Rudy & Olive's Fish and Chips

I'd offer this place as having the best clams and chips around. The clams were cooked perfectly.

The most delicious fish burger I ever had. It was light soft yum. Great fries and the best baked beans yummy. Thanks so much. Never tried her before but will be back!

We've been there many times, and again the food was fresh, hot and cooked fresh. Service was great, the usual sever was off, but the gentleman serving us did a great job. "We'll be back"!

Our friends and us enjoyed it as always. We like the fact that we can sit at a table outside during Summer months.

Came here to get claims didn’t want fries and wow you get a lot very good too. Usually go to johns but since they are closing needed to find a new spot and I think this place is it. Very happy with the portion size.

Couldn't decide what to get, so I chose the fisherman's platter. Fish is delicious, the batter on the clams is amazing, and the scallops are probably the best I've ever had! Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The workers are very polite, dine in area is clean and bright, lots of delicious menu items and reasonably priced! Will definitely be adding Rudy and Olives to our list of favorites!

Wow what an excellent time we had tonight! Service was incredibly fast, staff were incredibly friendly, not to mention pretty good little dancers (and singing along with us to the “oldies “) We all ordered fish, (of course!) and an order of fish tacos. Fantastic! The fish was so fresh, the batter was light and crispy; not greasy at all and the fries were hand cut and way too much to finish. (Notice the doggy bag). The tartar sauce is also homemade and you’re given a squirt bottle to help yourself with along with the ketchup and malt and regular vinegar. It’s THAT good. They know it too! The fish tacos? Same fish, different presentation equally delicious! They’re served with a chipotle sauce that they should seriously consider bottling and selling as a take home along with their tartar. Sign me up! We all had a great night, but go as early as you can! Word has spread and waves of people were coming in, in groups of 15-20 and then waiting in the parking lot for their food for take out. (Worth the wait) Picnic tables are also around the side for extra seating. Packed too. Drinks are cold, food was hot and fresh and the price was jaw dropping for the volume and quality we all had. Go, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you ladies! We didn’t stop smiling all night!

Arguably the best fish and chips you'll find in the HRM. The fish is always so fresh and delicious, never fails. Also, they're homemade tartar sauce is by far the best out there. They'll give you a large bottle at the table for all us tartar lovers out there so you can have as much as you want. Highly recommend

Excellent friendly service and excellent fish and chips and fish tacos. These guys know what they are doing, perfect batter and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!

We keep coming back! Brought my mom here on her first visit from Vancouver (we bring all of our visitors, it's non-negotiable), and my opinion Rudy & Olives is still as it has been since opening day. We try other places only to be reaffirmed in our preference that Rudy & Olives takes first place every time! You can't get any more fresh than same day catch n eat. The staff here are always very friendly and pleasant in demeanor. The prices for the portions and quality can not be beat! The outdoor seating is my favorite. However, the interior is immaculate and inviting as well. Thank you again, Rochelle and team, for staying consistently amazing!

Walked down to this restaurant today and was not disappointed! We ordered only the fish and poutine along with a couple of drinks. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. The poutine was perfect with crispy fries topped with gravy and cheese curds that slowly melted with the heat. The fish was perfectly cooked - batter was crisp, well seasoned and not oily at all. Best of all, it didn’t even need any condiment owing to the flavours and the fish was fresh and flaky! Definitely looking forward to our next visit

Edit: I have moved my rating from 5 to 3 stars. After a great start when I originally reviewed, the past few times we have ordered the food was disappointing. I don't know what has changed, but the fries were just not cooked well - and I can't pinpoint if it was the oil or was overcooked. We kept trying thinking it was a one off, but the chicken was also dry each time. The fish was still okay, but that isn't enough for the price we pay as a family to eat out.

Ordered for the first time today. It was a bit busy so I'm glad we ordered ahead. The food was fantastic. I wish I had taken a photo, but we dug in quickly. Easily a place we would come back to again. The fries were especially good.

Had a great meal with my family in the dog room. It was one of my better dinning experiences of my life. Price was good food was amazing. I am definitely going back!

Wife and stopped in to get a quick lunch to go.was delicious.best fish and chips I’ve ever had.we destroyed our meals in the car like Vikings our new favourite spot when we visit from Ottawa.

One of the best, if not the best fish & chips in the HRM. Excellent batter and the hand cut fries make all the difference.

So happy we finally got to try this place! Called to place order for takeout and was ready in 5 mins! Our new spot for fish and chips and the best tartar sauce and coleslaw around by far! Super friendly and welcoming and can’t wait to try more menu items soon

They seem friendly but we could not figure out why they had such a high rating. The food was very mediocre and expensive. Fish was just mediocre taste but tough to chew. The gravy is way way too salty. The fries were just ok as well. Still tipped because of friendly service. But was disappointed and we will not be back.

One of the Best Fish and Chips restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of being in. Service was amazing.thank you so much for helping me yesterday to treat the couple that I invited to come with me.
I was not able to taste, but as soon as this cancer treatment is over. I will be back with bells on and will bring people when I come.
The couple I had with me loved every bit and bite of it.
