Millstone Public House King's Wharf

Great spot to get a drink and a bite, try to catch happy hour for the drinks. Parking is off to the left down by the water, which was tricky finding my first time. Call to get the code for parking before you go, you might need it to get out from the parking lot. There is parking on the street if not too busy.

Had a delicious vindaloo curry here last night. Having arrived from the UK I have struggled somewhat to find Indian food as good as it is back home. But this was fantastic. Good beers on tap, friendly service. Will be back!

Super impressed. Happy hour each day 4pm - 6pm is house lager and house red ale for $5, for a full pint, yay! The menu is excellent and the prices are very reasonable (around $19 for most pub main courses). No gouging here! We had the 2 piece fish and chips to share for $19, great value. My only complaint was the batter was greasy but the fish was excellent. The ambiance is great, the server was attentive, and the views are excellent (see pics). Overall, very good value and a nice place to relax. We will be back for sure.

My beautiful wife picked this location, and we were all glad she did. The food was excellent! I can personally recommend the lobster fettuccine.

Our server was quite attentive and courteous.

The menu really is quite extensive. So, it's probably a good thing to plan on returning.

I went to millstone Restaurant today I ordered 2 orders of chickenwings &calamari they were awesome allways perfect never over done my complements to the staff your awesome

My experience was okay but not great this time around. Cocktails ordered were good. We ordered nachos and it was a small portion for $18. I was even more unimpressed because the few chips on top were whole and had toppings but the rest underneath were broken chip crumbs that we couldn't pick up and we couldn't dip into salsa or sour cream. When she came to take our plate, there was quite a bit left unfinished and she asked if we were done. I commented that it was difficult to eat those chips and it looked like we got the bottom of the bag for chips. She replied that someone has to get the bottom of the bag. I don't think she should've served the nachos like that and it was bad service. We definitely did not enjoy the nachos. Finding a parking spot was a challenge as well. Bruschetta was good.

I really and truly believe this is the greatest restaurant and pub I have ever been to in Canada. Full disclosure: I am from Toronto and my friend works here. It was the most welcoming environment I have ever entered. I had had quite an arduous journey. There is a view that looks like a Van Gogh painting and there is ocean water, boats and ducks. An incredible view of downtown Halifax. I am slowly going through the entire menu and I haven’t found a mediocre dish yet. Nicest and friendliest staff in the world but I suspect that is because they are all from Dartmouth - friendliest and most beautiful city in Canada.

Disappointing first experience. I ordered the chicken sliders and Caesar salad for pickup. I’m only 5 minutes away. My chicken slider was cold and the cheese was hard. The Caesar dressing was terrible. I called and only complained about the dressing and they thanked me for the info but didn’t offer any resolution. Wouldn’t recommend for takeout or delivery.

An enjoyable environment for a group Christmas lunch, with friendly staff and a good menu selection.

I can't believe what we were served. Should have sticked with Baker drive. Nice view of Dartmouth Cove.

Do not recommend for brunch, avoid and go elsewhere, much better can be made at home. Additionally, waited over 45 min between placing order to being served when establishment was less than 1/4 occupied. Very disappointing visit.

Great experience. Went here for a late Saturday lunch. Found a cozy spot inside next to the water in their indoor bar seating. Had few drinks (That ocean cocktail was excellent). The Fish and Chips were nice with very less oil. I tried their Candied Bacon Burger which was a pleasant surprise. We also had the Maple Curry Chicken Penne Pasta which was decent. All in all, a good experience. Will probably come here on a cooler day again to try eating at their patio as the view seemed even better.

Food and drinks were good. Server we had was pleasant. The couple we were with never got their appetizer they ordered and I didn't get any fries with my fish tacos, (pretty sure you were to get that or rice on the menu) didn't clue in about the fries until afterwards. Oh well they aren't good for me anyway. Maybe it was a sign, LOL. The first choice of appetizer they wanted, they were out of, so decided on another, and never got it. Friends weren't charged for the appetizer, so thats good. We sat outside, I was a bit worried because the wind picked up, but their walls really helped block the wind. We were sat in the corner and the speaker was on ground right behind us, so it made it difficult to hear our own conversation. I'll definitely go back to try again, and keep the previous issue in mind, so we can enjoy it a bit more.
Edit - we were there Monday night at 7pm. July 18. It was mildly busy.

Server was excellent and super accommodating and I misplaced my receipt and they sent me a copy days later. Also has an absolutely beautiful view and the food was top tier

We had dinner here a few weeks ago and it was great. The food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient. The view of the harbour was an added benefit.

Great atmosphere with some tasty cocktails and really good food. The portions were much bigger than I was expecting. I like the fact that when ordering from the burger/sandwich section they offered you fries and a salad. It was a small thing but I appreciated having both included.

Dinner was delicious. Wait staff are awesome. Parking is difficult. We parked several blocks away and walked.great view of the inlet/ harbour, depending on what side you are seated.

Nice ambiance, excellent server, prompt service. Even dialed down the PA music in our section when we asked. Good patio, even on cool nights.

Really nice location. The staff were friendly. The food is just OK. The fish and chips were overdone - which is a rarity in Nova Scotia.and they spilled one of the meals onto my wife, putting sauce all over her pants and sandals. And then offered us a free dessert where most places would have comped the meal. I would not go back. Too many other great places to go in the area.

Great watering hole on the waterfront always with a selection from local breweries, cider, etc. Easily accessible from Downtown Dartmouth, or Halifax if you are coming for a walk on the Darkside. Meal portions are huge!

From the start, I knew I chose well. Excellent and attentive service from Morgan went a long way to making our afternoon stop enjoyable.

And then there’s the menu. So many things sound so good - took me a while to decide. But choosing the pulled pork wontons for an appetizer was the right move. Y-U-M. Everything we had was terrific. We’ll worth the ferry ride from Halifax. If I lived nearby, I could easily see myself eating my way through the entire menu!

Hit and miss. Sometimes the service & food are great and sometimes they are terrible! I guess it depends on day & the staff?

Great atmosphere inside and out. Our food was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly. One of our favourite places to go in HRM.

Tons of mice running around in the evening on the outside patio but such is the water front interesting experience exempting the abundance of mice my experience was really really dope food was cooked to perfection and I want waiting a life time worth the visit

Enjoyed a tasty dinner in air conditioned comfort on a very hot and humid day. The sangria was popular with many in our group. I enjoyed the fried chicken sliders.

We arrived on a Saturday around 1: 45, waited at the hostess station for about 3 minutes, no one in sight we moved to the main dining room /bar where a server acknowledged us. We asked if we could sit on the patio, he cheerfully greeted us and said yes it’s open seating.

Once seated, the server was seated (yes seated) across from us heavily engaged in a conversation with her friends, we waited over 15 minutes when finally the friendly server from inside brought us menus and water.

The patio had about 4 tables so it took another 10 minutes for him to come back and take our drink order, and another 10 to take our food order. I asked about the wing and mussel, the server suggested the mussels; stating they were larger than most restaurants and quite popular, so I ordered the curry coconut mussels and my friend the burger.

When the food finally arrived, the mussels were shrivelled, dry, cooked to death and covered in the curry sauce as if to mask this obvious amateur attempt. I’m sorry but for $17 I’d expect them to be plump and juicy, it is the Maritimes!

So I sent them back, a few minutes later the server joyfully returned with a fresh plate, and said these were cooked better. I don’t know by who’s standard? Anyway we d been there almost an hour I was hungry so I ate them. I then asked for a piece of bread to dip in the sauce (the only good part of the dish) and was informed I’d have to purchase it. I almost died laughing.

In short my experience at the Mill Stone Public House was Mediocre at best. The seasonal special lemonade was good. Our server was good, although we weren’t offered any specials and I don’t know if they have any. But sadly I won’t return.

Something about this place. Very great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great prices. Very enjoyable time. Highly recommend!

Good lord the food here is excellent. Best seafood chowder we had anywhere. A bit on the slow side for service but worth it.

Our first visit to this location and food was as good as the other location we frequent often. Lovely on the patio. Great harbour view. Our favourite dish is the Millstone's Signature Haddock with the cajun haddock. Fabulous flavours! Hard to order anything else. Love that you can get half salad and half fries with burgers. And the Candied Burger is my favourite and I eat it without a bun and still love it! So now we know both locations are lovely. Friendly service and great food!

Went there for the patio but it was in the shade and quite cool inspite of the warm temperatures. Ate inside and it was A/C cool and music and conversation noisy. The food was average, the beer cold and the bill expensive.

New clean interior, but great pub atmosphere. Beautiful bar area and nice patio with views of the harbour. Excellent burgers and diverse menu, nice servers.

Wonderful dinner and views. The burger with candied bacon was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Excellent fries too. The halibut was perfectly done and tasty. Kids were happy with the kids menu. We also tried dessert but they were surprisingly not very good. Brownie with ice cream had overly sweet brownies and chocolate sauce. Chocolate mousse cake was frozen and generic. Stick to savory and you'll have outstanding meal.

Design of the place is nice with lots of windows for the view. It was too cold for the patio. Their a/c was on and apparently they can't control it but they did provide us with blankets.

Went on Canada Day and sat on the patio. Blackened chicken club was really tasty. Great selection of local beer. Everyone enjoyed the meals they got. The kids meal was brought out quickly, was a decent size and food quality. Have been to some of their other locations, this was the first time at King's Wharf. Would recommend, the food and service have always been good when 3ver we have gone to a Millstone.

We visited Millstone Kings Wharf soon after opening and we thoroughly enjoyed the warm atmosphere, cool decor, attentive staff and kind owners who took time to welcome our table to their wonderful restaurant on the Dartmouth waterfront. The quality, flavour and presentation of our meals impressed us all and we look forward to returning. The deck overlooking the harbour will be spectacular when open in the summer!

Chicken sliders, fish tacos, made in house veggie burgers, I give them all 5 stars! If there were 5 more stars I’d give the staff 10!

Visited on January 30th, the wait staff was great. Meals were less than stellar. If you like Calamari I would avoid ordering.

Beautiful new Millstone location! Such a great addition to Kings Wharf. Food and service were both spectacular - I suggest the buttermilk chicken sliders - they are definitely a must try! 10/10 will be back ASAP.
