Make a reservation. Super busy! Service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Meals well proportioned and so tasty! The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The only thing is that for as busy as it always is, there are only two bathrooms and I don't know what y'all are doing in there but Jesus Christ other people need to use the bathroom.

Amazing spot, the wait staff was on point the pasta was perfect and overall an amazing night out. I’m not sure what the heck was going on in the bathrooms as it was queued up every time. Very very odd but other than that expect a fantastic meal

Perfect Italian food experience. Mega pizza and the tiramisu for dessert is a poem! And last but not least: great service.

The food was incredible but I went for my birthday and I got a very bad experience with a rude waitress, she was very rude.

Have to say, this may be some of the best service I have ever seen, Miccey and Rob are some of the best bartenders one could ask for! 10/5 would come back again

The food quality is lovely but they seem to have a big problem with standardizing the portions of their entrees and having accurate descriptions of their other items. Like some of the other reviews, I ordered the tortellini al prosciutto which would be a great main dish if the portion size was double what it was. Meanwhile, my wife ordered the shrimp fettuccine and got this massive plate of food. I was a bit surprised the server didn't notice the weight difference: my wife's main (which was identically priced) was nearly enough for two while mine was barely an appetizer. Also, we ordered the focaccia starter and what we were served was more of a toasted flatbread with a strange and spicy (but good) dip that didn't seem to be anywhere on the menu. The server confirmed that what we got was what they considered a focaccia but be aware that it isn't what the menu says (which is focaccia with olive oil, salt and herbs). The atmosphere was wonderful (very busy for a thursday) and the service itself was great but I walked away hungry.

Great experience all around, our food was amazing, the service was quick and friendly and food fresh and hot on arrival. If you're looking for great Italian this is the place for you!

Not a pleasant dining atmosphere as it is extremely noisy and crowded. Because it was noisy it was difficult to have a conversation without yelling. Food was tasty but very small portions for the prices they charge, especially for pasta dishes. Waitress seemed unimpressed about serving us. I live in Halifax, but won’t be returning. Disappointing.

This is my partner and I’s go to date night restaurant! The food, drinks and service are always incredible. My partner is obsessed with their pizza and I like to try to various pasta dishes. Never disappoints!

Never disappointed. Had the Tagliatelle and Banana cheesecake. Both were perfect! Also have the best Aperol Spritz:) Highly reccommend!

We had a great time at dinner and have had great dinners most times we visit A Mano. The last time 3/4 of us who shared the Jumbo Shrimp came down with food poisoning. Only us 3 shared the shrimp and it was the only meal we shared that day so it's not hard to see where it came from. The manager did their due diligence and the temperature logs checked-out so it couldn't have been from them, obviously. They were still willing to apologize and leave a gift card for us which we really appreciated. A little upset that a restaurant of this status would only leave $30 as a "sorry for giving you food poisoning". We'll be sure to order an old fashioned with 3 straws when we decide to use the gift card. Lol

Food was great, price was not too expensive for the food that we got. The food itself was delicious. They have a heated outdoor patio with a really nice design. The pizzas are a good idea, especially for a group.

The food was quite good, the ambiance was lovely and we would return. The only little complaint that I have is that we asked for a few meatballs to add to our son's meal and they were incredibly expensive to add on!

Last night I ordered their main course Tuna medium rare with my other 4 course meal. They served tuna which was bad. My stomach is upset and in pain today. Staffs were very friendly, but if they don't keep the quality of food, that's not a place I'd go back.

Very cozy Italian restaurant. Friendly staff. The food was really tasty. It was really busy we went on a one day teip to Halifax, the staff made sure we got seats on the patio. I would recommend this if you a fan of pasta and pizza. See attached picture of some our food!

We went there for a late lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. My wife ordered the ravioli and I ordered the seafood linguini. The ravioli was good but the linguini was superb! We didn't get any bread with our pasta and our waiter never ask us if we wanted parmesan cheese for our pasta. He asked every other tables. Also waiter asked us how our food was only when we just finishing our meal. Overall, we were satisfied with our food and the price is very reasonable. Better service would be nice. Oh! Let's have some bread with our pasta. Eh!

We chose this place for a couple of reasons; we couldn't get into the Bicycle Thief and this place had glowing reviews.the combination of music and patron chatter made it impossible to carry on a conversation at our table because it was too loud. Our server was very attentive. My meal was 'ok', definitely not worth the $30 they charged for it. Our guest was too gracious to complain in any way, so i cannot comment on her meal. My Dad ordered the chicken scallopini, it had a small bone in it and skin, neither of which belonged in his dish, the chicken was very dry and he left more than half of his meal. I don't think we will be back.

Just a wonderful place to eat. The food quality and presentation are excellent. This is a place where quality comes before quantity. So do not expect huge portions but rather culinary excellence. The decor is very nice with a subtle upscale feel without being pretentious. The staff is well trained and superb. Would give them an extra star of I could.

The amano restaurant was fantastic. We had reservations for 5: 30 on valentines weekend. We were seated promptly. We sat out in the inclosed balcony which had infrared heaters about every table, as well as blankets offered by the restaurant (although sadly we weren’t offered any).

It was a cozy spot, but bring a jacket because you will still get a chill. Both our appetizer and main meal was delicious. We will definitely be back to try more food on the menu!

They are classy clients-devoted team that perfected their cooking and service skills to the excellence. They implemented a concept of a happy family meal for a special occasion, and community members always trying to match their efforts by dressing up and tuning in. Reciprocating, the team takes care of you with a warm plaid during a winter storm or a heavy cold rain, or with a treat when your friend did not make it due to an inclement weather. I recently had a brunch at a Mano with my friends from the country where food is a cult, and they were amazed how fresh and healthy (my friend is a doctor) the meals were. We ordered delicious arugula frutti-natti salads, lamb in berry sauce, tuna in pistachio crust, and gelato and a light mascarpone cheesecake for desert. Special thanks to Ryan for helping us to make choices and paying attention to details.

Great ambiance, friendly staff. They even bumped up my order queue because I was in a rush. The food was equally great too.

We loved it. Had the arugula salad and the fruitti di mare. Both were exquisite. And the service was impeccable. Wish I’d taken photos to post.

The food was amazing as always! Currently eating a dairy free diet thanks to potential allergies and my server Adrianne was extremely knowledgeable about what items were dairy free/could be made that way. Shout out to the kitchen for customizing my pasta to be dairy free, it was delicious!

A great Italian experience in Halifax. We have been here a few times and it is always good. They have excellent COVID protocols in place, so we felt safe there. Wait staff were good and knowledgable about the menu. All four people in our party enjoyed their selections although my wife felt her meal was not really warm enough. Their menu is VERY Italian with an excellent selection of anything yu would want for a good Italian experience.

Great food. Loved the pizzas. Service, while initially good, fell off significantly when more sizable groups started arriving. Felt ignored as waited with no service for 15-20 minutes after we were finished our meal. I should note also provided feedback to restaurant itself afterwards and did not receive a response. Food was good and will give a second chance but looking for improvement next time or that will be it.

This is another favorite, consistently great food and service. The gnocchi is fabulous. There was five of us each having three courses, empty plates all round. Great night out.

Enjoyed an excellent meal and exceptional service. Management and staff were apologetic and when they were slightly late in filling our reservation. The appetizers were generously portioned and the seafood linguine perfectly looked. I found the food and the dining experience to be good value, and I look forward to dining here again.

I ordered the Margherita pizza as take out, and was sadly disappointed. I have eaten at a Mano many times, and have never been disappointed until last night. The pizza crust was so thin as to be a cracker, with little bubbling. I love thin crust, but appreciate when there’s still pliability with a crisp crust. I had asked for extra basil and spicy Chile oil, which I did not receive.

Kyle was by far the nicest and most welcoming server I have ever had. He ensured we were well taken care of and was such a pleasure to be waited by. The food was amazing as well and the pizza is 10: 10.

Our go to when we want good Italian food. We park down by the casino and walk the waterfront, makes for a great outing. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff.

The service was exceptional, the food was absolutely amazing. As a single lady traveling, I felt safe, secure and we'll treated. I know sometimes a single person dining gets ignored. Watching Sebastian mixing cocktails was delightful, and his fantastic attention to my needs was above and beyond. There's a reason it was packed full on a Monday night.

Never disappoints, I recommend making a reservation a day or two in advance depending on the date.

Great experience over all. Had the scallops that were cooked perfectly. Was sat very quickly n host was very professional and friendly as was the bartender. Only thing was my wine was served in a overly chipped carafe. Bacteria builds up in those chips, anything chipped should not be used, it should be binned. Thanks

This is a bit of a delayed review but I have been to A Mano twice and both times it has been awesome! The most recent time we lucked out and had Erin B who was absolutely awesome! She was attentive, friendly and provided excellent information and recommendations. As she brought the food out, I was waiting in a big lineup for the washroom; she noticed and put the food in the back to stay warm to make sure when my pizza came out, it wasn't cold. Thank you for an excellent night! I'll be back for sure.

Ordered on line. Delivery came before expected which was great. Food was delivered hot. Lasagna was the best I have had to date. My wife loved her gnocchi.
That was last year. August 16 2021 we dined in. Food was superb. Service was impeccable. Ambience perfect. One of Nova Scotia's best and one of our faves now.

Was very happy to come back to Amano after I moved out of the area several years ago. Visted 3 times in two weeks with my family from Toronto. The food was great and the staff were very pleasant. Definately recommend a stop in if you have not been before.

We were told there was an hour wait for the patio or we could sit at the pizza bar. It was a blessing in disguise. It was wonderful to watch all the food being prepared and just made us even hungrier! The food was delicious and the service was quick and attentive. The portions were generous and the ambiance is lovely. We couldn't wait to start eating we forgot to take photos for the review and the empty plates say it all. Would definitely return. Strongly suggest a reservation. If you're looking for a view of the waterfront it's slightly obstructed by the parking lot.

WOW. What an absolutely life changing experience Ristorante A Mano was this past weekend. I had been dreaming of going for months and when we finally got time off, we booked a table, and it was more than I was dreaming of. It exceeded every expectation we had and truly was the highlight of our romantic weekend getaway.
First off, the atmosphere and ambiance is unbeatable. You truly feel like you are living in a lap of luxury while you're there. The seating is intimate and very comfortable, with cozy lighting and spectacular views.

The food, I feel like there is hardly the right words to explain how absolutely delicious everything was. Each bite made me exclaim "wow! ". Because I had been anticipating my dinner there for a while we went all out and ordered 2 starters: the Sgabello which was to die for and I am still dreaming about, and the Gamberi which were hands down the most beautifully cooked shrimp I have ever had, and I am a shrimp fanatic. For our mains we each got out own carbonara and W. O. W.the level of finesse was unreal, my fiance got the seafood linguine which I was actually jealous of due to how incredible it was, he gave me a scallop from it and I have never had such a tender beautiful scallop in all my life and I have lived in Digby! I also got the mushroom pizza and no word of a lie I could eat it daily for the rest of my life.

The service was also impeccable, we had an amazing server who was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the food and cocktails and made sure our evening went perfectly.

This was 6 days ago and every day since I have not stopped talking about this dining experience and have recommended it to countless people.

We cannot wait to return to try more of the menu! Cheers to such an amazing establishment.

Was in for dinner on the 24th with my partner and a few friends. We were served by Britany and she was fantastic, absolutely killed it for one of her first shifts. She was attentive, fast, and friendly. We started with the Schiacciata, which was surprisingly good! I had the Lasagna for my main, which was good, and my partner had the Rigatoni Alla Piemontese which she thought was okay, but I felt was a bit meh, however, all in all, a great experience. The atmosphere was great, the food came out quickly given how busy it was, and the restaurant was clean!

My favorite restaurant in Halifax. Their menu is amazing, Zuppa di pesce is delicious. The staff is so friendly and they always make you feel welcome. I love going there!

It was my first time when my friends and I ate here. I wasn't familiar with almost everything on the menu but our server was very nice and helped us. I ended up ordering the vegetarian pizza which was a first to me. It was definitely a unique (good) one, I'll never forget it:) Also, I had the best iced tea with the lemon on top, that was my favourite part of the meal:)

Really slow kitchens (1 hour wait after ordering). The staff was courteous and the food was better than average. Thus the 2 stars.

Great food, great service, friendly staff members. We made reservations prior coming here. Restaurant is really clean, located right on the waterfront walk. We ordered a pizza and pasta. Food was amazimg, big portions as well! Highly recommended! I did everything take out. 100% recommended. It’s telling you by a person who is super picky with food.

I came here for the first time on a business meeting and i was blown away with their food. The food was so tasty, their servings were big and the pricing was even better. The staff here were super friendly and their desserts were to die for. I cant wait to go back and eat there again. I defnetly recommend this place.

Met long time friends at our nearby hotel and walked to Amano. We had reservations and we quickly greeted and seated. It was a tad crowded however it did not change our plans. The service was spot on, quick, polite and the server well versed in the menu answering all our questions. Beverages were ordered and dinner began. We started off with the local scallop appy which was divine. Hubby enjoyed the lasagna and I enjoyed the house special. Our server was discrete with keeping the water glasses full along with our beverages. Our desserts were also delicious. I would certainly return to this spot should we be back in Halifax. Well done!

Wait staff was very honest with the wait time (45 minutes)! The wait was worth it as meals arrived at our table in excellant condition and tasty!

My first time dining at Restorante a Mano was a very pleasurable experience. Our waitress was pleasent and attentive. We waited a very reasonable amount of time for our food, and when it came it was served hot and delicious. It did get quite busy after 6pm, I was glad we got there a bit earlier. Would like to go back again soon.

Delicious food, great service. Recently renovated for a fresh clean look. Calamari appie is super delicious - as in some of the best I've had. Delcious gnocci & tiramisu too. Need to reserve in advance. Very busy place!

Beautiful spot, we went in about 50 minutes before closing time and we didn't get any flack for it. Waitress was consistently checking in, despite how busy it was, and knew the menu well, portions could be bigger but overall a very nice atmosphere.

Good ambience. Service was slow. The food - the appetizer was mind blowing and I was licking the plate but the pasta left a lot to be desired. I'm assuming I just picked the wrong thing. The drinks were amazing too!

I just ordered take out from A Mano in downtown Halifax and opened my dish to find two long eyelash-looking hairs in my food. Very disappointed.

Best Italian in Berlin.
Pasta was incredible. Go for the goat cheese and truffles stuffed gnoccis.
Italian antipasto was great too.
Even beef was good.

Amazing amazing amazing.a Mano is one of my favorite spots to have lunch/dinner in Halifax. Can't get enough of their freshly made pasta. Highly recommend.
