Lydgate Corner Store

What an awesome little shop with all sorts. The staff were great and even recommended a great little restaurant to have supper along our travels.

Also called Lydgate Lock, Stock and Barrel General Store.
One of the best corner stores you could ask for. Huge variety of items, from food, hardware, gas, etc.
Everyone seems super nice but that could just be they're Nova Scotians.
It's about 5 minutes from Lockeport.
I'm new to the area but would highly recommend it.

This tiny hardware/grocery/gas station/ice cream shop really has everything. It’s incredibly organized and the people who work there are so very helpful! There were many times I’ve gone in there and thought “oh they won’t have this. ” and I was wrong. Don’t know what I’d do without the Lock Stock!

Nice local country general store with a wide variety of products. Gas was competitively priced. Owners and staff were friendly and helpful.

Friendly people. Lots of good prices in par with grocery store, but know your prices. Milk is almost $10 with no sign. We bought it there twice before realizing. Would go without before paying that much again. Also bought bread that we thought was to for $5 because that's what the sign said, later we realised we had paid $3.89 each. It's great that we don't have to drive further for supplies, but some conveniences are priced very high, which I'm sure is the same as convenient store prices. Not their fault, I should have asked for prices and clarified sign interpretation.

The owners and their staff go above and beyond to assist you. A small store that handles groceries, ice cream, hardware, gardening supplies and gas. If they don't have what you are looking for they will certainly try to get it for you.

Just arrived at our new home down the road from this wonderful store and were in 14 days Lockdown due to our arrival in Nova Scotia from Ontario. This wonderful store delivered food for us and treated us with courtesy and kindness. Excellent fresh salad ingredients! Wonderful choices! And extreme polite friendliness. Made our 14 days fly. Thank you. Over and over again. Thank You So Much!

Great ice cream selection and friendly staff. You are always greeted with a smile and their staff is willing to help in any way they can. They have a wide selection of items; we've bought everything from ice cream to screws to a toaster! Since Covid they've gone above and beyond to make their space safe for customers.

So Cool you don't see this kind of store anymore, it has a little bit of everything. Even things you didn't know you need.

Big box stores could learn a lot from a small business like this.
Great people and great products. It's worth the drive from Halifax.
