Resto Urban Dining

Resto is one of my favorite places to dine. I'm gluten sensitive and they have the best gluten free pasta and bread around. Service is usually impeccable, and it has a nice, cozy atmosphere. Try it, you won't regret it!

Dining at Resto in Bedford, NS is an amazing experience! Of all the restaurants in the Halifax Regional Municipality, it is the only one we’ve found that offers the best food east of Montreal; fabulous servers (looking at you, Xander, server extraordinaire!), and a lovely, quiet, intimate dining atmosphere. Unlike many noisy restaurants, when you are dining with friends at Resto, you can actually have a conversation without having to yell across the table to be heard.

Resto’s blackened scallops, maple pasta, molten cake, and Lemon Drop Martinis are my faves and are fabulous. In fact, every appetizer, main course, and dessert is superb.

I can’t recommend Resto highly enough! Do yourself a favour and dine there. You can thank me later ;)

Resto Urban Dining has always been a 5-Star in my books. It has never disappointed me! The entrees have always been served hot and beautifully/tastefully presented. The venue is very welcoming with a warm ambience which, at this time of year, is further enhanced by the lovely fireplaces. And last, but by far not least, the staff at Resto are - simply put - pleasant, welcoming and more than eager to please. While I never like to single out one, in particular, I will do so as I am very familiar with Xander who has been a server at Resto for many years. When you are greeted by Xander at the restaurant, he does so as though he is welcoming you into his own home. From the time you arrive until the time you leave, the term "100% satisfaction" comes to mind. This is the service which Xander provides... As I know the other servers do, as well. It's just that I am far more familiar with Xander and have been for many years now! He has quite "the following"!

Great food, great service - just a bit noisy for our liking - tables could be further apart.

Made a reservation tonight and although it was very busy, were seated soon after we arrived. Service was great with smiles and enthusiasm. Food was excellent and I didn't find it overly pricey. Nice atmosphere. We could talk to each other without raising our voices. I wish them all the success they certainly deserve.

Took mom Mom here this past weekend for her 75th Birthday and we all loved the atmosphere, food and especially the service:) They happily catered to my various allergies and we all loved our meals. Can't wait to go back!

Awesome food and fabulous service. Highly recommend the blackened scallops as an appetizer and the smoked sausage and chicken penne. Our server was Marley and she was a pleasure, so friendly and very attentive.

The table in front of us were over served and got loud, sloppy drunk. Lots of swearing. Would not recommend for families. Food was only ok, also saw several mice.

One of the best restaurant experiences in the HRM. Great atmosphere, superb service amazing food. Highly recommend the jambalaya.

The food (to my untrained Palat) seemed authentic Italian, very tasty. The servers were very friendly and fun. The price was maybe even less than what I expected. Make sure to make reservations on the weekends.

I’ll start with the staff are very polite and friendly but that’s about it.

The service was awful, we ordered drinks and had to remind the staff over and over again that our drinks still hadn’t arrived, we also requested some water part way through the meal which just never showed up.

The food was mediocre at best, the meat was very dry and chewy and the pasta over cooked, not really worth the price charged.

After the main desert was ordered and we asked a few question about some of the desert for allergy reason and the server didn’t seems to know a thing about the deserts… and once again after ordering some warm drinks to finish the night we waited and waited and waited, reminded the server multiple time.

Resto Urban Dining truly went above and beyond tonight and we could not be more impressed with their service! We placed an order on SkipTheDishes and the driver delivered it to the wrong address. After dealing with Skip's customer service we went ahead and placed our order again (we were really craving their delicious pasta!). When our food was finally delivered successfully we were pleasantly surprised to see Resto included an appetizer and a tasty vegan dessert at no extra cost, with a little note that said "for your troubles! " - when they weren't even at fault for the ordeal! We've dined-in at Resto before and the food is always amazing, the staff are absolutely lovely, and they have a wonderful selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Thanks for making our night Resto Urban Dining, we look forward to enjoying more of your food soon!

Parking is a bit tight. We were in the back room which was nice and cozy with a fireplace. The menu has a good selection. Everyone should be able to find something they like. Adjustments and substitution don't seem to be a problem. Service was very good.

We had a delicious meal at Resto Urban Dining! My mother who has Celiac’s Disease was pleased to have yummy gluten free options to choose from. The spinach dip was excellent and we’d definitely go back for the pasta! Our server was also super friendly. Thank you!

This is by far the BEST restaurant in Nova Scotia, if not the Maritimes. I can't wait to go back!

This is a gem of a spot! Perfect for getting together with friends and family. Not pretentious at all. Excellent food. Friendly and efficient service. Wish I knew of it long ago. Will return at every opportunity. Thank you Xander and Heather.

My first time here, the food was delicious! The waitress was lovely, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Will definitely be returning.

My husband and I went to Restos for our birthday supper. Service was great. My meal was really poor and it was their evening special. There was literally one Tbsp of sauce for my meat. The mushrooms were shriveled up. Our free bday dessert was not honored even though we requested the bday dessert thinking, oh this is kinda fun to choose something free. We did not realize this until we were home looking at receipt.
Spoke with the mgr within two days. She did not apologize and was quite reactive stating, if you were concerned you need to say something at your meal. She said she would call back and 24 hours later I have not heard from her. We spent 148.00 that evening and I will not go back.

Owner Marlene is fabulous to work with. Booked my daughters babyshower over the phone with Marlene as we are in Ontario. Food was fabulous, Melissa our server was very personable and helpful. Marlene allowed us to decorate the booked room and everyone commented on how perfect the space was for our event. After speaking with many other venues in Halifax, Dartmouth, Hammonds Plains, and Bedford, I would highly recommend Resto hands down.
