Had a piece of coconut cream pie and made us sick late on. Fish tips and fries were delicious.

BEST place in Dartmouth. You don't have to be fancy to be fine - this is the best home style food. We feel like family here. Service is amazing, actual servers who love what they do. Fish + chips to die for, great smoked meat sandwich! Hurry + get to this place, We go every week!

This place is very dated looking inside and not in a good way.we haf fish and chips but couldnt determine the type of fish.wife wanted clams and chips but they were out.

AMAZING is all I can say! The food is the best ever and the service is quick and very friendly. You would certainly never leave here hungry!

Great place for fish. Had the pan fried haddock fillet with side Greek salad, panko onion rings were so light. It was devine! Try the home made coconut pie and the rice pudding! Yum! Best family dinner around.

This is my favourite restaurant to get my seafood platter fix on. Make sure to get the clams if they’re in season. Old school diner with simple homemade food. We got a seafood platter with an extra fish to share and a hearty seafood chowder. Although we had to wait around 15 minutes for a table on a lunchtime weekend, it was worth it for the delicious seafood. The coating on the deep fried seafood has a little bit of sweetness which differentiates it from other places. Would highly recommend a visit.

The place was busy. The food was overcooked. May have been a bad day. I have been there before, and the food was good.

We move to NS 15 months ago! This place is by far my fav for seafood, especially fish and chips. Great value for the money and the servings are always very generous!

Heard many good things about this diner. 1st visit was OK. Not mind blowing as others have may have suggested. Portions good, service good and the prices were ok,
I had the burger and I found it satisfying. May need a few more visits to explore their menu before I can really nail down whether I would agree with my friend's high praise. But overall, based on my only visit, it was pretty good.

We love this place! It’s the best diner in Dartmouth or even in HRM! We love the food, attitude and atmosphere. Fish and chips and seafood platter are our family’s favourite dishes. Highly-highly recommended!

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I am very impressed with the quality of the food and the staff. Our server was polite and we had our food in 7 minutes! Excellent meal and you won’t go away hungry!

I'm kind of back and forth on this one. Their burgers used to be really good but now they are smaller and I was given lukewarm fries. Won't be buying this anymore. I was there recently and I thought their Haddock Tips were really good to me. My wife said no John's Lunch makes better tasting ones to her. I can't tell the difference they both taste really good to me.:)

Great tasting breaded and grilled fish. We were looking for some seafood options in the area that did not involve deep fried seafood and the grilled haddock served here was a large portion than we've been served elsewhere

Their service on top of personal and amazing is so quick my head spun. The order was given and back cooked to perfection in a matter of minutes. Even crowded, you can enjoy a good old East Coast vibe with great deco and fun staff

Pleasant Street Diner & prior to that I have eaten there delicious food for several years. I grew up with John's Lunch of which they were involved in & I believe owned.
I have NEVER been disappointed with quality and quantity. Sometimes to much for me to eat. You can't say that about many restaurants. Quality and great atmosphere and service.
