Absolute poor excuse of a vet. NO compassion, and some of the worst customer service my family has ever received. If 0 stars was an option I would be clicking it.
We have to put our lab down today of almost 12 years, it’s sadly been time for the last while, she’s been having good and bad days and finally the day has come today.to the man at st marys who shamed my mother who cancelled first thing on Monday trying to follow your 24 hour cancellation policy (take note they’re closed most of the weekend so getting ahold of them wasn’t an option before Monday morning) and when she tried to rebook today you went off on her and lectured her on your 24 cancellation policy and how another client could have used her appointment slot. SHAME on you.
I am surprised your business has lasted this long in Windsor with all the hateful stories that come out of your clinic. Ours isn’t even the tip of the iceberg. If you’re looking for an awesome vet please go to Cornwallis or Avon where they have compassion when you are saying goodbye to your loving pet.

They show that they care for your animals. Great people, explain things well and understand you and your animals.

I love being able to rely on this vet office to look after my pets. They were fantastic with my dog for well over a decade, and when her last day came they arranged the privacy and serenity of a final house visit. I can't say enough for their quiet support and understanding. Although their office sometimes feels chaotic with all the pet owners who need their services, Rita, John, and staff are always kind and welcoming.

If you would like your furbabies to live a long happy life, please DO NOT take your animals here.
I have never had any issues with my kitty until I took her here. Went and got her fixed and she passed two days later. Call Jon the night it happened and his response to seeing her was “oh” then wanted us to send her to the university to spend more money to see what happened. I know what happened, he messed something up. Time to take ownership of what happened here.

Had concerns about her ears and she was given drops that did nothing, after paying almost $200 after a visit you would think we would have seen progress.

Vet is very unsanitary, vet rooms are not clean.

I will never have another one of my pets in their presence.

I can say, that Saint Mary vet's and owners, are the most caring people I've ever taken our beloved pets too.
They have done more for our fur babies, including literally saving one of them twice!
I wish I could give a 100 star.

New to town needing a vet, called about pricing, and availability. They were great! Super friendly and informative. Looking forward to dealing with them.

Saint Mary's has been our vet of choice for years. They have sold us flea meds and wormer and the usual stuff. But they have also come in, at night, on a long weekend, performing emergency surgery to save my dog's life. They have fit us in several times for same day appointments when one of our critters got sick really fast. They take our phone calls for advice to make the best decisions for our crew. But beyond that, I believe they actually care about what they are doing and who they are doing it for. They show huge compassion for our critters when they were hurt, sick, or scared. They have also shown huge compassion for our human family members who were upset and scared for a sick or hurt pet. Vets cost money, but it pays to have a vet who knows exactly who you are and who your calling about. All I have to do is say Hi, it's Rachel, Finn's mom and they know my whole crew, both the two legged and four legged. We are very grateful to have such a resource, especially in emergent situations.

First appointment, pitbull/husky mix. Scared and loud. The vet showed no fear and quietly tried to calm this pup. She deserves an award of bravery. All shots given and treats provided. Great service, reasonable prices.

Saint marys has been our vet for about 4 years now.we recently had some health issues with our boy and sadly ended up having to put him to rest. They were so helpful during the whole ordeal, taking calls late at night after hours, taking us in asap no questions asked. I'd call that morning, and they would say bring him in with no hesitation. They went above and beyond for us, I have only kind words to say about then.

I just visited this veterinarian for the first time last week. Very reasonable prices. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place!

I called in to arrange a new Vet for my two babies, (dogs) and a man answered with “ hello, St Mary’s Animal Hospital, could you please hold”, but before I could respond I was put on hold. No exaggeration, it was 6 min, 30 sec.wait. I explained that I was looking for a new Vet and that I would like to speak to who’s in charge. He said “I’m in charge “. I was surprised and said, you’re in charge and you are answering the phone? He said yes. I paused and tried to explain that if he was the Vet in charge, and he had to answer the phone that maybe they were too busy for new clients, and then he hung up on me. I can’t imagine a world where this same person who treated me this way could care about someone else’s beloved pet. Go here if you want to but understand it’s only about the money. Just my humble opinion.

I started taking my senior dog here last year and I am so glad I did. She has had some health issues with her eyes, leptospirosis and cancer lumps. They have helped her so much! I will continue to trust this doctor with my precious girl ️

The best service ive ever had! Very friendly and got my poor dog in same day I called and explained what his issues were without complaining they didnt have time or werent taking new patients! They are the very best and I will never go to any other vet ever!

These people are absolutely incredible, and go above and beyond to help their patients. Our 3 month old dog grabbed a packet of pool chemicals out of my hand, and got some into his mouth. Within minutes, we were speaking with staff, and had a recommendation from the doctor immediately. Understanding that we’re half an hour away, he walked us through in detail how to flush the chemicals, and talked us through a mixture we could make at home to help begin the healing process. Not only that, he called shortly after to provide his cell phone number, and asked us to please send him pictures, videos, and updates regularly. He kept in constant communication with us the whole time. To take this even further - he’s only met our dog once. We became patients for the first time, after just moving into the area, for his most recent shots. He’s only barely met us and our pet, and his dedication to us far exceeds that of any other vet we’ve ever worked with. We can’t recommend him enough.

Horrible horrible animal hospital. Will never recommend them to anyone.
Had an emergency situation with my 6 week old kitten, he was getting sick, and we almost lost him. Talked to the vet on the phone and he tried to tell me that my cat ate cannabis or got into open liquor, and that it was possible we had poisoned him! We are non smokers and do not drink in this house. Said he wouldn't even treat our baby until I gave him $185 to even get through the door! Started asking personal questions like names and ages of the people living here.absolutely disrespectful. They should be ashamed of themselves.
On a brighter note, it turns out our kitty just had low blood sugar, and because we rescued him before 8 weeks, he was still very dependent on mothers milk. 1 week of syringe feeding milk replacer and sugar water and he is now healthier than ever.
St. Mary's this was not a shining moment for you, and I will not soon forget your LACK of hospitality. And as you can see in thier comment below, My being angry about them asking me if I smoked Marijuana and leaving out open alcohol and asking personal questions.they apparently think they have the right to assume "what kind of person i am". This place is a laugh.

Wonderful staff. Kind. Caring. They were great when I had to put my old dog down last weekend. I also have had my dog neutered here years ago and they were also great then. I drive all the way from Kentville to go here.

My cat and I had a lovely experience. Very friendly and professional. My cat hates going in any vehicle, but once we were there, he felt comfortable & made himself at home. Would recommend Saint Mary to anyone.

I've been with them for 5 or 6 years now and I wouldn't trade them for anyone else, very kind, caring, compassionate and they know their stuff, I've taken my cats and bunnies there and I will always take them there, thank you for all you do for our fur babies

Took my dog there and had to have surgery for stones. I asked for all of the bill be done at once so I would have only one bill she even added the food as I asked her and then she asked if I wanted her spayed I said sure. The bill was already mad out and total was on the sheet she then proceeded to pencil in spay amount and HST.bill before spay HST included was 1,121.39 add 217 for spay and 31.55 this is what she penciled in which should have been 1,370 and some change then penciled in under total this visit 1,571.04. I ended up paying another 100 plus dollars for the unforeseen problems. I did not get a call saying it would cost any more and couldn't say if the procedure had worked he said just pray for the best. I payed the 1571 2 hours before surgery.so in saying that I wanted to discuss with the lady and go over the bill because you see 1,370 the bill and 1,571.04 is a 200 dollar difference.so if it were an estimate and I needed to pay more I should have been notified correct but I didn't so what I had payed was ok.but the math did not add up the accountant spotted the mistake, so maybe a civil suit in the making. Not only because of the 200 dollars but the way I was treated while trying to explain the mathematical error. An as far as I am concerned if you are talking to me about an issue and turn to you spouse and speak in your language that is so rude you may think we are stupid but guess what we are not we know you are talking about uok my bill does not add up do you get that there was a 200 dollar difference in what I had to pay, just get that through your head that this was before surgery you see 1,121.39 plus 217 for spay and 3155 for taxes comes to 1,370 dollars s.so why does it say 1571 that was penciled in really you cant see that.do the math yourself and you will see if 1370 was the estimate why did the bill say 1571 it was a calculated error add it please or do you always add 200 dollars charge 200 dollars without letting them know to everyone o, many people had told me not to go there but I did boy oh boy what a mistake 2, If I dont hear from you soon a letter will be written to the BBB, the mayor and well you get my drift.and by the way I contacted the police they called me and they saw the bill and yes you did over charge by 200 he said it was a mathematical error on their behalf and told me to it will be a civil matter, again it's not the money at this point it's the rude, ignorant and poor ethics that you shown. The staff of St. Mary's are wonderful, caring and kind. Always willing to go the extra mile. My little guy Teddy wouldn't be here today without them.

Rita and John are two amazing people. We have been taking our two dogs to them for years and we could not imagine taking them anywhere else. They are masters of their craft and you can tell that they love animals. They know both dogs by name and we always feel satisfied knowing our dogs are in excellent hands.

These are the most kind and caring vets in the Annapolis Valley. They truly are in it for the animals.

Great care and service, our Charlie loves Dr. John and Dr. Rita, never had a problem getting him to go in to see them!

This place is horrible, the owners have no idea what they are doing. They have no compassion and just care about money. Stay away from this place if you love your pets.

Our experience at St. Mary’s Animal hospital was nothing but exceptional. We saw Dr. Sawires for a teeth cleaning for our dog and couldn’t be happier with the results and the service. This was our first time having Benji’s teeth cleaned and didn’t know what to expect, Dr. Sawires takes the time to explain in detail what to expect before during and after the procedure. Benji can be a little timid however from the minute Dr. Sawires started examining him he appeared at ease and coooperative which speaks volumes on his empathy and ability to connect with animals. Dr. Sawires did an amazing job on Benji’s teeth and the best part about this clinic is the price is 50% less than any quote we received in Halifax. St. Mary’s Animal Hospital in Windsor is well worth the drive both for the quality and value you will receive there.thank you again Dr. Sawires.

I think that our dog Micah's reaction speaks volumes about St Mary Animal Hospital. He is absolutely excited when we pull into the parking lot and can't wait to get in. Never had this experience at any other Vets with any dog. The two vets are very gracious, pleasant, knowledgeable and caring. Costs are always reasonable. We have no hesitation in giving our unqualified recommendation to Saint Mary' vets. It's always a pleasure to visit.

I took my 6mo.old kitty here to be neutered and I would highly recommend Saint Mary’s Vet. Dr. John was professional and knowledgeable making me feel at ease before the surgery. Our kitty was a little loopy afterwards (as expected) but he recovered quickly and bounced back to his true self the next day. Great prices, I will definitely be going back! Thank you!

I have been visiting St Mary’s Animal Hospital for several years for care of my dog and 2 cats.
I could not ask for a better experience for both myself and my pets. The owners are kind and care very much about the animals they treat They consider the feelings of not only my furry family but myself as well. I strongly recommend St Mary’s to anyone who is looking for a warm, caring vet for their pets.

I first started going there shortly after they opened. Due to a mistake from a different vet, my pug got an overdose of the rabies vaccine. Both John and Rita worked together and saved my dog's life! I trust them completely with all of my pets. It's so nice to be a name and not a number.

I brought my mothers cat to the St Mary's Animal Hospital as she was extremely sick. I must say that when I was told that Freckles may not survive I was devastated. I advised my mother and we made "plans". Freckles had to stay at the hospital and on the second day, she started to improve by the evening she was ready to come home. I don't know what they did but they saved her life. Freckles will always have her problems but we know know what to feed her and what signs to look for. Thanks to St. Mary's Animal Hospital my Moms beautiful Freckles gets to enjoy her life, again.

Wonderful animal hospital. I have taken many cats there over the years, and they can always fit you in and treat your own pets like their own. Prices are great and the vets are awesome!

John and Rita are very caring vets who take the time you need and never turns you away. You can tell they really love what they do and they make you feel welcome with a warm smile. They never rush you, and are always a phone call away with helpful advice. Both their hours and prices are excellent and honestly, they’ve spoiled our large fur family with their loving care.
