Redwood Grill

I dine here often due to staying in the connected hotel often for work. Haven’t been disappointed, yet. Been coming here for over a year.

Nous sommes venus moi et ma femme en septembre en tant que touriste à ce restaurant nous avions étés reçus par Sara qui était très aimable et à l'écoute. Le service était un peu long mais elle n'a pas hésité à nous offrir les boissons en guise de dédommagement. Les plats étaient très bon rien à dire. Au plaisir de revenir.

I work for Skip The Dishes and visited your restaurant today between 1: 30 and 1: 40 for a pickup order. Unfortunately, I had a less than pleasant experience. The staff member, an older lady with glasses, was consistently rude from the moment I arrived. She left the order on the floor for me, which was unprofessional. Her behavior seemed unwelcoming towards me, and it came across as rude and possibly discriminatory. I'm quite upset about this encounter, and it makes me reconsider engaging with your restaurant in the future. If you value delivery drivers as cheap, I'd advise not to sign up with Skip The Dishes if this behavior persists. I believe she wouldn't have left the food on the floor if I were a customer. I hope you can address this issue, and there should be video footage from your cameras between 1: 30 and 1: 40 PM as evidence. Treating anyone this way is not acceptable.

Exactly what you expect from a place like this. Same old hashbrowns, coffee and dry sausages. For a breakfast out it was adequate. The server was great.

There is nothing remarkable but also nothing seriously wrong with the Redwood Grill. The service is adequate, the interior unremarkable. Similarly, the meals are "adequate".

Good food, but menu is limited. No vegetarian or non-dairy options, especially breakfast.
Earlier breakfast also appreciated as we had distances to travel each day.

The food was really yummy. We had seafood fettuccine with mussels, I wish I had asked for extra bread to dip because the butter sauce the muscles came in was soooooo good lol also its accessible!

Great friendly and professional service. Wife is GF and staff were extremely well educated on the topic. Great food at reasonable prices. I had the Cheese omelet.

A decent place to grab dinner or a few pints at the end of the day. Friendly staff make this place pleasant.

We usually really like the Redwood but this was a very poor visit. The server did not seem well trained and the tableside manner was lacking in caring, knowledge of what should be expected as routine and dirty dishes were left on the table and the bills presented. One of our party ordered seafood chowder and since this is a Nova Scotia classic it should have been good. It arrived still cold from the fridge and we had to stand up and start to take it from the table before the server noticed. The server had not come back to check soon enough. The restaurant was not busy and the staff was not overworked at the later lunch time. To be fair other food choices were good. The side green salad looked great but upon tasting it, the amount of raw minced garlic overwhelmed the taste of the fresh veggies. Really wonder about the staff training. Our experiences in the past have always been very good!

This was a hit and miss. My oldest daughter's curried chicken penne was excellent. My youngest had chicken fingers and fries from the kids menu, and the chicken fingers were excellent.

I had the fish and chips. It was so over-fried that I could barely eat any of the fish. I picked at it to get something.

My uncle had blueberry pie. It came out with melted whipped cream AND melted ice cream. The story was that the ice cream brand just wouldn't freeze. Seemed sketchy to us. He rated the pie 4/10.

So, it was food. But I wouldn't go back.

This used to be excellent but now the food is just mediocre. Food is lukewarm. My burger was pink in the middle so next time ordered it well done to be on the safe side and it was burnt to a crisp. Hollandaise on the Eggs Benny was curdled. I assume they have a different chef at the helm now. The wait staff however is pleasant and efficient. So disappointing as it used to be one of my favourite spots.

I've been to the Redwood Grill several times over the last few years and barring a rough patch during the pandemic, each visit was great.

The food is delicious, especially the jalapeno dip. It has always been fresh, hot and cooked to order. I've never had to wait too long or have my food arrive suspiciously early either.

The wait staff is friendly and attentive - you won't have to wait a long time for service. The restaurant itself is clean and casual, yet not too bright or dark. Prices are reasonable for Halifax - about $15-$25 for a meal. If you're looking for a drink deal, I believe happy hour is between 4: 30-6: 30.

Overall a nice restaurant if you're looking for something other than fast food or the usual chains.

The waitress was brutal. She didn't offer any beverages. Her only concern was payment and she did nothing but make us feel like an inconvenience to her. I would not go back.

My husband and I have visited the Redwood for brunch for about 4-5 years, and it is always delicious! Their menu is simple, but with great options. I highly recommend their Eggs Benny or their Chicken & Waffles. They have excellent staff service, a comfortable atmosphere, reasonable prices, and in my experience they are typically far less busy than other "chain" restaurant brunch locations in the area. We've never been disappointed!
