Set up a rrsp and checking account. The checking account was fine but rrsp was never set up right. Went to branch several times to fix there screw-up. Customer service on he phone is horrid. No one speaks English way to hard to understand. Left voice-mail for manager Sandra never returned my calls. Then my card was shut of had to go to branch. Met this Sandra in person and she just lied to my face. Oh well got my 350 out of those useless people. Now with bmo so much better

I am new to Canada and had my account opened in this particular branch and was given credit card stating that there will not be any annual fee.but annual fee was added to the statement.when i called the customer service they said I had the fee as per the card policy, then i visited the branch and asked the same sales associate about the fee she said it would be refunded within 5 days it has been 2 weeks the lady is not responding to my mails and no money has been refunded.
The customer care takes almost 2 hrs to reach the required contact but everything is in vain.
As someone new to this country i feel cheated. They will literally lie to your face pathetic pathetic.

Card expired, Scotiabank never sent new one. Had to call and was told to go in but their hours are terrible and not open weekends so can't go in branch without taking time off work, which I'm not willing to do. Meanwhile I have absolutely no access to my bank account. Was finally told card will be sent in 3-5 business days So looking at another week being locked out of my account because of their inefficiency.

I found this particular branch in comparison to my original branch in Antigonish to be very rude, unhelpful, judgemental and at times very discriminatory. I recently was there and was treated very poorly and disrespectfully by a particular worker. He sent me away a number of times each time telling me what I brought back with the information they have particularly requested over the phone but upon arrival and meeting me in person changed their entire demeanor and treatment which I found to be very not only discouraging but very disturbing as well. I have been a long time customer/client for many many years with no problem and great service in Antigonish, NS only to find this particular branch to not only treat me as a new customer/client but I would even go further to say almost less then a Canadian citizen. I am not only hurt but just completely disgusted.

None of their staff are ever on the same page, constantly telling customers they can’t do something when they can. I asked specifically for someone to call me and got an e mail and a “someone will deal with you tomorrow” instead. Meanwhile my $2000 has been on hold for over a week for no reason. Customer service line never has any answers, genuinely confused why they even have one. Also unnecessarily difficult to get a hold of actual branches. I do not recommend Scotiabank at all. I’ve dealt with them for 7 years when I first opened a bank account and will be switching ASAP.
