Ottawa House By-the-Sea Museum

Scenic view. Must-visit place. Ottawa House is a unique museum. The staff is super friendly, Once I'm gonna go back.

Visited from Halifax, we visited on Sep 23 2023, there was a Model train setup down stairs and upstairs had a plethora of history, boats, tools, all very nice.

Anyone interested in marine history will like this place.

There is also a public beach out front, which is nice for walking by.

Needs help from the local government to help support a great piece of history that people come to this area to see.

Disappointed on how this was laid out for such an important historical building. Upstairs were rooms filled with "stuff". Felt more like an antique place than a museum. Would've prefer less stuff and more history on each room with appropriate furnishings. The "stuff" would be great in an out building with explanations of what the items are, Era, how they were used etc. Glad I went but disappointed. Downstairs tea room, lovely staff, and a "historical " room about the house and area. Very informative.

Enjoyed our visit to Ottawa House.very interesting.there is the option of a guided tour but we opted to wander around and take in the scenery ourselves.great beach to walk along as well. Cute little cafe inside. Beautiful views.

We weren't able to visit as we arrived just when they were closing but the ladies we spoke to were very friendly.

Such a great historical place! Felt like we stepped back in time. Great for photo taking.beach is huge and so much to explore. Museum is great as well! So many wonderful scenic shots!

Great history in this building.if you're in the area stop by and support the preservation of this great building.the views from this location are worth the trip alone!

Been here many times.well worth the trip. A couple of things.
1. Approaching from Parrsboro it's a blind left turn down the approach road.be careful.
2. If you drive down to the to Patridge Island STAY ON THE ROAD.if you drive on the shale you will get stuck. Ask me how I know.
3. Go during low tide and walk out to the wier.interesting.

Wow, it’s so old-fashioned

If you like an antique feel, I definitely recommend visiting.
