Michael's always has a 20%-40% coupons online, so you can save whenever you go. The staff are always friendly and helpful when we go. A highly recommended place to get all, if not most, of your crafting needs.

This place operates on a coupon system where the prices are ridiculous because it's assumed you only shop there with coupons because there are always hundreds of coupons available. I understand that it fosters loyalty by making people sign up for their rewards programs out what have you but it mostly just makes me ask myself if Dollarama would have the same thing and I only come here if I need it ASAP or its not easier online.
Still, the quality is usually decent for the framing.
Staff are fantastic though. If you're having issues there remember it's corporate to blame not the employees.

*Edit* Went there in person to the photo center and got incredible service. The phone number still doesn't work but the people in store are great.

Tried Calling your store for 3 days in a row now and Get hung up on every time. Fix your phone and call me back and ill change my review.

It is the go-to craft store (read only local option) right now. Good selection, occasional deals and awesome discount coupons.

Although I was able to find what I was looking for, the service was not good. I was charged three times for one item. I could see that the young lady that waited on me was confused and so I made sure to check my receipt in the car before I left. I was able to get a refund. Make sure you check your receipts before you drive away.

Went in to see what they had for plastic molded models (glue type) ; they carry limited stock but the prices appear to be decent.

Almost always has what I need. Can I get it on Amazon $2 cheaper, usually, but whe you need/want something, waiting isnt an option.

Great selection of crafting ideas, candles, and childrens puzzles.
Great selection of jewelry making items and scrapbooking products.
Different picture frames and friendly staff always willing to help.
Great selection of holiday items.
Micheals is a must visit store.

Great selection. Most staff are nice, however, the store manager is extremely rude/unfriendly, he has tarnished my opinion of this location. I will reluctantly patronize as a last resort and infrequently if I can’t find what I’m looking for elsewhere.

Very expensive. But they have miniatures! But the stuff really costs quite a lot. But they have amazingly cool stuff! But. Money. IS THAT A SMALL WOOD CASTLE?
All in all I love their stuff but I avoid going in to avoid bankruptcy.

Not a big craft guy but always get some from Christmas stuff here. Cookie cutters, candles and wrapping paper. Loads of colouring supplies

Super, patient staff! I was That Person tonight getting a cart full rung up at minutes before close, and the cashier was all smiles and friendliness. I really appreciate that, especially this time of year, when retail can be hellish!

Generally has what you need for any craft project, or designing desires. Staff are always friendly and willing to help.

I don’t know what it is about this place, but to me it’s a store, and then when you go in your get lost in endless possibilities to create, to evolve, to develop yourself and express yourself. I know most people may just see it all as “stuff” but Michael’s really makes me feel excited and happy most of the time. Even if I can’t afford anything that day. If you get on their email list you get fantastic discount coupons on a regular basis!

Always a straight forward visit here. Everything is kept in its original layout so no surprise the next time you visit and don't know where to go. They always have deals and coupons going on as well and very well priced.

If your into any type of crafts or just need something to spruce up a birthday gift then Michaels has it all and they are more than willing to help.

My all time favourite store! Even to just browse. No matter how many hours I spend browsing (literally almost everyday), I continue to find new things to buy, new ideas for crafts and new "past times" to turn into full time hobbies. No matter the craft, Michael's (no matter what area) always has a broad selection of materials and products to experiment with! There were very few floor walkers at this location, visiting from out of town, the floor plan was different than my usual store so items were not displayed in the same fashion. This made for a joyful but yet maybe a tad frustrating job to find "polymer clay", it seemed like a never ending "treasure hunt". These treasure hunts make for more craft ideas and plans for many more future treasure hunts. The only thing I would change would be having more "new products" available more often, also expanding the products available in many of the brands already available (I.e Faber castell polychromos, pentel pen line (i.e sparkle, milky pops pens), Koh-I-nor polycolors full sets, happy planner "project paper", binding machine products, electric erasers, coloring books, ceramics and ceramic molds). It may or may not be disappointing as well that the amount of products added to the everyday value selection prohibits the use of any offered coupons. This forced me to purchase any higher priced items on Amazon, when Michael's moved a lot of their higher priced items to everyday value and stopped allowing coupons on said products, Amazon would have these products listed for approx the price it would have been had they allowed the coupon! Cheaper and free shipping; however I would much rather purchase from Michael's if they would honor coupons on EDV items as well has broaden their inventory under brands currently offered! LOVE LOVE LOVE Michaels!

Better than the Dollarstore but if you want better quality art supplies DeSerres is the better place. #TeebzArt #TheRealTeebs #artistsofnovascotia

A cashier that works here, (at the Dartmouth crossing location) and I really wish I had gotten her name, practically accused me of stealing money. I gave her 100$ bill and was owed back 88$ she counted out twenties but only took out 3 20$ bills, she handed it to me and I fanned it out in front of her and said “there’s only 3 twenties”. She then said “no I counted it out, there’s 80$”. I said “nope, only 60” and showed her again, she huffed and said well did you drop it on the floor and come out from behind the counter to check the floor around me. I said nope, (my hands never leaving the outstretched position they were in when she handed it to me) she then rolled her eyes and reluctantly took another 20$ bill from the cash and handed it to me. I thanked her and left. I was very embarrassed by the situation.

My mother was there the day after me and was purchasing multiple things, and the counter became full, so my mother went to move some bags for her and this same cashier rudely grabbed it from her and said she’s put it on the floor. Customers behind her looked at my mom with a sympathetic look because this woman clearly in no way should be working with the public. She is very very rude.

Pretty standard Michael's. Generally has what I am looking for, although the prices for some items can be steep there is always a coupon floating around for savings, so it's never a bad place to look for supplies.

Doesn't have some of the supplies for the more dedicated artist out there, but certainly a great starting point for those trying to get into the craft.

Will always stop by when I need something. Might be surprised by something you weren't expecting.

I have very "on again, off again" feelings about Michael's. On the one hand, they have lots of stuff, but frequently don't have exactly what I'm looking for; prices are high but there is always a deal/coupon. I like Deserres a little better but just barely.
17 June 2019 8:12
They have a decent selection of crafting and hobby supplies, but the pricing is quite steep. There are rarely any staff on the floor to answer questions or direct you to items.
15 June 2019 23:11
Everything in those store is ridiculously overpriced.
What's worse, many major displays had no pricing at all, either on signs or the individual items. I did find out that they wanted 60 dollars for a cheap plastic outdoor patio mat that's also at Walmart for under 10.
