The Mi'kmaw Native Friendship is an amazing organization! There is so much going on in terms of programs, community suppers, crafts, events to honour their culture and by extension other indigenous cultural groups. They work tirelessly to bring awareness to the difficult histories which are in our lifetime such as Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women, Every Child Matters as it elates to the Residential Schools. The vitality at the Pow Wow in Dartmouth was invigorating and educational.the drumming and the dancing wow. The MNFC tirelessly advocates for justice and support numerous Mi'kmaw cultural initiatives as well as work as front line workers for people in need. So many great people working there.it all comes down to people and taking care of one another.

Wow, what a beautiful and welcoming community with excellent services for indigenous people and learning sessions for everyone!

As non-indigenous people, my staff and I went for an educational session and it was incredible! Thank you to all folks working there, they all went above and beyond for us.

I strongly suggest to everyone to get curious with this great learning center and get involve as well as educated

A grateful student of life

My family are new to the Atlantic and we’ve been learning about the Indigenous people out here. What’s alarming though is the nations here are so close knit they will not allow other indigenous groups within their organization. Feels very discriminatory and prejudice towards other indigenous groups. I wish I could talk to someone who is Anish or Cree. I find them outside everywhere in the community but none go to this place due to lack of resources for other indigenous. I met a woman who was Cree Sioux working new to the city too and she smudged with me telling me stories across Canada and harmony of peoples she said she applied here many times and not heard one word. And another Dene woman hoping to bring her teachings to the community and they always shut her down too for more than few years. Time for change! I hope another indigenous centre opens for the rest of us who is not Mi’kmaw. Respect for all nations!
