I got the seafood linguine, it was excellent, big chunks of lobster and lots of scallops! Very tasty.

Best chowder I have had in ages. However the Lamb dinner was absolutely the best ever. Highly recommended.

It’s not what it was! Rooms old, dusty, floors uneven. Outside the paint is flaking off, inside smoke detector missing and many items plugged into a cheap power bar. Lanes always used to be our “go to” in the area. Never again the only plus was its great location.

Great location within walking distance of museums, trails, local shops. Older building with lots of history. Stayed in both an inside access King and outside access Double Bed.

Seems nice so far had to Chase down the Front desk clerk behind the bar in the restaurant. Other guests ask me with the same issue. It's a small place I was not surprised.

Sadly this place has gone downhill since changing owners. The food is all frozen thaw heat and serve. Even the fish and chips are premade frozen from a box. My daughter had diarrhea for two days after eating a burger there. An Indian couple bought the place and am sure if they completely changed the menu to Indian cuisine it would be fantastic and popular but they are failing at North American cuisine for sure. We used to frequent as we go out to eat 4-5 times a week but will not be going back unless we hear of major changes to the food. We really wanted to enjoy it but after a half dozen poor meals we are done.

The room was great and close to everything. Definitely old world charm with updated finishes. Within walking distance to centre of town.
There was some confusion at check in that was a bit annoying, but everything else made up for it. We all have bad days.

One of the best motel in small town of Liverpool. Two brother who basically run that place were awesome, super helpful, hardworking & very accommodating.

The owner needs to make some very urgent updates if it is to survive. It was in its heyday a great place to stay. It is very unfair on the staff.
There is no one on site at night!

Young man at the front deck was very nice and pleasant 'Nik", waitress very unpleasant, after we ordered she only came back to bring our meal and the bills. Never ask if we wanted more water, guess we were supposed to order "drinks" to get attention. My sister's baked potato wasn't fully cooked, she had to take it up to the waitress to ask to have it cooked some more, when it came back after she had just about finished her meal (she had to stop eating to wait for the potato) it still wasn't cooked through. We had to go up to ask to pay our bills and she refused, told an employee to tell us to pay at the front desk. We went on a Tuesday and they were not busy. Will not eat there again.

Very nice hotel, although could use some work on exterior. Very charming vintage interior and well appointed rooms. Front desk staff was exceptional, friendly, helpful, efficient. The restaurant was very good, excellent menu choices and above average food at a reasonable price

Ate lunch here. Was pleasantly surprised at the view from the patio. Service was super quick and the food was tasty. Would definitely visit again.

The restaurant was fantastic! Great food and the wait staff were wonderful. The rooms however were lacking in every way except water pressure. The bed and bedding were terrible. The benches outside would have provided better comfort. The shower curtain was disgusting and the bathroom was generally filthy. Hardly “deluxe” accommodations

Great location, use to be a good restaurant but something has changed. Tried to reserve let message and no reply.received call 30 minutes before reservation.too late to go then made new reservations for next evening. Next day wanted to changed the time from 5 to six. No reply, left message and never got a reply.very disappointed. When we did eat the service was great but our food was cold.

Ideal location for our road trip next stage. Mot much doing in town. Staff wete lovely and restaurant food very good too on a busy friday night.

Had breakfast on Sunday morning, there was ONE server on (I think his name is Milan) and he had about ten tables. He was very friendly and polite and the food was DELICIOUS and very fairly priced. Coffee was really great too! Will 100% return:)

Room Okay. Bed comfy and shower has good water pressure.
But.this inn is no longer owned by the Lanes and you can tell!
Reservations for 7: 30 arrived 7: 32 ordered and well it is now 8: 18 and no food. We ordered Appetizers and still no food.

5 stars would totally recommend! Charming Inn. Room was huge and excellent. Very clean. The restaurant is fantastic. Great location, walking distance to many amenities!

Awesome dining experience! Best scallops we’ve had on our maritimes trip and we just came from Digby. Perfectly prepared. The live music was an unexpected treat. Service was fast and friendly.

Check in was quick and pleasant. The room was below standard. The furniture looked like it was purchased at a second hand hotel furniture auction house. We spilt some water on the floor.when I cleaned it up the towel was black. This is a clear indication that the floor was not cleaned properly. The shower had a used bar of soap on the shelf. This hotel is not good value for money spent. I realize Air BnB have taken a percentage of guests away from this establishment. Instead of running the business into the ground. Compete upgrade the rooms create an ambience. The location is outstanding.with a little love and imagination this could be a real gem of a property. The current management needs to wake up before all potential guests avoid this property. Also wanted to get an early morning coffee at the coffee shop in the hotel and it was closed. There was a coffee machine in the room but no coffee or suitable condiments and only 1 cup.how cheap is that? You got me once but never again!

So, this only involves the restaurant as we did not stay at the hotel. Food was excellent, I can't take away from that in any way. The service, however, was horrible. When you have to go to your server who's standing, doing nothing, to remind her to bring our drinks, there may be an issue. Perhaps caused by the apparent labor shortage, your experience may be different.

Dining room is charming, staff are friendly food was great. Reasonable $$. Kids loved the grilled cheese. Haddock chowder was scrumptious. Looking forward to going again soon

Went for lunch. A staple on the south shore for years. Had chowder and it was excellent. I really liked the glass quart bottles of cold water. Nice touch.

Great place, rooms are clean, well equipped and spacious. The restaurant is lovely, delicious food and very friendly service. We were lucky to be here on a live music day, Irish fiddle music, perfectly fitting the place and history here.

The inn made an error and used my reservation and credit card information on someone else's name. When I told them there was an error they tried to accuse me of lying and trying to steal the room. I showed them my reservation, I'd and credit card and they still accused me of being dishonest. Once they realized they made the error they didn't apologize. When I got to the room there was s used dirty face cloth hanging on the shower, no coffee for the coffee maker and dirt under the bed. The hallway smelled like a cat's litter box
