Did not stay here but ate here. Location excellent and view from the rear deck (where seated) over the port wonderful spot. Great service, food, and friendly staff.

We went to Salt Shaker for dinner and received a very friendly welcome and had an excellent meal! A cozy restaurant, very centrally located and with a beautiful view. Definitely worth a visit!

Enjoyed the food and the ambience! I had the lobster roll, which was delicious to me, someone who does not typically like seafood! My husband had the pizza, and he said it rivaled the ones in NYC. Berry crumble for dinner was delicious and fresh. Fantastic meal

Excellent service. Great food and a very nice view of the downtown. We got the green curry mussels and fish cakes. Mussels were amazing. Super cool spot in Lunenburg.

This is a good restaurant!
1. Pretty delicious, the overall taste is 8.5 of 10.2. Portions size is ideal and price is not bad.
3. All kitchen staff and cooks have no chef’s hat. It seems to be not professional and it is obviously against hygiene.

This place could be a great option for you.

The best meal we have had in many years. We loved the Salad Nicoise and the Scallop Linguini. Fabolous.

Mussels with sausage and jalapeno EXCELLENT and the best Lobster Roll in a month on the coast. Subtle tarragon mayonnaise complimented and enhanced the lobster rather than overwhelming it. Really nice vibe.

We were there today and since we’re off season we walked in easily. We had freshly brewed iced tea which comes with simple syrup to sweeten it. Fantastic. The lobster roll with apple beet soup was worth the drive! My hubby had the tomato Parmesan soup and loved that. Service was attentive and very friendly. We will definitely be back!

Great service and view. The food was nothing special. We tried the mussels, chowder and lobster roll.

The food is a bit over rated here. We had chicken pate, shrimp taco, fish cake and lobster rolls. The fish cake had lot of mashed potato and not enough fish. It was more potato cake than fish cake. The tacos were dry and had no flavor. The sauce was particularly bad. The chicken pate was also bland. Lobsters were OK.not anywhere good as the one I had in halifax.
We were very much looking forward to the atlantic eating experience, But were disappointed.
Overall not a great dining exp.

This place was SO cute! We stayed at the inn, in the waterfront split level king room, definitely one of the coolest rooms I've ever stayed in. The bed was comfy, the kitchenette had pretty much everything we needed, and the jacuzzi tub was lovely. Great location, easy check-in, would definitely stay again!

Arrived right at 11 am and the place packed up very quickly. Had the shrimp tacos and the lobster roll. Great food.

Wonderful spot! Menu has excellent variety, including vegetarian options. Seafood chowder was excellent, and the lobster roll was very good too.

Definitely the best seafood pizza I've eaten in my life. Absolutely good. The service was slow however, it seems this place is a bit too popular for the number of employees there. I'd recommend going either at 5 or 8 pm, there is a waitlist in peak hours.

Everyone told us to eat here, I don't know why. The pizza was great, we went there for seafood. The seafood stew was tasteless, mussels weren't great either. And you can't order fish! In Lunenberg!

We were recommended to the Salt Shaker by our hosts from the Lighthouse Lanes Cottage. What a find! I am celiac and struggle to find options when we travel. This was an amazing find. My friend and I both had the crab cakes with a Caesar salad. My friend had never had them before and now says she can’t eat them anywhere else because they could never live up to these. I agree completely. Our husbands both had the special which was 1/2 a lobster roll with a bowl of seafood chowder. Both of them loved their meals too. They had a great selection of beer on tap. I recommend highly! If you’re headed to Lunenburg check them out early and leave your name if you can’t get in right away it is worth every second of the wait.

We got there around lunch. It was line up in a every restaurant. These guys sit us right away at first in the front but I asked them if we can move to the back and the owner moved us as soon as space was available. The food was great and service was really good too but it took 40 to 50 min before we even get our appetizers. Just don’t go in if you are starving or order right away. We don’t drink alcohol and this place had really good non alcoholic beer which I really appreciate that. I think more restaurants should accommodate this. Now a days there are tons of good product out there.

This place was bumping & for very good reason! I was traveling with my family from Pittsburgh to Nova Scotia & happened upon this true gem overlooking the water.

The atmosphere is chill & welcoming & makes you feel like you're in a true boating town. The wait staff was incredibly helpful, upbeat, & attentive!

The food was AMAZING! Everything was fresh & tasted true "chef's kiss! " There was not one thing we didn't like. We had smoked salmon, lobster rolls, club sandwich, & seasonal desserts!

The food was shockingly bad. The worst grilled cheese I've ever had. It was shocking that they would send that out. There was hardly any cheese in it and the focaccia bread was completly wrong for a grilled cheese. It was very oily and hard. I justncant believe they served that. Shocking

We had great seating inside in a little room off to the side, there was one other table in the room with people sitting at it. The staff was very friendly and had a list of specials and recommendations. We had a house made iced tea where they bring the simple syrup so you can sweeten it to your own licking, a bourbon lemonade, a bacon burger and the daily special which was a seafood chowder and half a lobster roll. The lobster roll was delicious. The seafood chowder had little tiny shrimps but the scallops were HUGE. We both really enjoyed our meal and would return again.

I visited Salt Shaker Deli Inn for lunch while traveling to Lunenburg. The staff were friendly and nice, recommending what to eat as a person who went there for the first time. I had a lobster roll and a glass of beer, which were very good and satisfying. It’s one of the must-visit spots in Lunenburg if you look forward to having good, fresh food either for lunch or dinner.

My husband and I just had a nice stay there this past weekend. The room was lovely! Great big corner tub was awesome and the bed was super comfortable! Loved the crisp white sheets! We had dinner at the resturant and it was really tasty! We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the great service! Definitely will be returning and recommending to family and friends. Thank you!

Ordered the scallop linguine as takeout. Despite it being takeout, they do not skimp on the quality or quantity. Large scallops cooked perfected (not overcooked). The pasta was done al dente and perfect too. Lots of cheese and bacon to round it off. Recommended by many who have been to Lunenburg, and I recommend too!

My boyfriend and I came to the restaurant here quite often while we stayed in Mahone Bay. We loved everything from the delicious food to the friendly staff. The garlic bread left us wanting more every time and the pizzas were amazing. Thank you for the wonderful meals!

Salt Shaker continues to be a solid choice through and through. Their sauce selection for their mussels is bar none and their pizza and sandwiches are so good it's hard to decide what to get. The Italian meats sandwich is great it reminds me of Saturday lunch growing up with my Italian grandparents. The tomatoes garlic soup topped with Parmesan was delicious as well. I have yet to have a bad experience at Salt Shaker yet.

Though theres almost always a wait to get in. It's usually always quicker than they expect which is awesome. Highly recommended 10/10 would tell a friend.

Really enjoyed the fish tacos and lobster roll here for lunch. Patio was really nice and the staff was friendly and were very helpful in accomodating our infant and large stroller in a small space.

Not an essential stop in lunenburg. While the ambiance from the deck is lovely the food is just so so, the muscles we ordered were miniature and shouldn’t have been served at all, and the fish cakes were incredibly salty, but it is called the salt shaker, so i guess you should expect it! It’s fine. Don’t line up for it, you’ll be disappointed.

The cold Lobster roll is a disappointment. Bun is dry/tough and the lobster filling is bland. At least the meat is chunky and meaty enough. Wish at least the bun can be toasted warm.

We have tried seafood chowder and PEI mussels! Interesting thing, we were in Lunenburg at rainy day and there was nobody at the streets. The only place we saw people was the Salt Shaker

Got seated immediately and got our order through within minutes. I ordered the Basil Pesto Chicken Pizza with a Whiskey Lemonade, my brother ordered the Prosciutto Pear Pizza and we got a Crab Dip to share. The Crab Dip and my drink came out within 7 mins. The pizzas came out 10 mins after that. All the food tasted great and the drink wasn’t too strong or too weak, it was perfect. Super fast service and the waitress was really friendly. Great food and ambience. The seafood pizza & the salmon risotto were tasty. Took out a star cause the risotto was the chef's own invention with white rice and peas. Chef should have stuck to the traditional recipe.

Prices are on the higher side but reasonable, and service is friendly. They are extremely busy so be prepared to line up or call to make reservations.

Just an average meal- disappointing: (

There are lots of places to eat, so when you choose one with average food, it’s really disappointing. In this case, the morning fish delivery hadn’t arrived, so no fish and chips for me. I settled for the chowder, which was mostly cream and not much else. Lacking any flavour to speak of, I really chose poorly. The crab cakes weren’t much better. Service was just ok.

Now, if you do plan to go there, arrive by 11: 30. After that, you’ll be in a long line. We got there at 11: 15 and it was empty. Half an hour later and it was all full up.

Situated in Historic Lunenburg, this place has amazing food and service to match. My dad and I enjoyed the Seafood Chowder, and my wife had the Portuguese Mussels. The portions were abundant and the setting was safe. We were invited to sit in a front window alcove that made service in a busy restaurant feel like an intimate setting. Well done, Salt Shaker. We shall be back.

So awesome we went back twice! Very busy spot. Patio overlooks harbourfront which is beautiful. Our first time. I had the vodka lemonade and hubby had the dark and stormy. We ordered the Capricciosa pizza (meatlovers dream), Bahn Mi burger and lobster roll. Pizza was Incredible. We drizzled with both their garlic oil and chili oil plus added fresh crushed chilis (we like things spicy). Thin crust was amazing. Simply decadent. Pork Bahn Mi burger was very well flavoured and a nice change to your regular beef burger (very light and refreshing). Lobster roll was the most loaded one I have tried to date.and we live in the Lobster Capital of the World (figure that one out). Second time here (one day later) I had the chicken pad thai (amazing.nice tart flavors throughout) and hubby had their burger (so juicy and flavourful). Highly recommended. Goes without saying we will be back

Service was fine but food was sub par. Burger was misformed, dry and lacked any seasoning. Bun and garnishes were good quality. Aoli also lacked seasoning. Mussels were fantastic quality but the green curry was very bland.

I've had much better food here before, must have been an off day in the kitchen.

After reading the rave reviews for the Salt Shaker, I had higher expectations. Waited for almost an hour for a table which we took for a good sign. The restaurant had a good atmosphere, but the food was nothing special. We had a pizza and lobster roll. The pizza has a thin, cracker like crust which is more reminiscent of a flatbread. The lobster rolls' filling was average, but the ratio of bun to lobster felt off and the bun was dry. The potato wedges were superb though.

Very disappointing. The lobster roll does measure up to others in the area. The lobster was not fresh and drowned in mayonnaise and celery. The smoked salmon BLT also suffered from a strange sauce. Both the South African wine and Cape Breton brewed beer were undrinkable. We resorted to a California Chardonnay and a Corona. We paid for all 4 drinks.

Great Spot for lunch or dinner; love the pizza & local beer. Great sandwiches; delicious caesar salad. Have been a few times and each time was delicious. I recommend the mushroom pizza or el fresco pizza!

We loved everything about this place. The service was fantastic and the mushroom pizza and lobster rolls we ordered were fresh and yummy. They had a good beer and cocktail selection. They have partitions made from old windows that they move around so diners can be bubbled from others. Pretty creative. We will definitely be back next time we visit.

We had a beautiful 3 course meal and it was really amazing, the tea lighting at night made it feel romantic, reasonably priced and great service. Will be back again.

Well worth the visit to this place! Wonderful selection and service. We went for brunch but would go back for pizza! If you can, get a table on their back deck.great views of the waterfront! Very good wine and beer selection too.

What a cozy gem! Delicious food, well served and presented, fabulous selection, and very reasonably priced. Service was friendly, efficient, and fast. We'll definitely be back for more. Thank you to Michaela and Leah for the awesome service and to the kitchen staff for the amazing food!

Gentleman at door was extremely friendly and informative, got us seated as soon as a table was available. Good selection of craft beers and ciders as well as top picks for cocktails. Inside service was a little slow, would have ordered more drinks if waitress had been more present. Still an overall positive experience, the pizza menu looked so good it was hard to choose just one! Would definitely come back, but would try to snag a patio seat next time.

Got sat at the bar because all the tables were taken. Service was literally instant since the bartenders also took food orders. Excellent craft beer selection, perfect portion sizes and the best club sandwich I've ever had. My girlfriend loved the tomato soup and her generously portioned caesar salad with chicken. This would be one of the places I'd go back to first, should I return to Mahone Bay.

Had a take-out lobster roll today and it was a let down. No tail meat (very little lobster meat in fact), mostly lettuce, extremely bland.

My wife and I had dinner there recently. We were very disappointed. Her Fisherman's Stew was burnt and my Scallops were dry. Because neither of us wanted to ruin the evening for the other, we soldiered through our bad meals. We did mention it to the waitress at the end and she was very nice. Anyway, bad meal.
