The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, they helped pick out the perfect plants. Since I don't know much about indoor gardening they made sure that the plants were easy grow, and gave me a lot of excellent tips so they will flourish

I usually visit in the spring and fall. They have a fall sale and it's good time for planting.
Very helpful young lady helped me choose a shrub for a particular spot in my yard. I was specific on what I thought I wanted and she patiently showed me several options and we choose one together.

This was an experience I had years ago, but it is still bothering me as the manager (Dorothy I believe her name was) would not give me the name of the owner to pass along the complaint to. I see the owner has commented here so maybe there is hope I will get a response. I had purchased a tree for $279 early in the season. They told me I needed to leave it there a little while for it to get healthier and they would call when I could pick up. No one ever called. In the fall, when I still hadn't heard, I called them, to express I no longer wanted the tree. They said I could get store credit. I didn't want anything else from the store, so requested reimbursement. (They had no reason they hadn't called, just it must have fallen through the cracks.) The manager refused. I asked to speak to the owner. I was told no, the owner didn't deal with complaints. In fact, she refused to even give me the owner's name. Lakeland basically stole my money. I wish I'd been more aggressive in terms of getting a resolution when it happened. Disgusting customer service though. Get everything in writing. It's a shame.since then I've spent thousands on my garden and not a penny from Lakeland.

They always have a great selection of plants although some can be a little pricey. I sometimes have trouble find pricing on some plants as not all are labeled or have signage. There is usually someone around to help though.

Some of their prices are marked up 300% compared to other stores for the same product. They do not accept full returns only store credit.
Don’t make the same mistake as I did.

Very sad to see business go down hill, weeds everywhere, no shrubs to show off their wears outside for curb appeal, dead trees standing in back for all to see. Did have cactus and orchid soil that I went in for.

Favorite nursery in darmouth, staff are friendly well informed and the store is very well stocked when in season. They have tropicals that are hard to source and fruit bushes that even I (a formally trained farmer) have never seen before. Well done guys!

Beautiful selection of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, and more. Well worth the shopping trip recently - I can't believe I didn't know this great place existed.

Whatever you do, don’t buy trees from this vendor. I bought 20 expensive little trees to form a hedge on my property. They have been planted as per instructions and well cared for. One has perished and will interrupt the hedge. I took my receipt back to Lakeland to get a warranty tree. The manager tells me the trees are warranted for one year. What kind of a warranty is that? They offered to order me one at a huge cost, as the trees are now 3 feet tall. I called in an arborist to assess the tree. He said that these trees are not native to this area and was surprised that any of them survived. I am not happy about this as I invested $2000 in this project including supplies. This does not include any labour to carefully plant these trees. If you want to purchase and plant multiple trees, call an arborist, as Lakeland does not have one on staff. There are lots of choices for landscape suppliers. I would buy from anyone except these guys, as they do not stand behind their products. I have purchased from others and had issues. All issues were resolved professionally. That is, except the issue with Lakeland. Oh, and Krown rust control in Halifax does a much more thorough job of undercoating as well.
I see that the manager has replied to my review. As I trust a trained arborist over a store manager, I am sticking with the arborist. I bought 20 trees. They weren’t healthy when I bought them. I nursed them along and one died. The others aren’t the best. I was asking for one tree to maintain my hedge structure. So, once again the consumer, loyal customer loses. Its called customer service people! Oh, and don’t buy anything here unless you are absolutely sure you aren’t going to return it. They will only give you a store credit. You can’t even get your own money back. Product is much cheaper elsewhere. And don’t forget, the Krown dealer in Halifax does a far better job of undercoating your vehicle.
