What a wonderful museum. I am a cooper by trade and to come to a place with such deep knowledge of the trade, I was absolutely in heaven. Thanks Christopher for showing my partner and I around the site. We had a wonderful time. The visit to Ross Farms was a highlight of our trip to the Eastern provinces. A true delight.

Always enjoy the place, especially knowing the history of the farm and homestead beginnings!
Enjoy the horse buggy ride, and the nice walking trail along Lake Lawson!

A must do if you’re around Halifax! Beautifully set, staff is super friendly and have so many stories to tell. Fun for all kind of publics. Also there’s a beautiful trail all around. And it’s open all year round!

Very enjoyable, good experience to bring kids to see what life was like not to long ago. Did not have as much time as we would have liked. Will be back.

Ross Farm is definitely a few steps back time. I believe the 100 years from 1816 to 1916. Described as an “upland farm” it really reminded of the similar farm that my great-grandparents built in the foot hills of North Carolina. Everyone was knowledgeable about farm life during that time period. It was an education and pleasure to attend. Well worth the drive.

Super knowledgeable museum guide in the cottage with lots of interesting bits of history to tell.

Ross Farm was our favorite museum on our trip to Nova Scotia. Really neat to see a farm that still runs the way it would have in the 1800s. All of the staff are very knowledgeable about their trades and we learned a lot. Definitely make time for a horse drawn wagon ride around the property and take a peak at the wigwam in the woods. It would be really cool if they did up the wigwam in a traditional Mi'qmak setup with help from the Mi'qmak people.

So much fun for the kids and adults! Coolest part is watching the farmers at work and seeing the horses plow the field! We had a blast at the Ross Farm Museum and really learned a lot! My favorite part was seeing the old house in almost perfect condition!

There on a school trip. Little to NO structure or guidance. Groups were roaming around expecting something from someone there and it never happened! The kids were young so they did t really notice so hence the 2 star rating. A nice historical journey into the past but not worth the whole morning we spent there. It could've been soooo much more.

This was great, every staff member had a story to tell. Lots to see. Its more for the kids to see and learn. But we enjoyed it also. Even bought somethings like a homemade spoon frim the gift store. I just wish they could of imprinted the name on it.

We had a great time! Lovely chatting with the staff on the farm and in the gift shop. Lots of animals to see. A great wagon tour around the property! We learned a lot in the Coopers barrel workshop, very nice gentleman. Wish I could have fit a barrel in my suitcase to take home!

Loved all the historical buildings, artifacts, and costumes, and the staff was informative and friendly. Wagon ride was fun and my 3 and 5 year old loved it! I’m glad I left my 2 year old at home as you’d need a stroller, etc, so that age is a bit young for this (in my opinion).

The staff were all very pleasant, knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge to make your visit to the farm most enjoyable. It's very clean and well run. I would recommend it to anyone!

My daughter, my husband and three kids went to visit yesterday. We had such a great time. Very informative and interesting. Since the entree fee was free we spent in the gift shop which had very pretty things. Thank you so much, we will be coming back to see the other stuff we missed due to tired children.

We had a great morning at Ross Farm. The children loved to visit the animals they remembered from last year and the new additions, piglets and a calf. The staff were very helpful and answered all our questions. I believe we started taking our daughter to Ross farm at about the same age as her youngest child is now. Thanks!

Another fantastic day with the fam at the farm - good for all ages, and always find great quality, unique treasures for decent prices at the gift shop!

Visited the farm today (despite the rain, hopeful that it would be less busy). The staff were in costume, friendly, and informative. The hot chocolate was delicious, and the homemade ice cream/cookies too. We still got a wagon ride despite the rain. Highlight of the visit, was seeing brand new triplet lambs! Spring chicks, new piglets and a pregnant cow-lots going on there. Our 4 year old loved it. Worth the drive from Hfx.

My boyfriend and I went to Ross Farm for Valentine's Day. It was beautifully quiet and absolutely serene with the snow on the ground from a few days prior snow fall. The staff were all fantastic. We were always greeted with smiles and kind eyes. A special shout out to Pete and Wade and the lovely lady doing the spinning demo (forgive me I forgot to ask your name) - these staff are absolutely lovely and provided my boyfriend and I with great conversation about real life of past and present times.

The animals were all friendly from sheep to horses to a very social barn cat. The Canadian horse drawn sleigh ride through the Snow trails was beautiful and perfect for our romantic day.

Thank you to all the staff and your contributions to making out weekend a little more special. We both haven't been back to Ross Farm since we were children but we certainly weren't disappointed, in fact, we appreciated it a lot more. The future is the past - keep up the great work at honoring our traditional heritage and culture. ️
