I've moved around a lot and gone to a lot of hair places, and One Block is genuinely the best of the best. They're incredibly respectful and kind and Keltie always takes the time to make sure I'm really happy with my haircut. They're so so good at dealing with my very thick and fine hair.

I can't believe I haven't written a review about OBB yet. Just occured to me as I'm planning on booking again soon! All of the staff are so lovely and incredibly skilled. Shoutout to Stevie, who knows exactly what to do no matter what request I bring them - they have a magic touch when it comes to low-maintenance cuts. My hair basically styles itself, it's so nice to take care of.

I had my first cut at OBB today with Keltie and I am so happy I found them. I got exactly the cut I wanted, despite the photo I brought not being quite right. Keltie is very personable and kind, I would highly recommend this barber. I enjoyed the queer environment, thanks for being there!

I got my hair cut by Emily and she did a 12/10 job. I only said a few words and showed 2 pictures and she completely understood what I wanted and the best way to go about it. She consulted with me as to what was financially reasonable for me to do for maintenance and cut my hair accordingly. I have never had a hair dresser ask that question before and it was so thoughtful. I’ve gotten a million compliments on the cut since.

I absolutely love OBB and every human being here, the vibe is so welcoming, very queer friendly space, I feel at home & safe here, best way to start &/or end my day. If I could, I would give it a review! All the stylists are lovely, kind, and bring out all the good vibes with laughter and love! I love how the team works so well together too!

Atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Have been going to Robyn for years for foils and every time I leave thrilled with the results. Very creative and collaborative with color when I want to try something new.

DO NOT GO TO KELTIE. I have had my haircut here twice and it turned out great. Keltie just destroyed my hair. Cut it way too short it’s choppy, uneven. They did not disclose that she is an apprentice or unlicensed. No one that is licensed came to check if she was doing my hair properly. I now have the worst haircut I have ever had in my life.

I will be looking into this further about them not disclosing that keltie is an apprentice and UNLICENSED.

Reply: how is it under the supervision of Robyn if Robyn was curling her hair? Shouldn't she have been checking in to see how things were going? I didn't cause a scene I walked out crying/having a panic attack because I was very upset.

Keltie was also visibly shaking and going red/sweating before my hair was even done which shows they knew they had messed up.

You also weren't interested in hearing my side and told me I could use the money I saved to go get it fixed somewhere else, which suggested it is messed up if it needs to be fixed.

I wasn't able to get into my usual stylist (at another salon) so booked in with Keltie M. Keltie took the time to understand what I needed from a cut - I have hormonal thinning and am self conscious of it. Despite being "an apprentice" Keltie has experience as a barber. I was so happy with my cut and the entire salon experience. Also loved the pic they took afterwards with the pink background!

It’s an amazing place. I always leave feeling special as the service and people exceed expectations. I have high expectations and get lots of compliments. Thank you to OBB

Always have the best service here! Talented and professional group of folks who are always so lovely. Seen a few different stylists here and never had a bad experience. Also love to have a queer-owned and operated space to go to!

I was in the salon when a client left very upset. Seems like the the hairstylists were in above their heads and really messed up this poor girls hair. They behaved super unprofessional and I couldn’t imagine ever recommending this place to anyone. Customer service is number one!

Such a great place! Every single staff member is always so wonderful and welcoming. 100/10 recommend!

Friendly atmosphere, I did have one good experience and let down my guard to do a bigger change, but then had my hair ruined the 2nd visit. I used pictures and tried to communicate clearly with the stylist, but ended up with my hair cut way shorter than intended, and asymmetrical when that was not discussed, it's impossible to style now. Also found patches of orange that seem to have been missed by the toner. It's not a cheap place and I'm willing to pay for quality, but this was not worth it, and am now going to have to go elsewhere to get it fixed. Avoid.

I had a wonderful experience. I have crazy curly hair and would highly recommend Stevie. My hair looked so great and it was so manageable for me that I went back again and got it cut even shorter! Not something you hear a Curly say often. Will def be going back.

I always have an amazing experience at OBB. As a queer person, I don't always have a great experience with folks cutting my hair given the very gendered hair cutting environment, but at OBB I feel immediately at home and taken care of. I have worked with Stevie a couple times and they have given me some fabulous cuts! OBB is my hairdresser of choice moving forward and I would highly recommend.

I saw Stevie, and they gave me a wonderful perm! The whole staff is kind and caring. Definitely a safe space! Going back for a hair cut next week

I had heard a lot of good things about this place so I was really disappointed when I left with a choppy, uneven cut (my hair is short so the uneven bangs and choppiness is very noticeable). It's been a couple weeks and it hasn't grown out nicely either. Everyone was nice, but I don't think I'll be going back.

I had a great experience! The shop has really relaxing vibes (v queer friendly!) and Stevie was great with my wavy/curly hair.will definitely be back!

Stevie is so sweet & kind, and does amazing work. Their passion is evident. My hair has never looked so great!

Just had a great experience at One Block Barbershop. Not only did Stevie make sure I was super comfortable, but I also ended up with a great cut even though I am not the best at communicating what I like. It's like Stevie read my mind! Super lovely folks:)

Emily did an amazing job and gave me my dream mullet! Really took the time to understand my hair and didn’t water down the style I wanted as some non-alternative catering stylists might do. All the staff seemed friendly and experienced and I can’t recommend this place enough!

Had my first haircut here today and it was SUCH A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I booked my cut with Stevie who worked their magic on my wild curly hair and made it look and feel absolutely AMAZING.

Genuinely one of the best haircuts I've ever had-Stevie was so kind, respectful, and professional, and made sure that I always felt comfortable and heard throughout the entire appointment. They really know curly hair-and they totally CRUSHED IT.

As for the shop-they are super clean and have lots of great COVID measures in place making sure everyone feels safe and calm!

I can't rave enough about what a wonderful experience I had-definitely go see for yourself!

I worked here for over 4 years and I loved every minute of it. I learned so much from working at this place. Everyone who works at One Block are very friendly and talented people. The staff here is very knowledgeable about hair and will provide a great service in a casual yet professional atmosphere.
As a previous employee I highly recommend this place to get your hair done and also to work with a fantastic.

I really wanted to like this place, after seeing so many great haircuts and reviews on line. Though it seems that if you didn't get the stylist (Laura I think) who isn't there anymore, you aren't guaranteed a good cut.

Went there and discussed options with my stylist, I was pretty open to different ideas, choosing to shave my nape and trim a bit of the length off the top. The shaved nape however didn't have any taper or fade done to it, it looked like that was the first time they've ever shaved anything. After having done head shaving myself at home, as well as going to different barbers around town, this result was really disappointing.

The service was friendly and there wasn't any wait when I got there for my appointment. The hair washing was good and head massage was a nice touch though.

I just ended up going to a barber to get it fixed first appointment available a week later. Wasn't worth paying $60 for.

I left with precisely the colour blonde and style I wanted. I felt like a new person. Julia is an excellent stylist.

Kat is an absolute pro at short hair. She cuts my hair exactly the way I want it every time. I’m so glad I found OBB. Excellent shop and service.

Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful people, and beautiful hair. Really can't go wrong with any stylist at OBB.

Laura L is the best hairstylist i have been to. Always love my haircuts and enjoy the atmosphere of OBB. She is totaly a wizard!
