Restaurant Evangeline

We spent a few nights in this charming coastal town. We had a lovely old fashioned breakfast here, but there is zero Ambiance or Decor, and while the food was enjoyable, the coffee tasted like it came out of a vending type machine. My espresso tasted of chicory and chocolate and was undrinkable for me! My husbands cafe-au-lait tasted exactly the same. I need my coffee to taste like it was made from coffee beans!

The meat pie was delicious, but the portion was surprisingly small. Good gravy! I don't know why, I can't recall if the menu says this, or my expectations were just set somehow. Like some outside force whispering into my brain, the cranberry sauce will be homemade, the cranberry sauce will be homemade. It wasn't.

We had breakfast here as a server at another restaurant told us it was the best breakfast in town. We were not disappointed, food was delicious, and the menu even had balogna as a protein option, which can be so hard to find.
The server was fantastic, friendly, and went above and beyond. I didn't catch her name, but she was fantastic.

It's just a regular Canadian restaurant, but the taste and quality of the food aren't great so it seems like it needs to be a fast food chain. I haven't finished the service or the food yet, but I feel like I need to put the dishes away and leave the restaurant quickly!

Ordered the roast turkey dinner for 21$ to take out. Food was cold, had canned peas for the veggies the side salad literally consists of one slice of tomato, one slice of cucumber, and a lettuce leaf broken up. No dressing. Bun was chewy. Simply an atrocicus meal not worth more than 8$. More like a hospital cafeteria meal. I will post pictures

Great dining. We had pizza, sandwiches and latte. Everything was so good and delicious. Definitely coming back here.

The gentleman at the petro gas station recommended this restaurant. The food is excellent with large portions, prices were not expensive and the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We have eaten 3 meals here starting with lunch, next day supper and today breakfast. All delicious

Food and service are awesome! Best part was the house maple syrup (not the packaged one), taste like melted maple Werther‘s. Highly recommend this place!

We decided to have breakfast at this restaurant against the advice of the motel we stayed at. We’re glad we did. The breakfast was exactly what we wanted and very good. Continuous coffee, I had a veggie omelette with bacon and toast. My husband had 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, sausage and toast. Delicious! Basic diner, just breakfast but good service, reasonably priced and perfect to start our day.

Our server was welcoming and efficient. The food (breakfast sandwiches) was mediocre. Maybe using real cheese instead of processed cheese would improve them.

This is not 4 1/2**. The place is dark, rugs held together with duck tape, some tables are fold up resin tables. You can see dirty dishes being processed through the dishwasher. Food was ok. I wanted the turkey or beef dinner for$21, but was told it was cooked ahead and frozen and then heated up. For $21 it should be fresh daily or just not on the menu.

Seems hit or miss. Had the club sandwich for lunch which was delicious, came back for supper to try the “authentic chicken fricot” which was literally just potatoes and chicken in a suspicious dark broth.

Nice little breakfast place on the Cabot trail. Totally work the stop. Great service and value in the food. Honestly the perfect stop for breakfast.

This place is great. I went here with. Y husband and son for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
They have a good variety to choose from. The food came quickly. We all left with full stomachs.

It was okay. Nothing special. Garlic fingers weren't really garlicky and donair pizza was alright.

Excellent place for breakfast. Wife and I had the senior's eggs and with tax, $30. Cindy the waitress was great, funny and very informative. Highly recommended.

Amazing fish cakes and galette blanche just like Meme makes them! Great experience and nice place to stop on the way to the Cabot Trail. Staff were very friendly as well, would recommend!
