Rum Runner Inn

Our booking was made through a third party site, on arrival there was a slight mix up, but the owner Tim was on top of sorting it out and getting us squared away in the proper room. With unseasonably warm weather, we opted for a room with a balcony and were lucky to have an amazing view of the harbour. The hotel is centrally located, easy walk to so many restaurants and of course the Waterfront. Parking available on the street, no issue for us being low season, might not be as easy a find in peak season. No issues with the room, bed was the comfortable and bathroom was adequate. We'd definitely consider staying here again and recommend a balcony suite if staying here.

My parents decided to treat themselves to a much delayed honeymoon in Halifax and were so excited. They are also from the midwest and did not think to consider hurricanes as a possibility while in Halifax. Long story short, Fiona came through and their Airbnb's were canceled on them, they had no power, and no idea where to go. I reached out to Alice and she had a room booked for them in minutes. My mom has said the service was wonderful and being able to get a room here saved their trip. Highly highly recommend!

2.5 stars rounded down to 2. This was in an *amazing* location to explore Lunenberg from and the view from our waterfront room was GLORIOUS. Other than that though, we were disappointed considering the price we paid. The room and bathroom itself felt really dated, the carpet/sheets/towels felt old and cheap, the furniture looked like it could have been picked out at a thrift store, and the bathroom sink had an old stain in it. The closed in porch had potential to be cool (with that VIEW!), but we could hear every word from our neighbors and they could every word of ours and it didn't feel super comfortable sitting out there with such an extreme lack of privacy. The staff were nonexistent. Most of our visit (two nights), there was just an old torn note with a phone number on it. When there was a girl there, it was hard to even get a 'good morning' out of her. And to be perfectly frank, she always looked casual to the point of sloppy and did not have an air of professionalism or hospitality at all. She was definitely not a chatty host who seemed interested in town recos like some of these other reviews have mentioned.

The hospitality was above and beyond, made the trip one of a kind for us and wish we could go back to this amazing town again. The room was clean with eliminated mirror really was a good detail that was added. Outstanding staff was the major point though, best advise to go around in the area. Free ice was also provided to take on road trip. Some places the host introduced and we found great too: Number 9 bakery, La Have ferry was a great experience and was free, La Have bakery was awesome, had my best chicken panini there!

Beautiful inn! Stunning views from the balcony. Excellent location and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!

I had to Business Travel during Covid-19 and I appreciated the precautions taken, clean room, helpful staff and effortless stay. Made a concern go away and will be back for sure. Thanks. Peter Stein
