This place is a unique, quaint and very accommodating experience! The food and service were excellent! Very friendly people! Also the cleanliness was impeccable! I would highly recommend this to anyone traveling through this area!

This homestyle Inn Sits higher on a hill, next to a Mother of Sorrows pioneer Shrine and gift shop Mabou is the spot to be every evening when the sunsets.views are breathtaking.the staff here are very friendly, kind and caring, just like all other NovaScotians… I recommend this to anyone traveling for the Celtic Colors.or even if you comevto visit the Gaelic college up the road. Apartments are also available per night call and ask for availability &pricing.
A quaint little fishing spot nearby, where the locals also swim.come to Cape Breton for a stay, remember your heart will NEVER Leaveever

First of all Dave and Donna are the nicest people EVER! We were visiting from the states and Canadians are just the nicest people ever! Dave went out of his way multiple times to help us out. We stayed for two nights during stormy weather on a bicycle tour around Cape Breton, and what a treat! We loved the Mabou River Inn and we loved Mabou. Our room (#7) was clean, beautiful and with a very comfortable bed; bathroom was just across the hall, also immaculately clean and spacious. Laundry and a kitchenette with fridge came in handy. The full breakfast was delicious and made to order! I think we ate three meals at the Red Shoe Pub and saw music on two nights- so much fun! Great little grocery store in town and we enjoyed the beach at West Mabou park. Highly recommend this town and definitely stay at the Inn!

The folks at the Mabou River Inn were absolutely amazing! Not only did they accommodate my last minute reservation, they greeted me with a smile. The room was perfect and the bed was comfortable. Really enjoyed my time out on the deck during the evening, even met a new doggy friend. They have the best breakfast, the food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. Loved the chit chat during breakfast (as a solo traveler this made the place feel like home) especially the recommendations for stuff to do in the area. I recommend this Inn to anyone in the area. Keep up the awesome service.

Lovely inn, great location, clean, friendly and great breakfast. My husband is still talking about the homemade porridge bread.

Dave made us feel right at home. Lovely clean room in a perfect location with a very tasty homemade breakfast included with the room. Highly recommend staying here. Walking distance to the Red Shoe Pub for live music and nice dinner.

The host was over the top helpful. He makes the best scrambled eggs I’ve had! This was accompanied by thick slices of homemade bread.

An excellent place to stay for location, food and accommodations. Dave was a great host, welcoming us and allowing us to check in early. Our room was very spacious and clean. Good water pressure and hot water on demand for the shower. A separate common area with a large TV was available, if you did not want to use the couch and TV in your room. There was a lovely trail within walking distance that we enjoyed. It followed the road for a bit then a small body of water and stream. Saw two bald eagles up close. Breakfast in the morning was freshly made by Dave and plentiful. He makes a great porridge bread, which I highly recommend having for French toast. Good value for the cost of the room and breakfast.

This is a fine place to spend a night in Mabou. The breakfast was also very nice and included home baked bread. The property lies just next to a great, scenic walking trail and the Inn is also a short walk away from an excellent pub.
