Little Lake Family Campground

We became seasonal at Little Lake Campground about 4 years ago. By far this is the best place in which we stayed. The owners James and Lynn and their son Peter are the friendliest people and are always smiling.they are always there to help when something goes wrong. We also have met a lot of friendly people here as well. Everyone willing to help each other. You can never get bored at this campground.always activities going on. Yummy breakfasts and theme dances. This place is our second home.

Au premier coup d'œil, à l'arrivée, le camping semble un peu délabré. Ça mérite d'être rafraîchi car ça ne reflète pas bien la réalité du terrain. Le site est bien et le personnel hyper courtois. Un peu isolé de la civilisation.

Where do I even start? Okay, first of all it isn’t a kid friendly camp site the play area is old, rusty and probably built in the late 80s, the arcade isn’t an arcade and I’m not even gonna mention the kids library.there is not a lot of shade, the water spots aren’t even a lake, it’s a pond lol! Beautiful to look at by the way, but that’s pretty much it’s purpose. Washrooms aren’t the best, very stinky if I say, there’s a very much lack of cleaning around for sure, the wifi works if you’re right outside the office, the pool is okay, no pets allowed.if you want to watch your kids swim you have to wait outside the gate. We booked for the weekend + 1 day and we didn’t even last 24 hours and of course we didn’t get a refund. If you are looking for a place to park your RV/trailer so you can spend your days exploring the beautiful Lunenburg then this is your place to go to.

Sites have very little privacy between them. For the cost of an unappealing site, you’d think you’d at least get a shower included in the cost.

Unfortunately, not too many other options for camping. Location is convenient.

I spent one night here with my family while visiting the area. For the price paid ($57) the facilities should be better (no warm water to wash dishes) and the showers should be free! We have since stayed in other campgrounds that were half the price and had free hot showers. We had a site by the water, and while pretty, I would not want to be here in the summer when the sites are full since I would find myself basicsly a foot away from my neighboring camper. On the bright side, the owners are very pleasant and the campground is close to Lunenburg.

Following a road block due to an accident on the road, we could not go to the camping reserved that night. We called to ask if it was possible to get a refund since the road to get there was blocked for a least 4 hours and it was 18h30. They told us that it was not necessary to cancel, that there will be no refund and to just not show up since it doesn’t matter for them. The person speaking with us was not nice to talk at all and cut the phone call short.
It’s regrettable for our money but, we were glad that we did not go there at all and not have to deal with this kind of person. It was the first time in our trip to nova scotia that we met someone that despicable. Instead to go at this camping, we suggest you to go in a provincial park. It’s cheaper and includes a bunch of services!

This place is actually really nice. Like I don’t camp that often but this place was really homely the owners were really nice. The view was like nothing I’ve seen before because I’m a city boy but like it was really beautiful and scenic.
Hope to come again next summer

This place was amazing! Staffs were super friendly and all the facilities were clean and organized. Highly recommended!

Small sites but clean and quiet and very close to Lunenburg.

Based on the reply from the owner I felt I needed to add. The small sites isn’t really a complaint as I picked the site after being on it last year. I really enjoy this campground and the owners can’t do enough to help you.

When (not if) I come back next year I will happily take the same site again. It backs on trees and is quiet and friends and I always have a great time.

Could be more welcoming of guests when they arrive after 6 pm. Should consider spacing out tents instead of putting tenters all in adjacent sites when there are empty sites available.

Its a family campground.

People looking for luxury look elsewhere.
40 ft class A could be a problem if you only like tarmac.

Lovely clear pottable water out of the taps scattered around.we had a non seviced site for $35 a night for 2 nights.

Price reflects viscinity to Lunenburg which is very touristic

Hosts were nice and we enjoyed our stay

James and Lynn present themselves as nice people / hard working, committed to their business plan…don’t get in the way of it or you will discover their mercenary side…as a person with life perspective and international exposure… they are questionable as humans…

The layout of the campground was easy to navigate to our campsite. Although, the 7$ for wet wood made the experience very difficult to enjoy. Multiple people around us had the same issue of wet wood and not being able to keep a fire going. We ultimately ended up not staying… firewood is suppose to be dried.

Loved our weekend at Little Lake. They had a breakfast available to guests, amazing fireworks show, and a dance! We could not lose! It is such a relaxing place to go. The washrooms are super clean, they have their waste disposal areas set up perfectly. The owners are kind and friendly. Just the best weekend! Thank you.

Beautiful, and well maintained. Very scenic location anot not too farm from other beautiful, historical places. Very helpful staff

An awesome camp ground for the seasonal campers, looked liked like they were in enjoying them selves.nice pool and playground area; questionable for the daily campers. Looks likes the new owners are putting in allot of effort in improving the grounds. Only thing I didn't like was very little space in maneuvering with larger Riggs particularly around entrance area and down into the B and P lines. The B lines road is narrow maneuvering into sites can be tricky if there is allot of campers around. Good that the sites are angled for backing in.the real problems comes when leaving, the road is a dead end, no turn around area or looped road; its, OK when there are not too many other trailers in the P line, one can pass through one of the pull through's. Suggestion to owners is the make the road behind the pull though sites looped. Camp map does show a road running from back parking to the play ground area loop, this route was blocked off. Looking forward in seeing how this campground will look next summer, with all the work the new owners are doing.

The new owner has been managed the camp site very clean and kindly. My child had a very happy time there with other kids and the sunset at lakeside was so beautiful. Both the bathroom and shower rooms were very clean. It is good place for kids and family.

This campground was amazing! Super clean and friendly! I could not believe how clean the washrooms were, and they even had a dish washing station! The new owner have done an amazing job! They even had an amazing fireworks show for Canada Day! It was a lovely time and we will be back!

Didn’t get an opportunity to stay here. Phoned in afternoon to see if they had sites and they did. Website says open till 9pm. Showed up at gate at 7: 20 and closed. Phoned the number on the the door as the sign said and was informed they were closed and wouldn’t come to let us in. First negative experience in 2 months rving in the Maritimes.

Very expensive whit tax included for a tent and 2 services 46$. And you have to paid for the shower, toilet is a outhouse pit except where the showers are.

My extended family and I (12 in total) stayed here July 19-22 and had the best time. The campground was quiet and the pool was amazing (it was very hot while we were there so we went in the pool twice a day every day.) The outhouses were nice and clean.
My only complaint is there were no garbage cans on the sites.
We would definitely stay there again.

The place was super family friendly and was in such a convenient location. The owners and staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. There was also a variety of activities to do so you can enjoy the place even without the planning or you can opt to relax and enjoy the beautiful view! Would definitely come back!

Needed a place to hang our hammocks and this place had trees. The only thing wrong was the price of a 'primitive site was twice as much as any of the campgrounds we have stayed at on this trip!

I had a wonderful stay at this campground. The tent sites I stayed in was quiet and well-maintained even during the weekend. The newly renovated washrooms were very clean and the campers and the owners were friendly. I would definitely return next season!

Accueil chaleureux. Ce sont de jeunes, nouveaux propriétaires qui travaillent très fort pour améliorer le tout. Belle piscine et beaux sites. Près de Mahone Bay et Lunenburg.

The first impression arriving at little lake is a bit disappointing. The entrance is not appealing. Once inside, the sites are spacious and clean, new wiring, clean water and the pool condition is excellent. Great for families or travellers passing through. Everything is clearly marked. Overall this is a far better choice than "the other" campground in lunenburg.

I recommend this place! There is a lake you can swim and kayak. There are also arcade rooms. It was a great experience for me.

The view is like nothing you've ever seen. I still have dreams to this day of how beautiful the sun would shine across the well maintained campground. Although I have been mostly sheltered my whole life, having minimal contact with human beings, the owners of the campsite welcomed me with open arms and truly opened my eyes to the experiences one can have with others. Friendly staff, good space, and lots of activities, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a fun relaxing time, while enjoying a magnificent view!

Owners were kind, however we would not go again. We booked over phone and was asked if we wanted to pay $2 extra for lake view, we didn’t need anything fancy so we said no the other was fine. However upon arrival, our site was so overgrown with weeds and long grass. The bathrooms were not in good condition. We intended to shower here but the showers were not well maintained and we both passed on that. It appeared like they were expanding the park and we got thrown in the not ready section. Price with tax was around $42. Have definitely paid less for much better.
