I stood at the pro desk and waited patiently with my kiddo. I was ignored by 2 staff behind the counter. When I finally gave up and walked away they still didn't acknowledge me. The cashier was friendly but couldn't answer my question. Only the pro desk could. So I left. It was dead there were more staff than customers. Won't be back.

I would like to shop at Rona, but whenever I go there with a light bulb or a part to match or I am looking for some potting and gardening supplies, I can't find what I am looking for. The young staff are very friendly and acknowledge me on the way in and on the way out when I don't find what I need. (I am truly impressed with their greeting sincerity)

I completely understand that Rona stores are smaller and therefore have less of everything. That would be okay if I could just find what I am looking for most of the time.

Perhaps instead of 6 choices of a particular product like Kent or Home Depot, they only have 2, instead of 0. Home hardware seems to have smaller stores and yet I rarely walk away empty-handed when shopping at Redmond's home hardware in tantallan.

I just ordered a lift of pine and the lengths are either exactly on the foot or slightly under. So they aren't long enough for me to square my ends. I'm furious.

Staff member Sadman was extremely helpful and kind while helping multiple patrons, including one on the phone. So impressed with his customer service skills - Rona is lucky to have him!

This is a magic store it looks small but no matter how weird an item I need they have it. Staff is also very helpful.

Didn't have what I was looking for (water softening salt) but there was someone to help me who was very friendly had helpful suggestions.

Love this store, my absolute GoTo place. Everyone is so helpful, I never waste any time in here, they tell me or show me exactly which isle I need

Worst Rona I have ever been to. I would imagine the only reason they are still in business is because they are the only hardware store in the city. Terrible service and terribly stocked.

These fine folks were able to show me right to where everything was that I needed. Today I needed tile replacement gear. Who knows what I'll need tomorrow.

The only store of this kind in the area! You've got all you need without driving all the way to Bayer Lake, or Dartmouth. Lots of parking, with on-line pick up parking spots marked clearly. The inside is very organized and clean! Following the aisle signs, I was able to find what I needed and be back to my car within 5 minutes!

Nice to have a hardware store in the city but selection is pretty limited. No real garden center to speak of. Honestly surprises me they're still in business.

Pro Desk does not answer the phone. Get put on hold and then then just hang up every time. Not good customer service at all!

Tony on the Pro Desk in Halifax is great to deal with, very professional and keen to make sure our needs were meet. They got a great employee in him!

Clowns want $80 shipping fee to bring a sheet of plywood 1.5 KM from store to my home. Laughable

Great, I was looking for a clothes Washer and they explained all the features on the different models and Warranties.big help.

Went there with my wife to buy an electric water heater. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had intended on putting the heater in the van but we're told you can't lay them bown, so we opted for delivery.

We were told they would deliver it right down to the basement for us. That turned out not to be the case. The delivery guy was only going to drop it off in the driveway. After some small talk he eventually agreed to help get it as far as inside the front door.

Upon installation we discovered that the down spout is missing. Our plumber told us that there is supposed to be a long pipe that attaches to the tank in case there is too much pressure. And that it releases scalding water rather than blow up. Without the pipe there is a risk of someone being injured in the event that ever needs to release.

Rona on Almon Street, gets thumbs up from me.
We go in to spend hard earn money, and all we want is affordable products, and helpfull pleasant people, in my case to find product I need.

Shelf stocking is sometimes lacking, but the basics are usually there.
The Rona website is terrible and is not linked to this store's inventory in any way. This includes the sales displayed on the website. Once I saw a fantastic sale on patio stone, went to the store and they told me to get the sale price (per brick) I would have to order a whole container and ship it from Ontario. Whewf! I think this was better before the Lowes purchase.

An employee by the name of Doug Wright is rude and arrogant, talks too much about customers, very unprofessional. My sentiments are shared by other reviews on here about rude employees.

Here is what your home will look when you purchase flooring from Rona. I expected Rona to male the manufacturer honour the Warranty, instead Rona did virtually nothing!

WARNING TO ALL CONSUMERS

If you dont want your home to look like this embarrassment, I suggest buying anything but Mono Serra flooring! I regret ever buying their poor quality flooring. It cost me over $6000 including install plus another more $$$ to have it ripped out.

Mono Serra's laminate fell apart in less than a year. The cheap spray paint finish has not only rubbed off, but peeled. Anywhere that the furniture comes in touch with the flooring falls apart, and according to Mono Serra, the warranty does not cover the defects!

Mono Serra has no published phone number to contact them. When you attempt to contact them by email no one responds.

I would glad give Mono Serra no stars if it were an option!

This store exudes a small town feel with great personalized assistance from staff. Has most of the main things that any city-dwelling homeowner might need.

Great experience. Staff loaded a new snow blower and had me out of the loading bay in under 15 mins.

Friendly and helpful staff, frequently go above and beyond to help. When I bought my first car in late winter there was a snowstorm and I went to pick up a snow brush. They had already packed them away but the employee helping us felt so bad that she gave us her personal snow brush from her vehicle!

Small shop but has most of the necessities. The two staff members I talked to were kind and helpful. Very clean and well stocked for its size.

Went looking for a shower fixture, all fixtures mixed in with each other. Hard to find a particular one without waiting for someone to help, which never came.

I was very grouchy on my last visit but that's on me not on the store being out of mousetraps.
I think there is a pokestop just next door, a few spawns.

The line to the cash was really long, I didn't have any items. I asked if I could exit through the entrance because the exit was packed full of people and I was not able to social distance during the pandemic tbrough the exit but the entrance was completely empty with no one coming in. They refused to let me safety exit the store. I have to come with in 2' of 10 people at cash. I was a little on edge as earlier in the pandemic I had to get a covid test as I was in their store when they had positive cases and close proximity to their staff. I have to isolate for several days waiting. You'd think they would be a little sympathetic at my request.
Also they have not a very good selection of anything when ever Im there. Their location is convenient in the north end and that is their only good point.

Small store with limited stock, but more convenient from downtown if you don't need anything special.

Their curb side pick up is a joke. I had my kids with me and didn’t want to take them into the store, and their sign in the parking lot as well as the info on their website said that you could just called their number when you get there. There was no option to select for curbside pick up and good luck getting someone to answer the phone. If they do you are almost definitely put on hold. Been on hold twice now for almost ten minutes! Clearly phone in customers do not get proper service or are not valued. I finally got someone to help from the warehouse and took more than 10 mins for them to find it.clearly this place is not organized!

Ordered a large quantity of deck materials. Had to inquire in store and over the phone many times on the order after many weeks had passed.always had to deal with a different person. On other projects the previous year half of the material order shows up and the other half they say is “special order” so it won’t be arriving for weeks. Very hard to explain to clients how this could happen also the store will assume no responsibility for errors in their paper filling system and may claim they’ve lost your order.

Please beware of this, if you are a contractor you’re much better off going somewhere else to save yourself the frustration.

Friendly staff, nice location on penninsular Halifax.nice variety. Only caveat is the prices tend to be more than Canadian Tire, which is even more conveniently located.

A good neighbourhood hardware store, it's small but somehow they usually have better selection than home depot.

They charged for the wrong size product (by scanning the wrong barcode posted at the till) and I had to go back to the store 45 minutes away to get it fixed. The cashier just argued and was incapable of fixing the price correctly due to lack of math skills, and understanding of their system, all well arguing that she was correct. She got angry when I corrected her math, simply because I didn't want to be ripped off. Coupons come off before tax, not after tax. She couldn't understand this, or how it is reflected on their receipts. She also didn't understand the difference between $10 and 10% discount, even though it clearly showed "Saved $10.00" on the receipt. The manager (Kevin) just got angry with me for wanting things to be correct and threw money at me out of his own pocket because "that's the quickest way to get you out of the store". Instead he should have just acknowledged the cashier's mistake, told her so, and corrected the till the properly. I would have been happy. Instead, I will never return to this location again due to this terrible customer service experience.
