North Sydney / Cabot Trail KOA

The campground owners were incredible to help when my wife had a medical emergency. They helped us far above to help us. We will never forget them.

We spent two nights at a site on the upper tier. It provided us a great view and amazing sunrises. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, we were shown available sites and got to pick the one we preferred.

The washrooms closest to the office were very clean, including the showers. There is laundry facilities but we did not use them. However, we did check them out and they looked good.

There is also a building with fitness equipment. Similar to the laundry, check it out, did not use, looked good.

We were traveling with our small dog. The campground is very dog friendly. There is even a small off leash area.

Enjoyed our time here and are planned to spend a few more nights on the back end of our vacation.

Sorry but I don't agree with many of the other postings. The camp spots are uneven to a degree, grass was long with weeds growing. The picnic tables need a sprucing up and the washrooms, however clean, need all the cob & spider webs removed. Cleaners should look up when cleaning the washrooms. Though staff were friendly and the view was great, I felt this place was worn and needed lots of TLC.

A great journey stop if you plan to park, sleep and sightsee during the day. Picturesque sites facing beautiful Bras D'Ors. Washroom and shower facilities are VERY clean and updated. Friendly and kind service. Conveniently located to many popular tourist destinations among Cape Breton. We had a great time and would definitely book again.

Wonderful campsite to stay with family. They got cabin with nice views, clean washrooms, laundry and there's also playground for kids. Friendly staffs and Bonnie is just amazing she made us feel like home. We will definitely return for our next vacation. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to have nice and peaceful time.

Very good in many respects but NOISEY. After the quarry right next door has stopped, the camp operators are trundling a big loader through the lanes spreading gravel, and a generator is grinding away for firewood cutting. This is all happening at dinner time and still going at 6: 30 until I (and others) asked them to stop. Evidently so many jobs have to be done that they find it impossible to schedule the noisy jobs between checkout and checkin.

This was our 6th campground on our road trip to Newfoundland. We arrived on opening day so everything was still getting set up. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating of our requests. The view from the campsites is unbeatable!

We were denied entry to Canada from US, and I canceled reservation. We were still charged one night stay.

I love this campground! The owners always offer a friendly greeting and are really helpful. The sites are spacious and are well maintained. The wi-fi works as advertised. One arrives, and leaves with a good feeling.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. There's clean bathrooms and showers, canoe rentals, a playground and mini put on site. The views are outstanding. The staff was incredibly kind.

The grounds here are all well maintained. We stayed in our trailer with direct views of Bras d'or Lake.it was lovely The laundry room is partially situated outside so we had to sweep webs away ourselves prior to using it. Multiple machines were broke down, so it was a 2 hour process. We had family staying in the deluxe cabin which was quite spacious.but needs to have some attention paid to it. The black mold in the patio door tracks was not nice and the shower head is pointed straight at the door and cannot be moved. It definitely needs to be cleaned. We ha

We randomly stopped here on our journey. The staff here is the reason to go. Very helpful, took care of us as last minute drop ins and gave us a great spot. Thanks!

Excellent location to see the cabot trail, Sidney, Glace Bay and the fortress of louisbourg national historic site. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Pull through sites a very level with lots of room to park your pull vehicle or toad. The view is amazing.

We stayed here on a bike packing trip around the Cabot Trail. Nice and quiet place to set up camp with beautiful views of the water. The facilities are clean with nice hot showers. At $30 a night, it’s not a bad deal at all!

What an amazing stay. The cabin and the views were absolutely outstanding. Bonnie was exceptional and went out of her way for us. The washrooms and showers were very private and left us with a great feel. I strongly recommend staying here if you are doing the Cabot trail. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Very well maintained and serviced campsite. The staff is amazing. They also have a small store for last minute camping shopping. The views are excellent.

Friendly staff, decent view of the water, competitive pricing for sites. One issue with tent sites, sewage smell from tree line and campers.

We rented a tent spot with no elec and water and it was right on the edge of the water. Great view.

Spectacular view of the Bay bridge and Seal Island. Staff are friendly and helpful.
At my campsite, wifi was weak, slow, and non-existent as others moved in. Android data on my phone was far faster. The sewer hookup was so far away that, if I hadn't recently bought an extension hose, I would be unable to connect.

Well laid out and friendly, beautiful views of the Seal Island bridge, water and cliffs. The lots are a good size and bathrooms were spacious and clean. Has beach access, dock, pet park and playground. Located conveniently between the Cabot trail and Sydney. Only drawbacks were some traffic noise, and a long wait to recieve a fire pit.

Fabulous location. Unique setting with great views across the river. Well managed and clean facilities. Easy access to the Cabot Trail and North Sydney ferry. Bonnie and Jason are perfect hosts. Absolutely loved both of our stays here this year. Will definitely stay again when we return to Cape Breton Island.

Perfect KOA. Very close to Newfoundland cruise port for the ferry over. Lovely owner & wife. Told us about the Gelic College

This was the best KOA we stayed at on our summer vacation. Canoeing in the bay and eating Oysters from the sea were our highlights. The staff were very friendly and our stay was truly a pleasure.
