Look Ho Ho Restaurant

For the price, this is one of the worst "Chinese" restaurants I've ever been to.
The staff are decent, no issues at all with them, so hopefully noone who works there is going to get super offended over my review. The issue is the food. It is NOT good. Even eating in the dining room and receiving food straight from the kitchen doesn't help. The ginger beef was tough and overcooked, the chicken fried rice was dry whilst the chicken bits were greasy, the chow mein tasted like dish soap. Just zero redeeming qualities when it comes to the slop this place serves. (And charges a premium for I might add)
Perhaps my being from out west has led me to having unreasonable expectations or something? I'm not sure. All I know is that I've never had "Chinese food" this bad in my entire life. (And I've eaten cat burgers at the Grade A restaurant in downtown Vancouver)
In my humble opinion, stay away from Look Ho Ho if you want tasty food and a pleasant dining experience.

Great Chinese food here overall, the beef fried rice is good, beef and broccoli and egg rolls were a hit, I did find the sweet and sour chicken a little dry. Staff were good, the power was out when I arrived for pick up and she could still do the transaction. Definitely a solid 8.5 or 9/10 overall

The food is very good, however the new owners have decreased the size of portions Slightly from what the previous owners portion. The food cooled of much faster than my previous visits, and I noticed the waiter carried the plates out in their hands, they couldn't do that before as the plates used to be hot to the touch. Overall a good place to eat.

Their service is great, very friendly and welcoming, food was great for the 3 of us.
We had take out and didn't eat it for over an hour and it was still very good.

Food quality not like normal Chinese food.would not recommend. Look for other options with better reviews. Vegetables were raw uncooked, noodles unseasoned and fried rice full of soya sauce. Chicken balls came full of cherry sauce my kids prefer them dry.

Got very sick not even after 30 minutes of eating here, called them up they didn't care, not recommended

I love it here! My favorite waitress is Lorie. Always so cheerful and wonderful! Food tastes amazing every time we get it! 10/10 would recommend!

The food is not as good as it was under previous owners. This was my favorite Chinese food restaurant. I was very disappointed. My food was cold and the eggs rolls are not as good as they once were. The chow mein been sprouts were still very raw and could not have been cooked very long. There is a huge issue with trying to find a place to park. I will not be going back anymore. I was customer since 1980.

I ordered take away and received some of the most bland and flavourless food I’ve ever eaten. The spring rolls were filled with a mush meaty paste. The fried rice was genuinely just rice and soy sauce, the chicken balls would have been good had they not come already soaking in sauce, and the vegetable chicken dish was just bean sprouts with a mouth full of chicken.

Half of the spare ribs were to tough to eat.
The egg roll looked half cooked blonde in colour and was cold.
This is my 3rd time hoping things would get better but they haven't so it's my last time.
It's a real shame, I grew up with Look Ho Ho and ate tons of there food until it was sold. Not the same.

Amazing food and service. Food was hot, delicious and plentiful.
It’s not hard to see they have been in this business for decades, the staff and owners are wonderful.

Ordered takeout and didn't even get enough meat in the fried rice and chow mein to feed a mouse.

This is a long established Chinese food restaurant in peninsular Halifax, often cited as having the best meat egg rolls in the city. The interior decor is rather basic but very clean with more of a diner ambience. It's my go to place when I have a craving for Chinese food.

It was the first time when i ordered from look ho ho, but the food was not fresh at all (the rice was I live nearby, but next time i will order something else

We come all the way from east Dartmouth because the food is Excellent, portions are generous! Love their Subgum Wonton but ALL of their food is expertly prepared and reasonably priced!
