Route 19 Brewing

Came to Inverness to stay at Cabot golf resort! We came here one night and sat on the patio and had the best service and the burger. Omg the burger. So good! So we came back the next 2 nights! Got the wonton nachos and the club as well! All so delicious and the staff was all friendly and lovely! It was a nice way to end our busy days!

Total lack of beers on tap. 4-5 max beers available, while having ~12 beers listed.

I had their Pale Ale, which was good. The establishment looked nice. The restaurant menu was appealing but chose not to partake due to disappointment in beer selection.

Very bad attendance, even more than half an hour for the close, didn’t serve anything.
Very unpolite. Not backing for sure.

Low rating because… imagine you’re coming to the BREWERY with 13 beers on tap and they can pour only 3 beers and have only 2 different ones in the cans…

Nice servers and nice spot, that's about all unfortunately. Doesn't matter what restaurant it is, a BURGER should never take an hour. Ended up getting it to go after waiting an hour, and holy eff was it a terrible burger. Like I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews, I really don't, but my God. There's a difference between crunchy onions and the burger itself just being charred and crunchy. Barf, puke, gag. Again, servers were very nice and great views, but just go and get some drinks, don't do the food thing, it's not worth it.

We enjoyed a great meal with our three kids here on their front deck. The view is beautiful and all the food was delicious. Pretty fast service too but after 5pm there was a lineup

Stopped in during one of our staycation trips loved the food loved the drinks. Service was fast and good. Bathrooms were very clean. The whole place was very clean and well presented.

Waited over an hour for our food, we were only 2 and the patio was empty, some tables inside empty as well. Obviously short staffed in the kitchen. We could have been told. Food arrived waaay overcooked and cold. I said no spicy aioli on the burger, it came with spicy on one half. Don’t know how that works.
Overall food not great, service so so. Very disappointed. If we were not so hungry and tired from the day’s travelling, would have simply left. Instead had indigestion for our sins.

I had been looking forward to eating at this place for some time but was sadly disappointed tonight. We are two couples traveling with two young kids. The place is a brewery but they do have a kids menu. It was clearly busy when we first got there at about 7: 15 but we only had a short wait for a table. Ordered two kids pasta dishes, two orders of nachos, club sandwich, and sweet potato fries, nothing too complicated, and two flights of beer.
Beer was good and served quickly. But it was 46 minutes for us to get our food. (Felt like an hour to me but the manager whom I asked to speak to at the end because I thought the length of time we had to wait was unreasonable, assured me that she checked the time the order was put in against the time it was brought to the table and it was 46 minutes). The manager offered no apology, because according to her on a busy night and when they’re short staffed 46 minutes is not an unreasonable length of time to wait. I disagreed. I asked if there was anything she could do about the bill. I even gave some suggestions, and would have been happy having 1 of the kids’ meals comped or one flight, and she flat out REFUSED because in her opinion it was not unreasonable. Apparently it didn’t matter that two little kids were very hungry or that a customer was unhappy.
I understand about being short staffed and busy. But they really weren’t that short staffed. There were 3 people in the kitchen and lots of wait staff working. And it wasn’t exactly packed either. Busy but not “slammed. ”
No apology from the manager “we could have stayed closed but we chose to open despite being short staffed” was one of my favorite lines. What sort of logic is that? Why does that excuse such long wait times for food? I’m not sure how that works.
Bottom line: I was very disappointed, despite the tasty beer and gorgeous sunset view. I will certainly not be giving them my business again.

Quick stop on our way through town. Had a number of beers (flights), some nachos and onion rings.
Food was amazing!
Beer was great!
Service was top notch.
The view from the patio is incredible.
Would 100% recommend.

This restaurant is 5 star, had a great experience with Jared as our Server! The food was great, service great and prices were fair! You do not go away hungry! Highly recommend you go here when in Inverness! Thank you Jared and Route 19!

Absolutely delicious food and beer (specifically the 1497 IPA), reasonably priced, and a fantastic view of the beach and golf course! Highly recommend if you are passing through or in Inverness.

Decent beer, amazing view from the patio.

The service was less than standard, seemed to not want to be there, when asking for the experimental beer or was a chore to tell me. But that's what the menu says to do.

When asked what the kombucha flavor was, responded with "I didn't know what that was". Congress back to explain kombucha and still doesn't have the flavour, and called it pink.

Food was not the greatest. Don’t understand how you can mess up nachos lol it’s 4 Ingredients total lol service was poor waitress never brought waters or asked how the food was. She only spoke to us when it came to pay lol

The fries were crispy and fresh, the meat in my burger was steaming until I finished it and we received our plates quickly. Washroom was clean. Would recommend!

Perfect place to stop for a meal and a beer! We came on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't overly busy. Service is attentive and quick. The food is amazing! Had the chicken club and seafood chowder and a side of mashed potatoes. Absolutely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Fantastic place to stop. We had NE IPA supernova. We also had the seafood chowder which honestly was the best we had in Nova Scotia. Our waitress Samie was wonderful. Looking over Cabot Cliffs gokf course was a bonus. Gotta stop here to eat and drink!

Can't beat the view - the ocean is across the street! Friendly and attentive service from the staff. I went with my in-laws and my husband. We had a Caesar salad (topped with fresh bacon!), ribs (which was delicious!), salad topped with chicken, burger and poutine. Nobody at the table had a bad thing to say about their meal. There was also a glass of an Italian pinot grigio, a 19th hole beer, and a mermaid lemonade cocktail (sweet and refreshing!) served in a cute Mason jar. There's a retail shop on site if you want to take home merch or beers for yourself. Casual dining and a nice atmosphere. 10/10.

Terrible service, some food was served cold after an hour wait and only 7/9 meals came, last two meals were forgotten about and served when everyone else was done. Felt like a bother to ask for forks, knives and condiments after we got our food and some were not brought. Some food also didn’t arrive at all and we still got charged for it and needed to ask for a refund. When we let them know there was food cooked into the fish the server didn’t offer a refund until a fuss was made. Won’t be coming back! Very little veggie choices as well

Loved the venue, the food and the drinks. We all had an exceptional time there. The inside is beautifully done and the upstairs venue was very entertaining for their Kitchen Fest night. We had a great time and we'll certainly be returning next time we are in the area! Give the "Sandcastle" beer a try. Once I had it, I was hooked for the night.

Bel endroit avec une vue magnifique sur le golfe St-Laurent. Ils ont quelques bonnes bières à essayer, surtout les IPA (selon mon chum). A quelques KM de la distillerie Glenora.

Can’t recommend food because we ended up cancelling the order after waiting for 40 minutes.

Update: we eventually went back after watching the sunset at the beach and the service was equally terrible. This seems like a management issue — the staff who were actually working seemed really stressed, like they were trying but were inadequately supported. And, as it turns out, they were. There were a number of staff members socializing at the bar instead of supporting their colleagues who were clearly overwhelmed. Again, this is a management issue. There is poor leadership on this team, so poor workers aren’t held accountable and the dedicated workers are left holding the bag of everyone else’s failures.

The food was ok (once we finally got it, an hour later). Flavour wasn’t bad, but the presentation was notably sloppy. The pulled pork was barely on the bun — almost like it had been literally thrown onto a plate that already had a (stale, squished) bun on it. They had squirted a mostly empty bottle of BBQ sauce onto the bun. It splattered all over the rest of the plate so it got on your hands and clothes if you touched the plate. The kitchen was somehow both rushed AND taking forever to get food out. Again, seemed like a lack of leadership in the restaurant.

Overall, the venue is really nice and the concept is a great addition to the area, but the owners of this establishment will have to step up their leadership significantly to be successful in this tight knit community. The current state just isn’t going to cut it, and in a small community like Cape Breton, it won’t take long for word to get around… if they can even keep enough good staff to keep the place running in the meantime.

I would really have liked to give this company a higher rating, as the view is one of the best of CB restaurants I've experienced. However, there is definitely room for improvements. While the beer is great, the food is a bit overpriced (8 wings for $17) and the service is subpar. Staff, while very nice, wasn't attentive.

So this place is a real mixed bag but in the end they are falling short of where a brewery/ restaurant needs to be.

It's a brewery so let's start there, the beers are nice and they have a good variety of ales, sours, a stout and a lager. A nice wheat beer would be good but that's a personal preference. They were also out of some beers but I guess they are popular and it's tourist season. I would give the beer 4*.

Next is the food, the food is generic pub food burger, nachos, fish and chips etc. Its not bad but I won't be thinking of the meal once I'm gone. 2.5* for the food.

Lastly is the service, this place is criminally under staffed and as a result absolutely everything takes way too long. 15-20mins for a beer after waiting 10mins to order it is just way too long and I was right on the brink of getting up and leaving.
When youre waiting that long for a beer and servers are cashing tabs, collecting glasses and clearing individual items from tables it is very frustrating. The servers themselves are nice bit there should be more of them and there are no signs of anyone in charge there. Where are the owners or managers guiding these servers who are trying to do way too much at one time. This place needs hire more servers and someone who knows what they are doing to guide them. I easily left 4 beers not ordered and a desert due to just not being able to order as it'll takes so long.

Seafood bake was amazing, fish and chips excellent, beer very very good and the service was great, very good atmosphere. I recommend this place highly.

Gave it a one but it could have been a zero if the Manager had not come over in the end to apologize and the beer was good. Waitress was the worst I have ever encountered. Waited at least 30 mins to get drinks which we had to finally ask for again. Appetizer never came with no apology but stated I will take it off your bill (Really!) Chicken burger was burnt and waitress stated I will tell the kitchen. No offer to replace and her comment was well you ate it, what do you want me to do? In the end as we were paying she rudely announced, I don’t know what you want from me, I did my best to serve you! Well, your best was terrible!

We wanted to order nachos and our server told us that we would be disappointed-I appreciated this but nachos are a pretty easy thing to make, but we took her advice and didn’t have food.
We counted 8 staff members standing around the bar, unsure if they were training but it didn’t look good when we were waiting quite a while for our bill.
We had a Route 19 growler which they wouldn’t fill and said that it was because of COVID but we did have growlers filled there last fall during the pandemic.
I would like to give more stars as it’s a nice room, great view and I like the beer.

Bel endroit! Nous y sommes allés vers 18h un jeudi de mai et le restaurant était vide. Ambiance plus ou moins intéressante considérant que nous étions une dizaine dans un endroit pouvant accueillir environ 150 personnes.
Il n'y avait plus de IPA et Double IPA, les deux seules bières qui nous intéressaient.
Nous avons donc pris la Pale Ale qui était ordinaire.
Le service était correcte, sans plus.

L'endroit a du potentiel, mais il y a encore du travail à faire. Et de la bière à brasser!

Great meal and atmosphere! Service was a tad slow for the amount of tables being served but overall a enjoyable time!

Double IPA (sea ice) recommended! IPA is good too!
Loved the haddock tacos - a bit spicy but hits the spot!
Pizza dough is made fresh so the pizzas are tasty too! Ate the arabiatta one - a bit sweet on the pallette.
Warm shrimp salad - shrimps were amazing! The salad itself super sweet with the pineapple and mangoes in there!

Ambience is really nice too - upper section open ONLY during weekends.

Beer is around 8-9 bucks for 16oz.
Food average is 13-14 bucks per dish.

The food was satisfactory, nothing to write home about.

The beer tasted fine, but they were all out of the one we wished to try the most. It was pretty generic and nothing you can't get from many other craft breweries.

Now we get to the service. Oh boy. The service here was perhaps the worst I have experienced in recent memory. Our group of 6 was apparently neglected as we watched smaller groups that arrived hilariously long after us receiving their drinks, food and even water long before we did. Once our beer orders finally did arrive after around 35 minutes, they were all placed at one end of the table so that we had to shuffle them around ourselves. They only gave us 4 waters (which we got after our beers) so we had to go ask for two more. We never once heard from our waitress until we had been done our meals for 20 minutes. Our waitress forgot who ordered what and who was combining bills, and incorrectly printed our them so we had to all run through what we had ordered. Quite unprofessional and tone deaf to say the least. We would have been willing to accept these things, however the place wasn't even half full and there was no self awareness or apology on the part of the staff about the piss poor service that we we're given.

This place likely exists simply to cash in on the neighboring golf course, without offering anything unique or memorable other than it's location. The food and drink seemed to be an afterthought to the cash flow from well-off thirsty golfers. I anxiously await the generic non-answer response from the management to this review!

I think its a very nice place to eat with beautiful surroundings and a great staff. My favorite beer is "The Nineteenth Hole" the light pale ale. Looking forward to having another evening of entertainment like the one we experienced with Keith Mullins. He was awesome.

Food was really good, lots of staff on hand, looks like many are still learning the ropes, but considering its the 2nd day open, the service was really good. Tried the IPA which was pretty good, but I'm not much of beer drinker.
