I wanted guitar lessons and contacted this store as they advertised them. They just got unresponsive after I clarified that I want online lessons. Very rude.

Fantastic customer service! I brought my keyboard in for repairs today and mentioned that this was the 3rd time that I was experiencing the issue. Kevin went out of his way to help me and I was able to swap my current keyboard for a new one of the same model.

My 8 year old son currently has an electric drum kit but he has been doing very well so we decided to go shopping to upgrade to an acoustic set. Called the store in advance and they told us there was no problem. To come try them out.

Showed up in store with my son and was immediately dismissed. Before he even had a set of sticks in his hand, he was instructed that he can't play on them. After the associate's rude and dismissive attitude, I explained to the associate that we are indeed shopping. How can we be expected to make a purchase if he can't hit the drums? Left the store and took our business elsewhere. I understand if you dont want people off the street walking into the store to hit the drums but, in this case, the problem wasn't the message. It was how the message was conveyed. Poor customer service.

Very good experience. I shop with my daughter to buy a violin bow. The staff is very nice to explain different results with different level and brand. We can try that out before buying. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Very disapointed. I ordered a piano without being told it was a floor model. I probably would have bought it anyway even it is a floor model. They only started to offer me a 5% discount when I started questioning about the product and the fact that I wasn't being told it was a floor model. Some of the staff were very arrogant. Overall, very disappointed!

I’ve been dealing with long and mcquade for four decades. In Toronto until now. I know John Long to name drop. Go to place for any professional musician.

Signed up for weekly vocal lessons, did them for 3 weeks without any issues, then out of no where told me I had to start paying monthly and that I had to pay $96 instead of the $24 that I had been paying. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to come up with an extra $72 within a week for extra curricular activities so was obligated to cancel my lessons, and am going to be going somewhere else with more reasonable payment requirements.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Offers “purchases on the run” option as well! I broke a string 30 minutes before my lessons. I called and they had it waiting for me. However I recommend spending time browsing too!

I can not say enough about this location!

I was looking for a very specific guitar, and this location was the last one in Canada that had it in stock! After a few email exchanges, I purchased the guitar in April 2020, and it was a smooth, easy process. When the guitar arrived, it was in perfect, brand new condition - however, it was missing the CoA (Certificate of Authenticity). This was important to me, because it is a Signature Artist Series guitar.

I emailed Pat at this location about this, and we found that for some reason, it wasn't included in the packaging. Due to Coronavirus, everything had been slower, whether it was because factories were closed, staff shortages, etc. So contacting the manufacturers about getting one has been a slow process, but after emailing back and forth with Pat for the past year, we finally have gotten somewhere, at it is on it's way!

I am so impressed by Pat and the whole team at this Long & McQuade location for going far above and beyond for over a year after I made my purchase - something that most places wouldn't do for you! Did I mention that I live on the other side of the Country? You can rest assured that the team here cares about you, and that you will be taken good care of when purchasing from Halifax Long & McQuade, no matter where you're purchasing from! Highly recommended!

Long & McQuade is a wonderful store! The staff is very helpful and specialized for each section. For example guitar's, keyboards, drums and other popular instruments.

To top it off they have financing through their store so you can access instruments and sorts that might be otherwise out of you budget.

After being dissapointed by the dartmouth long and mcquade store few months back, had some buzz issues with this boy, i took it to halifax long and mcquade store cunard street for set up. I am so much thankful for the wonderful setup and efforts they put into sound melody.they have earn my business in future.thanks so much to the courteous staff and team great job during the pandemic.

Been there twice in two days and both times were a smooth experience. Very helpful and friendly staff. The first time was a pickup for an online order. The second was to test a product and purchase. Best of all, both items had the same price I found on Amazon so I was able to get the best price and buy local.

The staff were friendly, and knowledgeable, one of the best selections of guitars I've seen in a while. I was looking for a part for my Gretsch, nobody else had it, I was just about to call the manufacturer, when I gave L&M a call, they had what I was looking for at a very reasonable price

I'm not a musician myself but have a family full of them. Long & McQuade is an incredible resource. Very, very knowledgeable employees who are very service oriented. Here's an example: My kids were returning from outside Atlantic Canada and my son asked to rent a digital drum kit to pass the time. I picked it up from a very friendly employee and when my son started assembling it, it was apparent there was a tool missing that was important for assembling it. He called Long & McQuade and they realized they forgot to put in the tool. He spoke with the guy I rented the kit from. We couldn't go and get the tool because we were self-isolating, so they had it couriered over here within an hour. Amazing.
