Maritime Express Cider Co.

Such a cool location. The building that houses Maritime Express Cider Co.is spectacular. We had bennys and a burger - both were delicious. The cider was also delicious and they also have a decent local craft beer selection. We will definitely go again.

Gluten-free options. Highly recommend the two patties hamburger and fries. Great selection of ciders. I'm definitely going to come back again.

Two for brunch. Eggs Benny for both. His the Traditional, mine the Roasted Tomato. The sweet potato biscuits had a lovely flavour but were dry and crumbly. My “roasted tomato” was not roasted. It may have seen 30 seconds on a grill and had no flavour. Poached eggs were done as requested but the Hollandaise was coolish. The hash browns were very good.

Wait staff were great but we were not impressed when we paid by card and the automatic choices for tips started at 20% progressing to 25% & 30%. My husband and I both felt that this was inappropriately high.

A Sunday Brunch that was OK but not GREAT!

Loved this place. Got two flights of cider so we could try all 8 that they had available. Not a bad one in the bunch. The menu was really hard to choose from because everything sounded amazing. I got the chicken sandwhich and it was great. The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly. The staff were super friendly as well

We live in Sackville (over an hour away) but I would say this is the spot we have frequented the most in the past 3.5 years of dating.
The ciders are ever changing with lots of regular favourites, I love variety and stopping in to have a flight and try their new creations!
The food is AMAZING! So consistently delicious, fresh, and creative.
The atmosphere is unmatched, always such a chill vibe, in a beautiful old property.
We participated in their NYE set menu dinner 2 years in a row. It was a perfect evening both times.
The staff is also super friendly and accommodating, we wanted to sit outside and they went and got us chairs, then we were cold as the sun went down and they kindly brought us inside.
I wish I could give them 6 stars, because they deserve it!

Cider is excellent and flights are very affordable! There are also board games if you want to stay a while! Only downside was servers weren’t happy that we were only there for flights and not food and made it clear. More of a restaurant with cider than a place to go for drinks!

Usually we’re so happy when we visit this establishment! So much so, we make a special trip from the city. Tonight, it was barley mediocre at best. Our service was great, however our order was wrong (fixed quickly) but once it came back, our frites were cold, the burger buns seems to just come out of the refrigerator and the chicken was kind of dipped in the hot honey sauce, but mostly not.

The temperature of the restaurant was insane. It’s usually a little chilly, but tonight it was an inferno. Our server did mention the air conditioner was broken, so that’s likely the cause, but the heater was pumping and it was unbearable and we couldn’t wait to leave, so we scarfed down some food, skipped dessert and got the cheque.

We do really love the atmosphere and the building is beautiful! A bad night isn’t the end of the world and we’ll likely go back next time we’re in the area, but this is the second time our chicken burgers were…meh…I’m not sure on the special trips anymore. Given the price of fuel and food, we can find something else in the city. Maybe next time, we will try the breakfast menu instead!

For our wedding we were searching for a reception venue that could accommodate our guest list (around 70), reflected our style and could cater delicious food. We found the perfect fit with Maritime Express Cider Co.in Kentville. Genevieve, Katie and staff were prompt and professional in answering our questions, allowing us time to explore the different spaces available to book and even accommodating a food tasting so we could best choose from their catering menu. Setting up our reception was a breeze as Katie was on hand to help with any questions. We rented linens from the Wedding Vogue, which is conveniently located in the same building. It was easy to decorate as the ballroom is beautiful and full of character. The reception flowed perfectly with the buffet set up (with staff to serve), our own bar and audio equipment available for speeches and music. If you are looking for a space to host an event, I would highly recommend Maritime Express. With a variety of historic spaces, professional staff and unforgettable food, you won’t regret it!

Was looking for a place to try some Annapolis Valley cider while in NS for a quick visit. As a bonus many menu items are gluten free. Our server was great, the food was delicious, and the cider is fantastic.

Poorly laid out floor plan, elevator doors would not open, furniture and floors were very sticky. Thank goodness the burger was delicious

A truly beautiful restaurant/bar in a wonderful old building. The food and drink were wonderful and the service was great. A really nice spot. As much a feast for the eyes as the belly.

Really impressed with the quality and variety of ciders at Maritime Express. The “Snowed In” was perfectly tart and sweet for a strong 8% cider. There are many food dishes I’d like to try but I can say the fish cakes and chicken tacos were good.

Had a fabulous meal on the patio. My banhmi was delicious! The rest of the fam had burger, shrimp tacos and corn dogs. All yummy! No complaint! Great food! Great service! Great cider!

Super neat atmosphere with a great selection of food and drink. Shawarma fries were delicious, great balance of flavours. Buddha bowl was hearty and filling, brusselsprouts had that nice crispy charred outside with a still firm but moist interior. We will be back if ever we're in Kentville again.

Absolutely love this place. My meal was amazing; presentation, taste, price, atmosphere and service were all fantastic. My first visit will not be the last!

A great place for cider, beer, solid food and friendly staff. The historic building adds to the vibe and is definitely worthy of a 'gram photo or two. Their seasonal cider right now is a Strawberry Basil which is delicious. For those travelling with dogs, the patio is dog friendly with a nice breeze, umbrellas for shade, and water for the pups.

We enjoyed our night out. Great staff and atmosphere.
We tried the Top Hat Burger and the Big Bama Slamma, both with frites. The sandwiches and the frites were amazing and the meals were amply sized.
Looking forward to going back to try out other offerings.

Maritime Express Cider Co.hosted our wedding reception in the fall of 2021, and we have nothing but positive things to say. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly (and excited for us!), and many of our guests complimented the overall professionalism that was displayed. Very cozy environment, very nice staff, welcoming, the fish sandwich very tasty, the fish cakes were good too, the chef's soup was delicious, the decorations and historic location are a plus. Very recommended spot.

We want to pass on our families thanks and gratitude to Alex and his team. We hosted a celebration of life at Maritime Express for 30+ people. The steak dishes were fantastic with all the steaks done to everyone's specs and the salmon dishes were also fantastic. Dessert was outstanding. They looked after all the details, stayed around to make sure the system was running properly. Would not hesitate to recommend them if you have an event you're looking for a place to host it.

We had a great lunch here on Sunday and sampled two of the ciders. Try the Flying Bluenose cider.

I always have a great time here! The food is delicious, I want to try everything on the menu, but I cannot say no to their fried chicken. The staff is always very upbeat and kind. If there was an option I would give them more stars.

Great spot and happy we stopped in for some cider. We bought three 1L bottles and they didn’t last long. Hope to get back soon for refills…

One of our local favorites! Great food and I am a big fan of all of their in house ciders. Visited recently for dinner and while placing our orders we were informed by the waitress that it may be an unusually long wait for our food and if that would be alright. We didn't mind hanging out as we were there to relax and have a few drinks anyway. Our meals arrived in what I felt was a very reasonable amount of time, but because of the "extended" wait time we were offered a complimentary dessert totally un-prompted by us. So naturally we had the mile high chocolate pie and it too was delicious! Hard to beat this kind of service these days, just one of the many reasons they deserve a 5 star rating.

Extremely disappointing brunch, food was very slow and very little taste. I've never been served pulled pork with zero seasoning anywhere else.

Honestly I can’t comment on the food. Twice we made reservations and on both occasions there we not recorded. The most recent actual reservation was made at 11: 28am Wednesday and was not recorded for our Friday arrival. The lady I spoke to when the four of us showed for our 6 pm reservation appeared to be very disorganized & couldn’t find our reservation on a scrap piece of paper. I was informed by the hostess that they are not to take phone in reservations, in any event. I was very surprised with that comment. If you want an honest review I can only say they are extremely disorganized, unfortunately. As far as the food goes I haven’t been able to try it but have honestly tried twice.

Honestly I love this place. Go find out why for yourselves.

Very nice decors when sitting inside. The fried chicken sandwich is amazing. Service is friendly and helpful. Anybody stopping at Kentville should visit and grab a cider.

Beyond exceptional servers. The food is beyond stellar. What Jimmi has done with his apple cider lab is a work of divine art. The Head Chef is not only a gentleman but an artisan of his craft. Easily the best place in the valley.

A tasteful menu with a focus on relevant culinary trends, incredible service, and a great selection of in house craft cider and other ice cold bevy’s.

I ordered the Roundhouse Rhubarb Cider with my Fish Cakes and Frites. I was pleased with the prices, quantity and quality of everything! I ended up buying a bottle if the cider to enjoy at home. I will definitely be going back very soon.

The menu is carefully curated and delicious. You can't beat the chicken sandwich, but all of the food I've had here is comfort food at its finest. The cider is top quality and all of the flavours are nice and subtle, pairing perfectly with the food menu. I've always had great service here, but definitely get a reservation or you'll be waiting.

Service extremely slow fried chicken sandwich tasted like it was cooked in with fish very greasy very disappointed as we heard from friends it was a good spot to eat would not recommend it personally

Even with a reservation we had to wait a few mins for the table to be ready, the waiting area was quite comfortable with beautiful antique couches. Would have been great to have a drink while we waited but not sure if a liquor license would have allowed that, though. The food was good, everyone really enjoyed their meal, the fried chicken breakfast sandwich was HUGE. The American cheese slice was sort of a strange addition. Great options for the breakfast bowl. Next time I would get the chicken and waffles. So many interesting and yummy ciders to try on tap. Great variety and everyone found something they loved.
