Nalu Retreat & Nordic Spa

Wow! What a fabulous spot for a retreat. We stayed in Dome #3 for two nights, and it was absolutely delightful. The serenity of the surroundings allowed us to relax and reconnect as a couple. We spent part of the second day hiking the Crowbar Lake trail system which is a five-minute walk down the road. The dome had all the amenities we needed in a compact space. The food we ordered was the perfect amount for the two of us and delicious. The hot tub and outdoor fire on our deck added to the fun. The view was all-encompassing and lovely. Our only regret is that we couldn't see the stars through the sky window because the weather didn't cooperate. I guess we'll just have to come back and give stargazing another try. Oh no, such a hardship ;) We'll definitely be back for a second visit. I can't wait to try out the Nordic spa once it is up and running. I highly recommend Nalu if you are looking for a quiet retreat in gorgeous surroundings.

Nalu truly is the perfect spot to rest and recharge. As soon as you walk in your dome, there is something relaxing/healing for all of your senses; the calming sounds of birds chirping, the gentle aroma from the diffuser, the gorgeous view of the lake/forest, the comforting heat from the propane stove, and the sweet taste of the delicious Rousseau Chocolates. The attention to detail is noticeable throughout the property. Everything was carefully thought and designed. The delicious, pre-made, meal options they offer from local restaurant Lupin Dining add to the experience, making it even more worry-free and relaxing. The location is ideal to soak up nature as they are at a walking distance from a gorgeous hiking trail system. My stay could not have been more rejuvenating. If anything, it wasn’t long enough! Everything was PERFECT. I give this place 11/10. Already looking forward to my next stay. Mahalo Paul and see you in the water!

Nalu is magical! We enjoyed a peaceful and rejeuvenating stay in Dome 2. Everything was so well thought out and on point. Picture perfect views from inside and outside of the dome. Our spa treatments with Kelsie were excellent. It's truly the ultimate getaway and we can't wait to return. Thank you Nalu

We loved our stay at Nalu - one of our favorite stay-cation spots so far. Highly recommend 2 nights and the massage package - Kelsie was great. Being outside by the fire, under the stars in the hot tub was amazing. We left feeling so recharged and rested. Can't wait to see the additions they are making. We will be back for sure.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Brand new, state of the art retreat. We can't wait for the rest of the spa to be finished. We will definitely be back and recommend it to others. Beautifully designed domes with all amenities. Beautiful scenery, breathtaking views.

This is by far the best place to stay in Nova Scotia. The domes are very fancy and comfortable. The most amazing view. The staff will go out of their way to make sure you have the best time.

It's hard to put into words how incredible our stay was. From the scenic drive to the location to the incredible view from our dome, it was perfect. I do wish we had stayed an extra night just to enjoy things a little longer. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, the bed was ultra comfy, the beanbag chair in the loft is incredible for snuggling in to watch the stars. I surprised my partner with the tranquility package and it was worth every moment. Kelsie was fantastic and an absolute professional who echoed the calmness and energy of the dome. We will be back for sure! Amazing!

If you are searching for tranquility, healing, connection with nature and joy, please book a stay in one of Nalu’s three geodesic domes, which are tucked away near beautiful Porters Lake. Everything about this place is well appointed, and the thoughtfulness of the owners (Paul and Heather) is otherworldly. Being in the hot tub while the snow was falling was particularly special. The nearby hiking trails are an added bonus if you’re looking for an adventurous nature walk.

A Truly magical slice of heaven on earth! It’s hard to find the words to describe this beautiful place! So Refreshing, & rejuvenating, peaceful & tranquil nestled in the most stunning location. Everybody’s souls needs this place it was everything & I hoped for & more! The staff, hosts; are so wonderful! The most amazing services, I has a message, cupping, acupuncture, some reiki & it was a truly blissful experience can’t wait to go back!

My partner and I desperately needed a tranquil night away from the hustle and bustle of real life and there is no better place to unwind and decompress than at the Nalu Retreat! The dome is beautifully furnished, the view is breathtaking and the service is outstanding. We cannot wait to come back and are already planning our next escape. Thank you SO much for everything! Paul and Heather are the sweetest hosts! They will answer your calls, emails and make sure you get the best for your booking. This place was SO perfect! It honestly felt like home! We booked two nights in Dome 2 and had a beautiful and peaceful time. I also included a charcuterie board and massage which I would recommend for anyone going! Massage therapist kristi was so nice and friendly. Also, the cheese board was delicious (they made it vegetarian as requested). We enjoyed the Hot Tub outside and it felt pretty private. The whole place was so quiet and serene. We loved it. Even in winter time, it’s SO nice and worth the visit. Also, it’s super close to anyone living in HRM! The place has a cool and clean layout, you can easily cook there or heat up food. I recommend getting quick and easy meals to make things more relaxing. There’s also a few games and puzzles (we spent 12 hours doing one puzzle there) haha it was intense but very enjoyable to just have that quality time with your friend, relative or partner. Thank you for this lovely retreat. We hope to be back again!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic, every detail of the space was carefully curated to create a tranquil, rejuvenating space. The outdoor spaces were private, quiet and each view was framed perfectly. Our one night retreat up the road felt like an international getaway into an isolated paradise. I strongly recommend! I would also suggest adding massage and charcuterie board to your stay, it made it a complete package!

I was very impressed with the level of detail that went into this place. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the experience they would want and have transferred that over to their guests. Given the little details, cleanliness, and great view, it is well worth the money.

Wife and I stayed an evening, we immediately grabbed our robes and started preparing dinner on the bbq.

After dinner we got the couples massage, Kristie was fantastic and personable.

We then jumped in the hot tub and enjoyed the outdoor shower.

The attention to detail and thoughtfulness put into the property blew me away.

Paul the owner really went above and beyond to create an experience like no other.

After a hot tub soak we meditated under the stars then fell asleep by the fire place.

Next morning we woke up to the morning sun, made a coffee and enjoyed it in the brisk fall air while keeping warm in the hot tub.

We left feeling rejuvenated, relaxed and at peace.

If you want to get away and relax this is the ultimate spot!

Staying at Nalu Retreat was truly a magical glamping experience. It was the first time I'd ever stayed in a Dome, let alone a luxury one, so I didn't know what to expect. It was fully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchenette and its own beautiful bathroom. The outdoors had a BBQ, my own hot tub and propane fireplace with views of the lake.
The bedroom at Dome #2 had an amazing view of Porters Lake when I woke up in the morning.not to mention I hadn't had a peaceful sleep like that in a long time. Being that far from the city lights (and noise) I could stargaze from the upstairs loft and do my yoga practise in the morning.
My luxury, mini-getaway would not be complete without splurging on a 1- hour massage, and it just made the whole experience what I needed to feel re-energized and at peace.
I wish I could've stayed longer, but I will be back (the nordic spa will be coming soon!).
I highly recommend staying at Nalu Retreat if you're looking for a peaceful, tranquil stay surrounded by nature.

A must stay for anyone looking for a weekend getaway, to relax, refresh or experience a different mindset. Much more that a retreat, it will introduce you to a new lifestyle.

Nalu Retreat was an exceptional experience. Stayed in dome 1. It is far and beyond just an accommodation. It is luxury and tranquility. It is peace and relaxation. Everything you could possibly need is provided. So much attention to detail. Spa sounds and smells. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. A large private deck with hot tub, propane fire pit and bbq. And the views! Spectacular!
Imagine that you have just had the most amazing spa massage and when your hour was up, you could just lay there as long as you liked. That is Nalu Retreat.

It was the most magical stay at the Nalu Retreat. We stayed in dome #1. The scenery was absolutely amazing. Every morning we had humming birds and butterflies came to the window and every night we saw the stars light up the sky. I felt like I was in Disney movie! The eagle soared past while we enjoyed the spectacular view, the hot tub and the outdoor shower. We drank and bathed fresh spring water (highly recommended).

Wait, there is more! The real magic was that my husband and I got to experience healing power of Nalu together. It something I cannot explain in words. All I can say is that you have to experience it for yourself!

There were so many extra things that we did which made this trip so memorable. The massage therapist came into our dome to give us massages, then we had the owner come in and do a sound bowl healing one day. We did yoga on the patio and a healing session outside in nature. One evening we had the firepit going while we watched the stars and sipped on our tea.

We shopped at the local grocery store to get a few things because they have a full kitchen and had meals brought in from a local restaurant. We walked by lakeshore and took a short trip to see the Atlantic Ocean.

This trip was amazing and my hope is to do it again very soon. Hats off to the amazing owners and there attention to detail.they truly have thought of everything.

My husband and I got to experience this little piece of wilderness heaven while taking in the views from Dome #2. Nalu Retreat has thought of everything to provide their guests with a true luxury getaway. A post won’t do it justice - it’s one of those things you need to go and experience yourself. We can’t wait to go back and stay longer and enjoy the additional spa services when they are available. Special shout out to our incredible hosts - you should be very proud of what you’ve created!
