Had the Haddock topped with lobster. It was Awesome! Service was great. We arrived around 5pm and were seated in a booth right away. Loved it!

Absolutely delicious seafood. Cajun mussels were great, lobster mac and cheese was amazing! Great atmosphere too

We were given a booth way in a corner that smelled moldy and not clean at all!

The food, oh the food I would never take anyone I know or recommend it to anyone I know or don’t know!

We order the calamari for appetizers!
My 4 year old’s favourite and she gave it a 2 out of 10, and she was being nicer than me! LoL. They didn’t hold the batter and were really undercooked that it was like eating a gum!

I ordered the garlic butter shrimp and it had nothing to do with Garlic or Butter completely tasteless and they are frozen shrimp and frozen French Fries!
The shrimp were so over cooked that they were tiny and shrivelled!
What a waste of almost $30

My little one got chicken nuggets and fries and she took one bit and side this is horrible and I assure you yes they were! They must have been in the freezer for so long that the artificial meat was dry and then it was over fried!

I guess I just expecting a little more being that it was packed with locals but I was really wrong about this one!

Please don’t waste your money unless your just going in for a beer!

We went on a rainy night, so we missed out on eating on the nice deck. It was a bit warm inside, but that could be because we were seated at a table kind of tucked into a corner. We shared a starter of potato skins, they were tasty! My husband tried two different beers, the brown had a nice chocolate finish. I don't normally like a dark beer, but this one was good. I tried the sampler and my favorite was the blond. My husband had the surf and turf, the carb was delicious, the steak was not over cooked, but closer to medium than rare, still very good. I had the seafood platter. The fries were fries, I chose battered shrimp and sautéed scallops, the batter was crispy on the shrimp and the scallops were divine! Our daughter had the battered fish and fries. She found the batter to be too thin and not crispy enough, and on tasting it, I found the fish to be a bit dry.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Waited 1.5 hours for the food to arrive, and two meals didn’t even get to the table. Plates came out very slowly. Steak over cooked and MEH crab! $66 and it felt like robbery!

Quality of food went way down from what it was some years ago.
Lemon baked haddock was greasy and very thin and where was the lemon? Sweet pitato fries were limp and the curry dip was just meh. Ceasar salad had little flavour. Scallops were good.
Service slow but nice.

Large portion of steamed mussels in wine sauce and large haddock fillet were excellent along with the service. Will return when in town.

Great food. The night we went there was a band going to play. We asked if we could sit where we could hear. We were told sure but we would have to leave in 45 min.and the whole place was pre-booked.

So I would suggest reservations. That way it doesn't happen that you need to rush if a band is going to play.

We chose to leave and go where we could take our time.

Was Favorite spot when in Yarmouth. NOT dog friendly even on deck while NS travel say that more and more dog friendly places are available. The deck is accessed via indoor or outdoor stair and gate so no excuse. Likely not to visit as often. This was a BIG disappointment given we always head to Rudders. Hot weather, dog is not in the car while we spend our money Shame on them.

Lobster rolls were too creamy and clams were too breaded.
That said, service was amazing so I would come back.

I've been to Rudder's a few times for a quick beer and appetizers, and always enjoyed it. Earlier today I went for a meal and it was quite disappointing. I had the fish and chips, my friend had scallops and clams. The fish was bland and mushy. Seemed almost undercooked. My friend said the clams were not fresh. I tried one and it was unpleasant. The beer was flat. Maybe near the end of a keg, although my friend had a different variety and he agreed, it wasn't fresh.

We did split a plate of calamari which was decent, the Thai dipping sauce was good. The fries were good, service was decent. I'd like to think our experience wasn't the norm, but I'll be eating somewhere else next time I vist Yarmouth. I don't think it's too much to expect decent seafood when there are fishing boats everywhere in sight.

Friendly staff and great food. Lovely old restaurant along the dock. I had the fish cakes with salad, and my wife had the clams & chips.

We had to eat here twice because nothing was open in downtown Yarmouth in the evening.

The first night, our server started great with us, but after our first encounter, almost literally abandoned us. The second evening was better, but at best only "fine. "

Food was good both nights. Priced decently, I thought, food and beer both, which is weird because when we were asking locals where we could do at, like, 6pm, they called it a tourist trap. It is, I guess, but not an over-the-top cash grab from people who have no where else to dine.

Patio was fine, but man, those mosquitos.

Wunderschönes Lokal zum essen und/oder trinken. Das personal ist super freundlich und auch schnell. Besonders gut sind alle Fisch Gerichte, diese sind frisch und die Portions-Größe ist sehr gut. Auch die Desserts wechseln regelmäßig und sind sehr zu empfehlen. Die Bierauswahl ist sehr umfangreich und lädt zum probieren ein.
Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.
An bestimmten Tagen gibt es Abends auch Live Musik.

Awesome good. Was a bit busy so we had to wait a few minutes - not too long. Would definitely recommend a reservation for next time around - especially on the weekend. Very reasonable prices! Great seafood menu - also lots of items for folks who are not the biggest seafood fans.

I have never visited this establishment and will not. I am vaccinated, however, I do not support segregation based on inoculation status. This business however supports medical status segregation so because of this I will never experience their food and I encourage others not to. They claim that the government are the ones mandating that they discriminate based on innoculation status but they along with other businesses have the power to say no and are not willing to push back. This business and any association that supports these measures are complicit in acting against a significant portion of society and the bottom line is money is more important to this business than your freedom to dine in with them. They will gladly sell you take out because they do want your money, they just won't let you sit at a table because the government has told them to discriminate. I will not support a business that discriminates because a government has told them to do so for any reason. Viola Desmond broke the law in 1946.70 years later her family was apologized by the government of the day, her photo was placed on the $10 bill but the theater in New Glasgow wiĺl always be remembered for removing a person of colour from her seat.

Had read excellent reviews but we didn't think the food was all that great. For a seafood restaurant, the seafood was so so!

Great little spot on the Yarmouth waterfront. Everything we had was tasty. Nice local beer brewed right on site! Prices were a little tourist-trappy but hey the patio was great so who's going to compete with them?

Had to wait for table so had a drink at the bar awesome service and drink. I had 2 seafood combo with mashed potatoes. Potato was nothing special very plain. I asked for pan fried scallops and fish they came with batter on that you would deep fry them in. Take batter off they were good. My child had oven baked fish and their special of the day cream of mushroom soup the cream of mushroom soup looked and tasted like no name soup out of a can undiluted. When we mentioned it to the waitress she said well that's our cream of mushroom soup and left it at that it was uneditable was not pleased. Will not be back to this restaurant again the fish was good but not that good not for the price we paid for what we paid it was over $50.

Food is ok, waitress was great,

but the girl at the bar making the drinks …. OMG!

she was not able make any different between Bloody Mary and bloody Cesar, and worse, arguing with us that tomato juice is with bloody Cesar!

EVERYTHING was amazing about this place. I ordered the sampler beers, which were all delicious and shareable. The tasty drinks complimented my Hot Lobster Sandwich extremely well. I found the meal really interesting, something I would never make at home, and absolutely delicious. It was a beautiful setting watching the fog roll in on the patio during sunset (albeit a bit cold so make sure to bring some jackets despite a hot day). The service was phenomenal, too, with live music. An absolutely magical place to visit to get a beautiful maritime experience!

Très bon restaurant, première visite serveur Tom, très attentionné, excellent service, nourriture succulente! Deuxième visite très déçu, mauvais service d'une femme qui ne connaissait pas son menu et manque d'attention au déroulement du souper! Assiettes de fruits de mer excellente! On recommande fortement le pub!

Great spot in Yarmouth to sit and enjoy yourself a good meal. I ate several times there in one weekend to sample many of the seafood dishes and these were great. The service was too notch too. A spot worth revisiting.

Patio dining overlooking Yarmouth Harbour. Great beer and some of the finest fish cakes in Nova Scotia. A must do whilst in Yarmouth.

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I forgot to take a picture because I was SO excited to dig in!

Get a reservation if you can it can be busy but not too long a wait. Food was excellent and a good price. The staff are hard working and friendly!

Ughh hate to say it but the hot lobster roll was the most disappointing meal. The watery cream was all over the plate and the bun was complete mush and soggy. The fries were drenched in the watery cream too and it just wasn’t visually appealing or that tasty. I would have sent it back except for the fact that I was starving. But will never order it again. Maybe a place that’s good for a beer or too?

Scallops were good, as was the beer. Fish was very lacking, the batter was very "pasty" feeling, Deep fried bar clams were very overdone and rubbery. The atmosphere was very nice and the server was top notch, and very knowledgeable as he was also the brewmaster.

They handle covid rules well. Server explained the new menu and food was fast and we'll made.

Nice Place. Great food and service. We'll be back in the 21 when we can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views.

Meal was great, atmosphere is classic and immersive. Staff went out of their way to interact with our 15 month old.
