Robie Street Dental Centre

No respect for peoples time and dreadful communication. After almost a year and a half of cancellations and rescheduling by my dentist, I was finally booked in to see them at 2: 10pm today.
At 12: 10pm I received a text from their office saying "Hi Ben! It's E*** from Robie Street Dental, would you be able to come in at 1: 40 for your appointment today? We've had to move some things around in the schedule:) ". As I was working I didnt see this until nearly 1: 30 when I was leaving my home (30 mins away) for my appointment.

When I arrived I was told 'Were not sure if the dentist can see you today, well have to check. We sent you a message. '. Both the people at the front desk were quite gruff and not friendly nor welcoming and made it seem like it was my fault and problem if I couldnt been seen. The message did not say 'if you cant come at 1: 40 we may have to reschedule, nor did it say to contact them, nor was a voicemail left explaining the situation.

Giving a person 2 hours notice to rearrange their day bc of their staffing issues and to not properly communicate that is unacceptable.
Not to mention that I havent been able to see my dentist bc for the last 1.5 years they have cancelled and rescheduled.

So here we are, both my husband (who drives me) and myself, at a loss of half a days pay and the gas to come into town, bc of their poor staffing and communication.

Add to this that I am a disabled person, with Autism and ADHD it was incredibly uncaring, inconsiderate, ableist and not the way you talk to people in any regard, but especially a vulnerable person. Do better.

Disrespectful, unprofessional, ableist and just plain rude. Ive been a patient of Dr. Kamras for nearly 7 years, and will be switching dentists and offices after this as my time is valuable and I dont appreciate those who cant respect others time.

I’ve had the best teeth cleanings/hygiene appointments of my life with Careen, she’s extremely thorough and friendly! I’ve also had wonderful experiences with Dr. Kamra. I really appreciate how they both take the time to make sure I have an informed experience, always explaining procedures and diagnoses in detail before I even ask questions. Unlike at other clinics I’ve been to in Halifax, I’ve never had any issues with fillings (and I tend to get a lot of cavities). I’m happy to have found a dental clinic I can trust!

I had work done in November of last year and everything seemed quite all right up Monday of this week. The filling failed, took a few days to get in contact with the office to only be told the one I had seen no longer worked there and the other dentist had his own patients so he wouldn't be able to see me at all. Now I'm stuck with a cavity and no way to fix it unless I return to my home province - seriously take your oral care elsewhere and maybe have your fillings last longer then six months.

The appointment was on time and very efficient. The room was clean and all Covid protocols were followed.

I have recently moved to Halifax and had this practice recommended to my wife and me. We have both found the entire staff to be welcoming and exceptionally competent. We are very happy to be having our dental needs looked after in such a friendly, caring environment.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Sara Aly at Robbie Street Dental Centre.
It was a wonderful experience as I am always anxious when I go to the dentist appointment.
Reception staff, dental assistant and the dentist were very nice and made it easy for me.
I will highly recommend this dental office to my family and friends.

Such an amazing team. I'm always greeted at the front desk, the entire staff is so lovely and does a great job of making their clients feel comfortable. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in Halifax!

I can’t believe such a gang of great people would be found under one roof. I am getting much higher quality of service there than anywhere else, including the service industry. I was never in pain, never uncomfortable, and always treated like an esteemed customer, though my invoices are in the very low range. I could not imagine going somewhere else, or recommending someone else.

For someone who deals with severe anxiety I couldn't have been recommended to a better place! I felt so comfortable and understood, all my questions were answered with no problem and lots of engagement, everyone was so nice it was the first time I wanted to stay and hangout at the dentist!
I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Gentle Dental.very professional and courteous dentist and staff who are always a pleasure to visit. I am extremely confident to recommend their services to family and friends.

I have gone here twice. The first visit was great, and the second one was also good. The staff were professional and friendly and respected my limited insurance coverage. They offered my some cheaper alternatives to an expensive bite plane. However, I was promised $50 off my next appointment when I referred a friend, which I did, and this was not honoured. It may seem like a small thing, but it would have covered my entire bill after insurance and as a student that is a lot of money. I was also not informed beforehand that this was no longer in effect. All in all, it would have been better to honour the promise for all who it was offered to and just not offer it to people in future.

I've been with these folks for 19 years and have had nothing but excellent experiences. Even fillings and, heaven forbid, extractions are fun with these guys. I'd highly recommend them to everyone.

I've been going here since I moved to Halifax and I find the team very welcoming and professional. They were the only clinic I called that booked me same day due to a dental issue. They take the time to work the insurance/financial stuff with you and the service has been top notch.

Dr. Ngan is highly skilled. I have some crazy dental problems due to past dentist poor care and my own neglect. Dr. Ngan addresses these problems in a straightforward way. I have absolutely no hesitation allowing him to take care of all my dental issues. I can’t tell you how happy I am to have had him recommended to me.

This has been, by far, the best dental experience I have had to date. The dental office is extremely welcoming and all staff are friendly. Dr. Kao and his team were incredibly thorough and walked me through each step of the process. I truly don't have anything negative to say. 10/10 would recommend!

This was by far the best dental experience I’ve ever had. The staff is incredibly caring and sensitive. The exam and cleaning were extremely thorough. They offered in depth explanations for everything that they do, and why they do it, which left me with a much greater understanding of my dental care. I left feeling that I was in good hands and not just another patient on the chair. I would recommend anyone looking for a new dentist to stop looking and book an appointment here.

To this day, even the word dentist induces a stress response as my childhood memories of braces and tooth pullings flood back. So I have been consistently impressed with the level of knowledge, professionalism, and genuine friendliness that I have experienced at my recent visits to Robie Street Dental. Don't let the back entrance and unassuming building scare you away, everyone from the lovely ladies at the front desk, through to the Hygienist and Dentist, have been warm, knowledgable and completely happy to answer any questions and deal with a nervy new patient. Pricing is very reasonable and planning for what work needs to be done and why/when is pragmatic and thoroughly explained. I will reccomend to everyone I know.

This is an outstanding clinic! I’m from the Yukon and had to have emergency work completed while on vacation. Dr Kao is the utmost professional with fantastic bedside manner. The clinic staff are very knowledgeable with all aspects of the clinic. The team explained all the procedures and billing so that I completely understood what was going to happen. They even direct billed my insurance provider. So I highly recommend this team for your dental needs.

I had my first fillings done at this office and was extremely nervous! Dr. Kamra and her staff made me feel very welcome and at ease.
