Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters

Usually amazing but tonights delivery was terrible. 40 dollars and absolute no flavour. Very disappointing, chicken is going in the garbage. What a waste of 40 dollars.

The chicken tasted like fish bad fish. 3 of us ate there all was bad. This was the store in tantalon.

Won't take orders over the phone any more, and insists I use the app that requires you to pay by credit card. Surprisingly small decision but ill take my business elsewhere.

The food tasted good, but one of the front desk staff's attitude is not good when I ordered and kept poker face all the time. I know that it may be a long day…

I only ate a piece of fried chicken and half a sandwich then I was going to pack the rest home. After I just went to pee and came back, he already threw my stuffs in the trash.

Pretty disappointed with today's visit. I got poutine with chicken pop-ins added, a small coleslaw, and a can of bubly. The seven bits of reheated pop-ins cost an extra $3.80. The poutine was half full. The bubly is the only thing that met my expectations. This cost $12.50 with tax.

I haven’t ate here from since I was 12 because I’m no longer in Canada and honestly their chicken was so good that I’m still thinking about till this day I just had to make a review because I honestly miss this place so much️

So what was it like?

Well, in a word, awesome.

I've always been a fan of KFC, since back when they went by their full name Kentucky Fried Chicken, but in the last few years I really felt that KFC was slipping. KFC chicken doesn't have that same good taste - and worse yet, they split the big keel piece of chicken, which means it dries out.

Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters are awesome, like I said. Old-school fried chicken, with big tasty pieces. The taters were good and my wife really enjoyed the gravy.

And their New Orleans style banana and nilla pudding is a real sweet treat.

The counter girl was very helpful. She reminded me about the gravy, which I never think of. And she made sure that to check the date made on our banana pudding when the first container she took out didn't have a best before date on it.

We'll definitely give them our business again.

I love Mary Browns it tastes great and is much better thank other chicken chains however my experience with this location was awful. The lady who took my order was not listening and we had to correct much of the order. Then after having the order on the screen right we did not receive several items that were present on the receipt. When I called the store to discuss this there was no answer and a full voicemail.

Good staff. Ready serve Even in the last minute. Good customer service. Cheers to the young ladies

I love their food but have found that the orders are often incorrect, usually small things but items that are charged for, (Cole slaw or gravy).

Great service, the Tater Poutine with cheese curds was so delicious. I had to get a large with a can of Pepsi! Thank you!

It's a great place to visit ordering is easy staff is great. I first went to Mary browns in Fairview when it was on the show under cover boss. I worked at their local rival KFC, I'll tell you first hand MB is hands down to KFC. I'm a repeated customer that loves going there. Even when I could get a great discount at KFC I always went to MB. There still in business, so they are doing something right that's for sure. Go check them out I highly recommend you get some chicken there.

I made my order online for curbside pickup using their app. They brought the food to the car and it was very convenient. Staff was friendly. Crispy chicken is really good. Thai chicken pop in is also very delicious. Thanks Mary Brown's, will definitely buy from them frequently.

This place is phenomenal it's clean it's fast and it's the best damn chicken u ever ate in the staff are always happy I love going in there and I will continue to go in there

This eatery has been around for a LONG time, which means they must be doing some things right! I LOVE their chicken: even tastier than KFC and not as greasy. Staff is polite and attentive. Recommended!

Got an under cooked raw chicken wing. Tried to call multiple times only for them to ignore the calls. Very dis satisfied with the customer service and lack of care put into the food.

Had strange smell and taste to breading on the chicken at this location that I've not experienced at other locations of Mary Browns.

Rediscovered this place recently - tried it on a whim and now we love it. Big Mary is better than any burger at KFC. It's less expensive and just delicious.

I’ve been to several Mary Browns location all over NFLD and NS. This one is on another level with the quality of food. I’ve only been there 3 times, but each time was consistent in quality and far better than I remember from other locations. In addition, the store is clean and staff is friendly.

I'd had Mary Brown's only once before in Dartmouth about 5 years ago and it triggered my IBS.
So did this visit. Must be the grease.
Tasty though.

Fast service, friendly staff. Always very clean. I had the chicken and taters. Not overly greasy like the other big fried chicken brand.

I like the chicken, but I never seem to be able to order skip the dishes. Sometimes it's there sometimes it isn't. Like now friday night and it's not there.

I was fairly content with the chicken but I found a hair in one piece. I had to pull it out from the skin batter, which was not a great moment. I get that something like this might happen. I just hope it could be done better. Anyway, it is not a bad place to go for fried chicken.

Love them wish they would bring back the chocolate moose deserts I remeber when I was a kid. The chicken is always the best I've ever eaten and u can never go wrong with a big mary. And dont forget the gravy for the taters yum

Note that I did not go to the restaurant and am only grading it on the food. I decided to walk down to the africville museum and relax by the basin. It was quite hot however, so i needed a drink so i skipped the dishes this place and decided to get some food along with some drinks. I got the 4piece chicken and taters combo. I must say it was delicious, the taters were seasoned perfectly, big and chunky, and had the perfect crisp on the outside and soft fluffy inside. I didnt get a fork in my bag so I used the taters to eat my coslaw and it combined perfectly on a summer day. The chicken was delicious and crispy on the outside and super tender and I have to say the white meat was jaw dropping the only thing is i wasnt too keen on the dark meat pieces, just a tad bit greasy, all and all Id def recommend.

Just not a big fan of the location; not always the most civilized network of socialism around.

I always said to myself "Why is it so much more expensive than KFC? ". Well I went here for the first time last week. I have ordered from here 4 times since then, so there's your your answer to the question.

The chicken here is always good. Can't go wrong if you like chicken! Way better then KFC aka dirty bird in a greasy box.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would.completely messed up my order and then gave me chipotle aioli when i asked for spicy mayo.tried calling 4 times no answer! This newfoundlander wont be having anymore mary browns.
