Rented a used guitar, it was clearly used because it had a used tag on it. When I returned it, I was questioned about some small marks on the guitar body. I said those marks were already there, but they lied and said it was a new guitar right out of the box. Will never go back to this location again.

I've always done my own footwork to make concerts at my schools work. L&M has made the process easy. It's a load of work, but I've had good shows, well amped and well lit because of these fine folks.

I went in looking for rotary valve oil for my trombone and they did not have it in stock. Rather than apologize and tell me when it would be in stock, the associate just kind of shrugged and told me how many other branches have it in stock. So the solution was for me to drive across town to get something I needed when I was already at a music store. Great. He mentioned that it wasn't in stock because they don't sell much of it. So I guess if you don't sell a lot of something, don't bother stocking it at all? Strange business model

Good at times, however. Lately the staff have been passive aggressive, know it alls. When a customer inquiries about a 3500 dollar guitar, don't try to peddle a thousand dollar one to them, it's bad business. And when a customer states that they don't like the sound of a particular instrument, disagreeing with them is not the way to go.

I went in looking for campfire percussion instruments to accompany a ukelele. The staff were super helpful and showed me tips and tricks on how to play several instruments. Very friendly and helpful.

This is HRM's top music shop in my experience - staff practice a culture of friendliness, accessibility and knowledge-sharing that is outstanding. Service is prompt and helpful. Awesome all-round. Always leave the store happy and with the exact right gear I need.

I want to give Paul a big shout out. I didn't pay attention to the time and we were in the store right before they closed. I know, I'm the worst kind of person lol. I had some questions and he was more than happy to answer them. I never felt rushed even tho the store was closing in less than 10 minutes. I know they're making money but we all hate when customers keep us late. So I really appreciated that. He even made sure I had fresh strings. Very nice guy and clearly loves what he does. 5 stars for our favorite l&m. I ended up leaving with a fender strat.and I couldn't be happier.

Went in to try to sell an instrument which I had bought at Long and McQuade less than a year ago. The guy with the glasses and buzz cut was very condescending and defensive. He gave me a low figure, which I was prepared to take and was well aware it would be lower than I might expect. I wasn't arguing with him at all, I just asked simple questions. Yet for whatever reason he was very passive agressive. Because of this man's attitude towards me I decided to leave and sell it at a pawn shop instead, and I'd like to mention I was treated a lot nicer there. I'm not going to do business in a place that has employees that talk to people like that. Will definitely not be coming back.

Great friendly staff. VERY helpful. Lots of different/unique musical instruments. Going back for hubby's birthday.
