Worst experience ever, more than an hour wait than expected, extra charge applied for something never mentioned, and blamed me for it, I would never recommended to anyone.

The worst place ever they give you a price for something and when it comes to checkout he ask for higher price I do not recommend it

Midas were life savers. My flex pipe broke on my 2018 ford eco sport and you cannot replace the flex pipe only. Ford made it as a whole piece and you have to replace entire exhaust and catalytic converter which is extremely costly. Thankfully midas was able to cut off the pipe and and make a modification to replace just the pipe. Saving me thousands of dollars. I strongly recommend they saviors.

I’ve been going to MIDAS on Robie for about a year now. They always thoroughly explain everything they need to do. I love their sales team - and they work above and beyond to provide the best deal they can. I know my car is in great hands when I bring it in!

Don’t go here. They won’t change your oil if you have other issues with your vehicle.go else where!

Midas has taken care of my vehicles for years. John and Dave are great and have always treated us fairly. Lucky to have a local business we can trust!

I am a Midas in Toronto fan & was really in awe with Midas on 1654 O'Connor drive & the way they would listen to each customer & then advise on a solution to fix cars. Relocated to Halifax - I visited Midas on Robie Street. I had the most pathetic experience speaking to John (apparently the owner). I tried explaining to him the problem i was facing with my car but he refused to listen to me. John was rude & very argumentative. It seems like his mentality is more on making money rather than making good customers. 1) i tried explaining to him about my loose parking brake that was promised to be fixed but he refused to acknowledge the problem - He told me that the brakes had not been touched & refused to listen. 2) I had a brand new set of headlights that i requested him to kindly fix - John refused to take on that job stating that I had to buy the bulbs from him - only then would he fix it - This definitely seems to be a money making racket. 3) I would have definitely wanted him to check under the car for any engine oil leak BUT because of his argumentative mentality and rude behaviour I would definitely NOT go back to his shop.

I cannot trust him as I am not sure - he could fix something & damage something else. I have lost trust in Midas on Robie Street because of John's rude & pathetic attitude. As long as Dave was employed in his shop - I trusted Midas and knew that he would first listen to the problems the customer was facing & then take care of fixing the car. Sorry John - you are not like that. I am not coming back

The first morning I brought my car in for my appointment they cancelled as they were still working on another vehicle. The second morning they refused to do the MVI and my oil change because my drivers side window needed a repair. I was aware that this needed to be done however they would not provide me with a failed MVI or do the oil change as my current MVI was slightly expired. Both the mechanic and the male receptionist were exceptionally rude and condescending. The first day the receptionist had asked me in a smug tone if I “knew how to check my oil”. I found both men to be chauvinistic and it made me wonder how things would have went if my boyfriend had brought my car in instead. I will never return to this Midas and I am highly disappointed when the lack of professionalism. I understand that my MVI was expired by a week- I was ok with getting a rejection sticker because I needed my oil changed in order to drive the couple hours to my mechanic who would be doing the minor work required to successfully pass a MVI. Being a shift worker and trying to get work done when not having much time off is exceptionally difficult.

John and Dave were amazing, we had to use their service for an emergency and they were able to help us right away. I’ll definitely keep on visiting Midas.

These guys are great. I've been taking my vehicles there for more than 15 years, and I always get the straight-up story (whether I want to hear it or not).

Always Great service! Dave is awesome. Transmission replacement was done, they got the part on a Thursday and it was ready by 4: 30pm on Friday…. And we had a hurricane this week! Lol

I called Midas to see if they were able to replace a noisy wheel bearing on my vehicle. It was pretty critical since my family was travelling from Ontario and had a small window to repair the vehicle before driving home. Midas was able to fit in the repair and was done the job by the next morning.

It wasn't a terribly difficult repair, but the they kept me informed on the progress and the cost. Couldn't have asked for more given the circumstances.

It is a mystery to me that Midas Robie always want to change the break rotors along with the pads. Even if the rotors and calipers are in good shape. The big bucks are always in changing the entire unit rather than the break pads. And these people will hold a grudge on you if you tell them that you changed them recently with a bill. They put a 'rejected' sticker on my windshield for MVI. From my experience, PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

I had a car service here in the month of April. The problem I had was in regards to my brakes as the pedal was making noise when pressed. When I gave the car here for the service, I had told them to diagnose the braking problem as the next day I was relocating to Ontario. When I started from Halifax the next day I had my ABS light flashed and after travelling from NB it became constant. I called the store as they had replaced the rotors, brake pads and left calliper. The guy told right away that as the light is flashing that’s a good sign for the vehicle. Before, I never had this problem. Also, the problem for which I gave them the car, was still the same while driving.

A week before, my left front tyre got punctured. I went to KL tyre and the mechanic right away by seeing the tyre said that this tyre is meant for the small vehicle. In my vehicle service, this Midas store had replaced the front tyres as the guy called me that day and said your tyres threads are vanished and it’s not a good sign for the long trip. So, I told them to change it. Little did I know that they will put the wrong tyres of size 55. My vehicle make is Kia Sorento LX which have 235/65R17 tyre. It’s such a thrash service from them. They had charged me 1542$ in total and presently I am in Ontario.

When I called them for this mistake, the guy instead of accepting it, is saying the tyres we had put on are the right ones and they were the same tyres before. My vehicle before this service had all the same tyres. This store instead of solving the problem will triple it just for money. Its such a poor service from them. I never had such a bad experience before. Beware of this store in Halifax. They don’t deserve this one rating too.

Midas in Halifax have been my go to shop for service of my three vehicles for several years. They are competent and fair in all our dealings and I recommend them.

Absolutely terrible service! My wife went in for an oil change appointment after receiving a coupon. When they found out that we have a regular mechanic that we typically use, an old man came from out back and said “give her her keys back, we’re not changing her oil! ” He was offended that we would get them to change the oil but not do any other work. First of all, the mechanic we use doesn’t do oil changes. Second of all, what business is it of theirs what we do. It’s obvious to me that the coupon was a scam to get you in so they can upsell the hell out of you. That’s why the reviews are 3/5 stars. I have lived in the neighborhood for 40yrs and will tell everyone who will listen to avoid this “business”. Zero stars! My wife feels extremely disrespected

The wrong tires were installed through no fault of the shop (they were sent the wrong tires) but they did a great job following up with me and keeping me informed on when the correct tires would arrive and also made accommodations when making a follow up appointment to get the correct tires installed.

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD! Went in for an oil change, waited 40 mins for them to tell me they couldn't change my oil because I need new rear tires. The guy printed me a receipt before I was even aware of the situation to charge me for my oil change and the new tires- assuming I would be stupid enough to buy them.

Funny enough, my regular mechanic just put those on having only been used gently for a year or two. They're just wasting my time and trying to charge me for tires I don't need. The MIDAS touch must be overpriced tires forced onto you when you ask for a simple oil change.

My wife called to resolve this and they told her that its standard practice during an oil change to look over the vehicle and determine if anything is wrong (a service I did not request or need). He claimed it was a liability issue to complete oil changes on vehicles that need tires- however the mechanic had no liability concerns when he entered my vehicle, drove it into his garage and put it on the hoist to look at it for 40 mins.

Very unsatisfied and wishing I could charge them for my wasted time.

Service is very good, although it can take extra time when the workers are busy in their schedules. Not too pricy and they inform you on the condition your car is in every time and suggests what you should change.
