! Feels like walking into a time machine as soon as you walk through the doors, coupled with extremely friendly staff, an adorable kitty, and super delicious food and drinks! I cannot wait to visit again!
