Booked the side room for a birthday party. Excellent room. It is big enough to fit 10 comfortably and still have room to move around. The atmosphere of that room is cozy. My whole family enjoyed the dinner.

Had an incredible dining experience at Montana’s BBQ & Bar in Dartmouth Crossing! The classic burger was delicious, and the bread/nachos starter was a hit with everyone at the table. The dip was exceptionally tasty, and the fries were some of the best I've had. Highly recommend Montana for a satisfying meal – great food that won over the entire group

The food was great, as usual. We had Ky as our server and he was phenomenal! Ky was very friendly and super accommodating for the kids. A+ service

The buttermilk fried chicken meal was delicious - the chicken, mash, veggies & cornbread was all great. The brownie skillet was good. My server was kind too.

If I could give 10/10 I would. We got there and were greeted at the door. We had a large party with us, and they did everything they could to accommodate us. They pushed tables together to ensure we all sat together. All of our food came out at the same time and piping hot and delicious. One of our guests received fries instead of mash potatoes, and they quickly brought him out mash potatoes in under 2 minutes- done with a smile. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive the entire time. Would definitely come back to this location anytime we have the chance!

Very slow, we have ben waiting for our food for more than 1 hours, and also it smelled like burnt food.the food was delicious

I haven't been to Montana since before the pandemic and it was good. I was surprised how reasonably priced the food was compared to most places. Seems like they haven't really raised their prices very much, which was very much appreciated.

Attend Montana’s Dart Crossing couple times a month. Sally and Cassie at the bar always look after our group and always remember our usual orders. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Always look forward to returning.

Had the chicken burger it was dry over cooked, the fries were cold the gravy was cold as well. This is the second time to be disappointed by the food at your restaurant don't think I will go back.

4 workers standing around the door taking names instead of waiting tables. Putting people on a wait list with 6 tables open that I could see from inside the door. 2 roaming workers coming to talk to the 4 standing by the door and cheaking personal phones.

We really like Montana's for the nachos. Service is always great. But I'm dropping the food rating to a 3 because when we go to this location, the nachos are never as good as the Beyers Lake location.
Oddly the other things I've had such as the chicken burger or buttermilk fried chicken were identical.

I was surprised I liked it so much when trying, the southern inspired dishes are super tasty. Worth going off my diet for a night!

The food was 10/10. We did not get cutlery or appetizer plates with our appetizer. We did not get cutlery or wipes with our dinner and my ribs. I spilled my water and my server did not replace it. The washroom bathrooms were overflowing with garbage, the floors and some toilets were dirty. Our food arrived in good time and it was delicious.

Ordered 3 appetizer got 2 and the third was pending for a reason still ok, got the steak super chewy missing salade still half ok
We got the third appetizer at the end was too fed up just paid and left in a hurry.
Really appreciate the fast professional response of Montana to solve the issue.

The experience at Montana's was wonderful not just because of the food but our waitress Victoria G was amazing. She was so nice and good for a laugh! Best service I have had a in long time!

We had a table of 8 for an after work function. We were put in the corner semi-private room, and were treated fantastic. Sally made sure we had everything we needed and were never without. Will be our go to spot when in Dartmouth Crossing.

Service was good, but again our food was cold and things came to the table late. I dont want onions and mushrooms ten minutes after my steak arrives. The manger gave us a discount but they need to improve food Temps and quality. My steak was tepid, the sauce was cold and potatoes luke warm.

Went in for dinner at 5: 30pm. Restaurant was busy, hostess said approximately 25-30 minute wait. She took our cell number and would text when table available. Seems like a good system. But.here it is 8: 30pm. Still no text for table. I wont bother with Montana's anymore, if they don't have a table, I'll just go elsewhere. Plus I'll recommend everyone else do the same.

I go there to pickup skip order today 16-01-2022. There was no sign where we can wait for order. One of the employee came and told me very rudely that you can’t stand here. The way she was looking at me clearly resist. Even small business people better know how to behave with people. Worst experience ever had. She ruin my whole day. I hate this restaurant and never wanna go there again.

Just left this restaurant and had terrible experience. Order our food and only meal was delivered by the manager none the less and was supposed to be gluten free cause one of us are celiac and it wasn't gluten free which could've made this person very sick. The other meal wasn't even brought to the table which was a simple wing and rib combo. It is Montanas and this is what they serve? Then the manager comes back and Apologized but calling my friend darling and dear which she should not addressed her at all like that. Poor service period! Celiac is a serious ailment and serving someone a meal that is not gluten free is completely unacceptable. Then not serving the other meal at all is just completely unprofessional. I do not recommend this location Montana''s Dartmouth Crossing they also said they were under staffed when I seen atleast 4 waitresses, bartender and a manager and only maybe 10 people in the restaurant. Maybe if there was a kitchen issue some of the other staff should have focused on this.

My husband and I love to come here for a casual bite. He is vegetarian and loves the veggie burger here. Staff are super nice.

Tried the new ribwich. Great sandwich. Order does not come with beans or coleslaw though and I couldn't figure out why. So many fries and no tub of beans to accompany them, wake up Montana

The food was good, as it is with most Montana's but was a longer wait for basic foods (burgers, kids pizza, salad). The greeter seemed to be having a bad day and was very short with our party. The waiter was fantastic though! It's an okay spot to go for a basic meal but not really anything special compared to other spots around.

No reservations and only 10 minute wait to seat family of 4. Staff had excellent manners and did an appropriate amount of visits to our table to ensure a positive experience. They met criteria for an appropriate tip. My two young boys gave positive feedback and for that 5 stars.

Ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken for take out. Got home.no country style gravy, no cornbread and no sour cream for the loaded baked potato. Very boring, flavourless and disappointing meal.

Place is great.all you can eat.the use if iPad makes it a more enjoyable exp as you get to see what you order especially for someone who is not familiar with the menu.average price is 35 including tax

Victoria was our waitress and she was very attentive and friendly. The food was hot and cooked to perfection. We always find the Dartmouth location better than Halifax by far. This place was clean and followed Covid rules. We will be back.

Fast service with our drinks and food. Food was great as usual but this time the service was poor. Brought our drinks with no straws, i had to ask for ketchup and i had to ask for salt and pepper. Seemed that we were rushed to leave. As soon as my plate was empty they were there to pick it up. Once the plates were removed she asked if we wanted the bill without asking if we would like dessert. When she brought the bill over she was ready to collect the money. All in all, we felt rushed to get out even when there was plenty of available tables.

Although the food was absolutely delicious as usual.and they seemed to be following covid rules by taking down our phone numbers incase there was a treat to us. I was extremely extremely disappointed and upset that they didn't call any 1 of us when it was posted that there was a confirmed case in the restaurant at the time we were in there. Food was meh, service was good though. On the whole, it was underwhelming and I kind of wish it hadn't been the first place we've visited since the lockdown restrictions eased.

Fairly reasonable prices for actual, real portions. If you buy a meal here, you won't be hungry after. The food is very good, and the staff stand by quality. My steak was a little undercooked but this was overshadowed by how eagar our server was to correct the issue and apologize, even though I hadn't actually complained about it or mentioned it at all, she just noticed the uneaten portion and how red it was for the medium tag sticking out of it.
I was full and didn't want another, so was enthusiastically offered a discount on my next visit. Needless to say we tipped well. *that* is how you do customer service.

Good work on going for the Northwestern states feel. Great burgers. Fries were properly crisp (many restaurants do not understand this). My adult son said he wanted everything on the menu and feels it's one of the best offerings of selections at a restaurant he has ever seen. All 4 of us were very pleased with our meal. Service was excellent, and food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Prices and portions are typical of similar chains (i.e. - Jack Astor's, East Side Mario's). Onion rings were superb. We will be back.

We don't normally do any bad reviews for anything. I do understand that it is Saturday night and probably very busy at this location this evening. We ordered out as we are staying at the residence inn right by Montana's. We were disappointed with the food here. I have never been disappointed before eating at Montana's. We ordered 2 kids meals and neither one was given their drink or their dessert. The steaks were cooked right and that is about it. They were tasteless. My salad portion was the smallest I have ever seen.we were very disappointed with our meal tonight.

I went there to pick up a skipthedishes order. They took about 10 mins to prepare the order and after giving me the order, the woman told me to not sit there next time and stand and wait for the order. First of all, give me the order on time, i am not here to sit. I can’t believe that you won’t let someone sit down who is delivering your restaurant’s food.

Extremely slow kitchen and bar, resturant was not busy when we went. Waited 20 minutes for beer, 30 minutes for an appetizer and ended up having to wait longer because the wrong appetizer was entered in the system. Our mains came 50 minutes after ordering. I got the southern chicken sandwich, it was burnt/over cooked and was only warm. Over priced for the quality of food. The table beside us also waited a long time for drinks and food and ended up sending back a couple of mains because they were cold.

We dined in on January 6. The restaurant was clean and the service was good, with a family friendly atmosphere. Steak was good and daughter happy with her meal, but my burger was one of the driest I have ever eaten. It wasn’t good. First time here and don’t know if I will be back. Have had much better burgers for less money.

Management reached out to me and provided some incentives to get us to return, which we did recently. Happy to report a much better burger experience was had. I would bump you up to 4 stars.

I ate hear about 6 months ago on buisness, only getting around to writing a review now.

At the time I ordered a plate of Nachos, I asked for no Jalapeños or Olives. I can’t recall which or if it was both.

The Nachos came out dressed. Simple mistake, they had the Olives/Jalapeños on them. I just simply picked them off, no harm no foul these things happen.

The waiter noticed, he and the manager went out of their way to apologize to me, they also took a percent off my bill and gave me coupons for my next visit none of which I asked for.

I was super surprised by this, I hadn’t even told them, I wasn’t unhappy either, but the staff here literally went above and beyond for me that night, I’ll eat here again I wish our Montana’s in my hometown had this level of customer service

Pretty disappointing visit. It had been about 7 months since my last visit to this Montana's and it was typically one of my favorite spots, but this visit left a lot to be desired. My ribs were barely warm when they were served to me and they were cooked slightly overdone. As a place that thrives on it's BBQ, it's definitely not living up to the name. You're better off getting the ribs from Mic Mac Tavern. The wings were fine but then again, it's hard to screw up wings.

December 2019 update.
Good news is the brisket is back on the menu. Unfortunately I tried the fish tonight. Portion size was good but the batter was too thick and everything was a greasy mess. And now for my rant why do restaurants discriminate against tea drinkers, if I order coffee and get a second cup you don't run more water through a used filter, or reuse a K-cup. I would really like a fresh tea bag not just more hot water. You can buy a box of 300 bag for under $12, it only cost you around 5¢ for the first cup that I am more than willing to pay $2.99 for.

Renovations look OK, restaurant still looks similar inside, more booths and less tables now. However there are more changes to the menu, and they no longer serve brisket. The ribs had very little meat on them and were tough, and baked potato was not cooked through either. Was never disappointed here before today, hopefully they will turn things around in the future.

2 of our 10 meals were inedible. One was sent back and replaced pretty quick.the other person didn't want anything else. The "sliced to order" brisket was so dry and tough it had to be microwaved from frozen. The 2 stars are for the staff who were friendly and professional. I will never eat here again.

Waitress was lovely, the manager tried their best. The food was only ok. Never had a longer wait time at any restaurant in my life (and they weren't even busy). Won't be back.

My wife and I have been there several times and happy every single time. She usually gets chicken fajitas and I get a steak. Always done perfectly and as an avid cook, wish that I could get mine as good as theirs. Staff always excellent as well.

Never had a bad food experience with any Montana's locations I have visited across Canada before (Montana's is a go to for us) until visiting the one in Dartmouth.

Staff was friendly, and it was clean but the food was less than stellar. Every single item my partner and I ordered was dry and tough - We ordered the Big Smoke which has four different meat items, and the Firecracker burger. Onion strings were soggy and oil soaked. Cornbread was rock hard, and no flavour. It was almost like all the items were blasted in a microwave instead of made to order.

So disappointing.

Great variety. Flexible when ordering food especially good if you have allergies. Nice atmosphere. Nice serviced. GOOD FOOD. Easy access. Have a few private areas.staff seem to work hard.

A friend and I were hoping to eat here after a long day at work. We arrived there around 9: 30pm yesterday which I didn't think was super late as there were still people dining in. We were not greeted or acknowledged at the door nor given any menus and invited to find a seat. We decided to pick a spot ourselves at the bar behind a couple who were eating. We waited for a while and still no one offered us service, so we left. We really were hoping to eat some of our favourites here and we didn't think we were that late that we wouldn't be served. This isn't typical of our experiences here as the food and service is usually great so we were pretty disappointed.

I am always pleasantly surprised when we eat here. Lots of selection on the menu but not overwhelming, great tasting options (their cornbread can sway me on making sure I order something with it included.or to order it as a side) and staff is always friendly and usually down-to-earth and funny. I wish they had Coca-Cola products though - personal preference.

Let me start by saying, my husband and I travel across Canada to different provinces every year (as well as re-locate every couple years) and while we travel Montana's is always our #1 restaurant to dine-in. I have a beef allergy, so I always resort to chicken, pork or fish at other restaurants, but your Montana's Bison Burger has always been a delicious treat and my favorite substitute for a beef burger. I could never get a tastier bison burger anywhere else and believe me I’ve tried. Adding that Apple Butter BBQ sauce was perfection in a burger.
All Montana’s locations from Halifax NS, Fredericton NB, North Bay ON, Winnipeg MB, Edmonton AB, and many others have never let me down for having the best bison burger and that’s a huge achievement. We have been long-standing customers for years not only with being dine-in locals or having out-of-towner traveling stops but also including family and friends’ get-togethers too. We even buy Montana’s BBQ sauce baskets for Christmas gifts.
But I was extremely disappointed to have found out at our last visit in Dartmouth NS that Montana’s has discontinued Bison Burgers from the menus across Canada. WOW…that is a HUGE letdown. I know I’m a creature of habit, so I decided to dive out of my comfort zone and try the vegetarian burger with Apple Butter BBQ sauce and again was extremely disappointed – one of the worst things I’ve ever tasted. The flat patty was dry and tasteless. Customer service has always been excellent at every Montana’s location, but we come for the tasty food. I’m sorry to say I won’t be coming anymore. I hope one day your company will decide to bring Montana’s Bison Burger back – please don’t mess with perfection.

We have tried Montana's many times and went back because we had to gift card again the meal wasn't cooked correctly the steak came out ice cold they had to redo the meal I ate Mine by myself and then had to sit and watch my husband eat his not very good meal preparation

My meal the waffle chicken club with fries was delicious. My husband had wings and ribs. His ribs were great but his wings were bland and luke warm. We didnt receive two things we asked for so we had to ask again. (Straws and sour cream) The food came relatively fast.

Ok so this has always been my first choice on steak. And the first thing i noticed is. They changed their portions. Used to 8 ounce steaks or 12 ounces. Now its 7 and 10. The price has changed to reflect that change.

However they messed up on my steak and my friends steak. And to my shock, the staff were very professional and swapped the steaks out with no additional fees.i was shocked. As alot of places will not do that.

The food as always spite the first error in the steaks were nicely done and good.
