Rhubarb

Fist, as you enter there is no sign to tell you to wait to be seated, so naturally you sit yourself at a table. Then after 10 minutes we are at the table a waitress comes to tell us to move from the reserved table (there was no sign to tell us the table was reserved). So we both order fish and chip. After a wait we got our order, dried-up French fries and oily crunchy bathered haddock. Very expensive for the quality of the food. This was our first time at this highly recommended restaurant, which highly do NOT recommend.

So, I recently gave Rhubarb restaurant a shot, and I have to say, it was a bit of a rollercoaster ride.

**Food: **
Let's kick things off with the good stuff – the food. I have to hand it to them; the dishes were impressive. From the appetizers to the desserts, they nailed the flavors and presentation. It was a culinary journey worth taking. I can't forget to mention the crispy haddock and seafood chowder – they were really good! The haddock was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the chowder was a delightful blend of flavors.

Now, here's where things took a nosedive. The manager seemed like she had a bad day or something. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, she insisted that our group of five split up into separate tables because of "reservations. " It was strange and unwelcoming. Thankfully, one of the waitstaff came to the rescue, but that initial encounter with the manager left a sour taste.

**Ambiance: **
On the bright side, the restaurant itself had a nice vibe. The interior was well thought out, and the lighting set the mood just right. It's a shame that the seating hiccup overshadowed this pleasant atmosphere.

All in all, Rhubarb restaurant serves up some great food, but they really need to work on their service and how they manage reservations. With a bit more attention to customer experience, it could be a fantastic dining spot.

Great place with a oddly diverse menu. Our group ordered very different items and everything was excellent. Also had well made cocktails.

Very nice restaurant! Tastefully furnished and therefore very comfortable. We really enjoyed the food The quality of the food was excellent!

Service excellent, food delicious. Need I say more. The Haddock stew was delicious as was the seafood chowder and garlic fingers. We'll be back. Lots of parking you may need reservations depending on time of day and I understand why.

I very much enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere here. I tried their crispy haddock which was fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!

We had the clam chowder, haddock, Greek pizza, and rhubarb custard pie as a dessert. Everything was delicious, and staff were helpful and friendly!

Great place near Peggy's Cove, view of the water and many great gluten free options! Gf fish and chips were delicious (dedicated fryer). Gf pizza also amazing!

I’ve had fish n chips many times in the UK, and this is the best one I’ve had this side of the Atlantic. The differentiator, in my opinion, was the thin and crispy batter on the fresh haddock. Delicious!

The fish tacos were amazing. Wish they had a few more choices that were not fish as my husband cannot eat. Desert was delicious but pie looked liked it had been Beaten, but still tasted great

Did a fish n chips take out. The portion size of fish was on the smaller side for that price point. But overall the flavor and freshness was really good.

Romantic atmosphere and amazing food! Loved the mussels, mushroom toast, and the seafood pasta.

Nice place but a bit too small! Very artistic! Sadly I was very disappointed with their menu.
Very limited choices! They didn't serve lobster! Only lobster rolls.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, a table of 5 (and a walk-in on top of that) we were lucky to get a seat.
I had the roast beet salad, it was delicious.
The only downside is there were probably 2 other tables of 5 near us and it being such a small space they were too loud for my liking but what can you do?
This would not discourage me from going back, maybe next time we can sit outside.

Amazing flavors! Seafood pasta was fresh and delicious! On the way to or back from Peggy's Cove, you have to stop at Rhubarb. It's a must try

Delicious food. We can't pick our favorite as we ordered 5 mains and they were all so delightful. Friendly with kids and lots of gf and vegetarian options as well. Amazing finish to peggys cove day.
