The best cottage experience at a very affordable price in NS. I have been a regular for over 5 years now and have 0 plans to change.

Editing to say, thanks for the reply below.

I’m pleasantly surprised that you encourage cabin hopping as that wasn’t the sense at all when we made the request to move.

If the windows were not nailed shut then it wasn’t very apparent to us how they could open. Of course we didn’t expect air conditioning

It is kind of you to offer a refund but we are not looking for a freebie. Just my honest opinion of our experience.

Spectacular nature setting.
But… dark, dingy, hot and beyond rustic cottages and most of the windows were nailed shut and no fans.
Not great customer service. We had a spot NOT on a lake and 1/2hour after we arrived requested to move to one of 2 empty cottages on the lake. The very sweet and helpful receptionist had to confirm with management via phone whether we could move. After management questioned her on the phone about how long we were staying and what time we arrived the answer was no because housekeepers hadn’t cleaned yet. Hmm if that really was the case then why would you question our arrival and departure times if they weren’t clean then that would be straightforward no. It was 5 pm and had not touched anything in the cottage.

Anyway if hanging in nature in a dingy hot cottage is what you are looking for then Milford House is for you!

I am sure the cabins right on the lake make up a bit for the aforementioned discomfort.
I’ll never know.

Charming rustic resort on a series of lakes and nice trails. We stayed at the 5 bedroom, 2 bath Tyler cottage. Great fireplace, verandah and wonderful views. Our stay could not have been more perfect

Spending 5 nights here in July was the first time since the covid lockdown that life felt fully normal.
