Museum of Natural History

A wonderful Lego Christmas exhibit was on display with moving parts.it train, windmill, and a list of items to search for.

We went with our grandkids to see the Lego display they have on right now and also to visit Gus the tortus.

I just loved it. It also happened to be Guss's birthday celebration the day I went there!

For what it is this is great. Pretty small, but really good for my kids and enough to keep adult interest as well. I rated 5 based on the price as well being quite good for a family.

There is only a small flat and nothing. If there is no charge, I don't even think about it.

Getting the word out on nature and science to many generations of Nova cushions. Gus the famous 101 year old Gopher Tortoise is the center of it all and a must visit.

Not much here for adults to enjoy. I’m not sure it has been updated since the 90s when we came for elementary school tours.

It’s a tiny little exhibit, it shouldn’t be called a museum. If you have younger children and want to kill 30-45 mins then it’s maybe worth the trip. If you are from a city, then this will be a disappointment.

They have a great helpful staff. The kids had lots if fun! They also enjoyed celebrating Gus's Birthday 101

We visited for Gus, the turtles 101st birthday. We took our granddaughter and she had a blast! Lots of interesting things for all ages to keep the mind busy. Easy 24/7 paid parking on site.

Very cool place with lots of good exhibits. Dud with the tattoos was incredibly knowledgeable about everything and handled about 800 rapid fire questions from kids with ease.

The native exposition is great but really small, but the rest is scarce at best. No shade to the curators and the people that work there, just a bit small and short in the expositions.

The museum is smaller than I expected. It has a few exhibits about local wildlife, Indigenous history, a marine protected area called the gully, Sable Island, and basket weaving. I enjoyed the exhibits and especially appreciated their focus on Indigenous history and reconciliation.

Such nice folks working at the Museum and Gus the tortoise is always a charmer! Unfortunately our latest visit was between visiting exhibits and the permanent collection seems sparse compared to even 7 years ago. Still lots of neat animals and displays for the fam!

I remembered this place differently from previous visits. Very well done displays but not a lot of content. Very much oriented to kids which is nice but not a lot to engage adults. I think if I had to chose where to spend a few hours I would choose Pier 21 instead (for adults)

Amazing museum. Very affordable, a lot to see. Plus they have the oldest gopher turtle named Gus, over 100 years old! Amazing place would recommend 100%

Always something interesting to see here! Love seeing Gus the tortoise! Also the gift shop isn't the exit, which is a nice change for a museum.

This museum is a must see when you come to Halifax. Such amazing staff and a huge selection of different artifacts throughout history. I specifically loved the mix with real reptiles, amphibians, and insects. A good place to learn!

It was a bit boring, but that's what it is for children. A bunch of different buttons that make animal sounds and such. There are also some frogs, turtles and one cute little snake

Took a school group and the kids loved their experience. The staff are really engaging. Good variety of exhibits.

Loved this museum. The history is portrayed in a fun and informative way. The globe projector was amazing. The interactive displays so much fun. I would definitely recommend visiting here!
