This is the best place to relax. The staff will help you with anything you might need throughout you visit. Come on your own or with a group and you will not regret it!

Therapist smelt of cigarette smoke, which distracted from the experience.
She also kept looking at her phone during treatment.
Facial was poor standard, once of the worst I’ve had and it’s very expensive to have a poor treatment.

Manager didn’t care about the bad experience, and would not offer any compensation except ‘letting us go back again for full price’, which is insulting.

Let me start by saying I genuinely love this spa. And will continue to go over and over. I always leave happy and relaxed.
I do however think small changes could make a large impact. Waiting for the facial hut. The DIY facial is a fan fave. But waiting to get in can be painful. Literally.
People really shouldn’t take any long then 12-15 minutes. But they often do and during the winter months it is so so so cold to sit and wait. Heating lamps or something to make it more bearable would be amazing. So keep in mind you may freeze your toes off waiting if you really want that facial.
Food is always spectacular. But soup often sells out early which is a bummer. Because it’s amazing and would be so nice to have when you’re there in the evening.
All in all sensea is amazing. Just wish we didn’t have to freeze before getting into the facial hut!

I love this place. While I have visited the spa before, this was the first time booking a massage here. The entire process was seamless and I was able to stay after and enjoy the place and amenities!

We came for a bachelorette getaway. The main reason we came was for the hot tubs but the heater was broken the warm tubs were the same temperature as the air.we asked reception about this problem and were brushed off by the front desk. We were not told about the heaters being broken we found out for our selves and they were not warning arriving guests about this issue they heard about it from us asking after they already payed. We would have liked to make an informed decision for ourselves if it was worth paying to sit in unheated pools.we were able to enjoy some other amenities but If we were told by staff about the problems it wouldn’t have been an issue but it does feel like they were hiding the issue instead of just being upfront and honest.

I kicked off my first vacation in over two years with a day-long lounge-about at Sensea. I usually have a hard time chilling out, and this place helped me flip the switch. It's a perfect place to unwind. I went solo, brought a short book and a giant water bottle and came out feeling refreshed. It was a wonderful nervous system reset. I slept better that night than I had in weeks.

Me and my husband was there today had a massage with Emma and Amanda they were amazing, and used all the saunas and spas it was amazing… Highly recommended.

This was my first time going in the winter and I’m considering going again! The stars aligned bc the weather was perfect at 0° with no wind or breeze off the lake. For health reasons I can’t partake in the cold water options. The sauna, Hammam, hot water pools were perfect. This was my first time getting a massage there bc I was able to secure an appointment and it was exactly what I needed. Just before getting on the table I looked out and seen a deer casually roaming. Bliss! The massage was superb and I’ve been trying to book another since. Going in the summer is always nice, but don’t sleep on the winter day spa experience.

I didn’t get to try the facial spa/sauna this time, but I’m going back specifically for that before spring gets here.

Shockingly bad customer service. It's as if the place is run by spoiled children. There is no excuse for such an appallingly dysfunctional online booking system and then they have the audacity to demand a tip up front. A tip is EXTRA you pay to a server for outstanding service, not a given supplement to a business that likely underpays its staff.

Grow up. Do better.

Have gone multiple times, always feel super relaxed and rejuvenated when I leave. Recommand this place for everyone!

Went for the Valentine’s Day special event and LOVED it! The facilities are clean and comfortable to share with others without feeling too cramped. The pools and Nordic spa experience was so relaxing. We got supper with our ticket of soup and a charcuterie board that tasted so good and was so filling. The changing rooms also had everything you needed. Would recommend and definitely am looking to go again!

I attended for the first time this past weekend, had a great time, location is beautiful and very clean, the robes are cozy. I Can't wait to go again.

I adore this place, but the last couple times I’ve gone haven’t been as peaceful as I would have hoped. They need to be a bit more on top of the noise levels throughout as there have been several loud patrons who have spoiled what should be zen moments. As well, something MUST be done about the lack of simple and basic communication. It’s almost impossible to get a hold of this place on all levels of social media or on the phone!

Impossible to make a reservation. Only opening one month of bookings at a time, at random non publicly posted times, is absurd. You cannot plan ahead or make a future reservation. Update your booking system, it is abysmal.

Highly recommend, a beautiful and unique experience. It’s wonderful we have this spa in Nova Scotia.

This place is a hidden gem! Grounds are perfectly blended into the forest. Very clean, super friendly staff. So many things to do, you can't go wrong!

I’ve been to Sensea twice. The first visit was a month after it opened. Shortly after exiting the change room, my friend and I encountered a middle-aged woman who was stumbling. She was inebriated. It was early afternoon. We watched as she spilled wine in one of the hot pools. That was my first indication that this would not a typical spa experience. We shrugged it off. The spa was busy, and the crowded small spaces made us question the goal of spas, which is to relax and rejuvenate. It was tough to do that with boisterous clients who clearly were excited to be in this environment, but had no idea how to behave. Spa etiquette was not their forte.

Fast forward to this spring. After trying to book for months, my husband and I found a last-minute spot on a rainy afternoon. I won’t go into the excruciatingly onerous booking system. Many others have already done that. This second visit was worse than the first. Overcrowded, loud, and although Sensea now has SILENCE signs in several places, it’s tough to silence groups of young patrons who have come to the spa for a party.

Day drinking is in full force here, and folks are quite literally lapping it up. Scan your phone and get food and drinks delivered right to you, say the signs posted on fence posts and in seating areas. Yes, there are maximum drink rules, but who pays attention to rules when there’s no supervision? The pools were so packed with groups that one could neither relax nor rejuvenate. Drinks delivered to the hot tub? No problem. Food too? Sure. You couldn’t get near the fire pits because the same loud people (eating and drinking) sat in the chairs the entire time we were at Sensea. It felt like a frat party, or at the very least, a scene from Hot Tub Time Machine. But this wasn’t a comedy.

Those of us who frequent spas know that saunas and alcohol don’t mix. It’s a dangerous combination. That’s why most spas have a lovely spot to chill AFTER you’ve done your treatments and are truly relaxed and rejuvenated. A glass of wine or sparkling water, a plate of fruit or a sandwich - that’s the kind of spa experience we know and love the world over. That’s classy. That’s the way spas should be, imho.

The final straw came when my husband was packing up in the change room after our 2 hours there (that was plenty, all things considered). A young guy next to him opened his locker and nonchalantly popped open a bottle of booze, which he then poured into his plastic drinking cup. And off he went, back to the hot pools. When we were in the hammam, a guy entered with drinking cup in hand. Now we get it! That’s the modus operandi.

Sensea currently has no competition. They’re successful, they’re expanding (it’s a construction site these days), and yet, they don’t seem to have a sense of just how poorly their place is run. Or maybe they’re unconcerned because it’s doing so well despite the plethora of disgruntled clients.

We’re small business owners in Lunenburg County too, so writing this review is not easy. We want to support local, but we feel it’s important to be transparent so that others can manage their expectations.

Sensea Nordic Spa truly has the potential to be a magical experience, but the owners will need to dig deep to solve the ‘climate’ that’s been created in the past 2+ years.

I can not say enough about this beautiful spa. From the moment you arrive, the feeling of peace and tranquility take over.

Booking is a nightmare and virtually impossible to find a convenient date with endless checking of booking site with still no success well after a year. Waste of a gift card as unable to use it in a reasonable or convenient time frame. Apparently the business will not consider a refund for gift cards. Quite a letdown for a special gift. Definitely recommend avoiding buying gift cards and highly disappointed with lack of customer service.

Best experience of my life. We went on a rainy day and it made the whole spa even better. So many different amenities and places to go. Even when under construction this place is so relaxing and rejuvenating.

Went back and as usual never disappoints!
The heated hammocks were awesome I could’ve slept in them. So warm and cozy! They were doing construction on the facility but you forget about it since this place is like a local paradise ️️

Relaxation massage was great. I was not disturbed by any sounds and I still can’t wait for them to finish up some of the add ons. Staff friendly as always and again I just recommend them getting a bit more of a variety list for food. Truly would be 5/5 in my eyes if the food list was a bigger. Still tasty. This place never fails or disappoints

This day I went there was some forecast amazingly it was so calming and still warm enough. Pictures are of two separate occasions.

I enjoyed another amazing day with friends at Sensea a couple of weeks ago. It is honestly the best place to relax and unwind and I'm so glad that the owners have brought this amazing experience to Nova Scotia.

I totally loved it. I do wish there was a little more instruction available on the website where we were new and it felt very freestyle.
We will definitely be back now that we feel prepared!
Tip for newbies - remember your flip flops and if you bring your own robe you can save a little bit of money!

Loved the concept, look and experience at the spa. Found the customer service to be poor, and was quite frustrated that they had construction going on during the day while the spa was open. It's pretty hard to relax when theres a saw and hammering going on! It also would have been different if they had communicated that there would be construction. Otherwise, I would have really loved this spot!

We had an amazing time here! The staff are incredible, friendly attentive but also not in your face. You have time and space to chill and heat up and relax with super clean and well maintained facilities.

I was there on Tuesday, for my first time, and from the get go, the service and staff were superb. The location was beautiful and watching the sunset was one of the best parts of the experience. I had my first sauna ritual, and I highly recommend it! I will definitely be going back!

Awful experience!
I had one beer, I wanted to go outside to smoke (tobacco) and I guess because of the smell of the recently taken beer, the lady at the front desk said in a very condescending tone "it is not allowed as people go to their cars to get drunk, almost implying that I was going to. It is misleading as they have chairs and an ashtray outside.
The same lady told us to go to pod 2 to wait for our massages. We asked again a couple of times and we were told the same. As the time passed, no one came to pick us up, so we knocked and not on purpose, we interrupted someone else's massage.
We asked again and finally someone mentioned that we were in pod number 2, but in the recently built area! So we lost like 15 minutes waiting, had to run, and lost another 5 minutes of our massage. No one has a clue of anything.

A beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the hot tubs, saunas, heating hammocks and sit by a fire. It was super clean and the staff were very nice. If you can book a massage I highly recommend it. We will be returning many more times. A+

Truly terrible availability and customer service. I wanted to book a couples massage for myself and my husband, but after checking their website countless times over a period of months, they do not seem to provide this service at all, yet it remains on their website. As a consolation, I tried booking a massage for myself and a spa pass for my husband. Not once after checking for months, has there been availability for those 2 things on the same day. I finally booked the massage for myself and put my husband on a waitlist for a spa pass for that day. Of course no response at all. I tried to contact them by phone several times and get a recorded message even when asking to speak with an agent and no way to leave a message. Just a truly terrible experience start to finish. Would never try again. Do not recommend to others.

Great experience- time well spent relaxing in a beautiful spot! Will definitely be back!

First visit was today. To say that it was amazing would be an understatement. The hot tubs (I tried all) were at just the right temperature. Loved the Humman, visited multiple times. Loved the salt scrubs afterwards. Was able to attend the1: 30 ritual in the sauna. The ice and the frozen fruit was a nice touch. I look forward to going again. Only problem is that I will be most likely waiting a long time because it is just so much fun and it is just that popular.

So my husband took me on my birthday weekend to Nordic spa for a nice relaxing time. Though this place is beautiful, the staff not so much. This is my husband and my first time here so we are we NOT aware of the “rules” policies etc.we booked massages for each one of us; I was ahead of my husband. Moreover his massage was booked an hour after my massage. That being said, I wore the robe and he stayed in his clothes. As we were walking down, 2 staff women gave him death stares and started mumbling and saying “I hate when people do that”. “Goddd”. I asked my husband, are we doing something wrong? 2 of the staff members were looking at u from top to bottom. I went then for my massage then he was waiting by the fire, killing time. Apparently the same two women were putting logs in and called another employee and the employee explained to my husband that there’s a bathing suit policy. That employee was nice when he explained it but given everything, your staff made my husband feel like he was trespassing off the streets. Shameful! How are we supposed to know that if the receptionist didn’t explain this to us? The receptionist was well aware we were new. If you folks want to go ahead and put policies, go ahead but make sure to politely communicate that to ur customers rather than treating them with such zero class and being unprofessional. For a place so nicely built and thought of, there should be more professional staff. So management, I hope this gets back to you to really discipline ur staff. It was Saturday Nov 6 at 10: 30-11: 30 while this happened to be specific! Thanks

I loved the 2 different steam room options (eucalyptus and orange) with various salt scrubs available. The music would rotate between serene spa and guided meditations. The scheduled meditations in the dry sauna were incredible as well. Great layout and service. I stayed at the Mecklenburgh Inn, located just 5 min away and it was a fantastic b&b! Would highly recommend for an overnight trip.

I will admit - when my sister in law suggested we go to Sensea I was skeptical. But I was so pleasantly surprised. Spending the afternoon there was pure bliss and total relaxation. The property is simply lovely - with every little detail just perfect. The change room has a large number of lockers, adequate changing areas, a lotion bar (!) and more. Be sure to rent the thick, luxurious robes - they’re worth it. Experience the exhilaration of heat from the saunas followed by the cold water bucket. Outdoors, enjoy sitting by the fireplace, curl up in the heated hammocks, or enjoy the hot and cold pools. I left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed and will definitely be back!

Incredible experience at Sensea Nordic Spa today! I started off in the saunas, then made my way to the hot tubs. Can’t forget the steam rooms! Finished off with a relaxation massage with Rebekah and it was amazing!

The scenery is to die for and the staff were so friendly!

I recommend visiting Sensea Nordic Spa in Chester in the cooler months of the year. I started going in October and go every month with my sister. Their spa is clean, friendly, relaxing, rejuvenating. I always rent a bath robe and bring my own sandals. I just had my first facial treatment done and it was simply amazing! I can not wait till they start selling their products such as their skin line care products, and salt scrubs! I also can’t wait for their cocoons to open up! Such an amazing gem in Nova Scotia!

I went for a few hours in the evening and couldn’t get enough. The whole experience is so immersive and relaxing, your whole body and mind will thank you. My favourite was the steam rooms and salt rubs, but all of the saunas, and salt water pools were an incredible experience. I highly recommend you go for as long as possible!

It was so amazing.it was a Christmas present from my son and dauhghter in law. She booked the app.and to our surprise it snowed but yet was a beautiful night with moon and stars and all the sparkling white lights around us. All the workers were amazing, I had Jacqueline and Sarah and they were so kind, and sweet and made you feel at home. I will be back for sure. I also got to meet the owners, such wonderful folks.

First time there and I had an amazing experience. Such a relaxing place. Being immersed in nature, the smells of essential oils, relaxing baths and saunas; It awakes all of your senses. It’s very grounding and I will definitely be back! I enjoyed the hot- cold - relax cycle (I’ve never gone from hot to cold) it’s invigorating, and the Russian Sauna. Well set up and very clean!

If you need a day to feel refreshed physically and mentally, this is your spot. I went uncertain what to expect, and left feeling so relaxed! Went with my friend and we literally Cannot wait to be back, their staff is so great and accommodating!

This is a must go! A hidden gem just outside of Chester. It has so many amenities and the staff are so so wonderful. You will leave feeling relaxed and clear headed from being in nature. Also to mention the prices are very reasonable for all the services and food! This was my third time going to sensea yesterday and I had just as much fun as I did the first time I went.

Went in early November with a friend. Beautiful ambience, great service, peaceful, and overall, a perfect way to relax & unwind. A must-go-to!

This place is magical! Located not far off Highway 103, tucked into the woods, you will be amazed with Nova Scotia's first Nordic Spa. Choose between dry saunas and wet saunas (with essential oils) and salt scrubs, and a barrel sauna. Relax in hammocks, Adirondack chairs by fire pits, and quiet spots thought the property. Heat up or cool down in hot pools and the cold pools, one with a waterfall feature. Massage therapy offered onsite by pre-booking. Grab a snack or a drink in the yurt next to the pools and relax on the deck overlooking the lake. When you hear the gong every hour, I recommend going to the dry sauna near the change room yurts for an incredible sauna ritual filled with essential oils.trust me - this was the highlight of my visit! Lots of lockers, showers, and plenty of towels available. Water stations located throughout the property; bathrooms located in the change room yurts. Rent a robe - so cozy and worth it! Definitely plan to stay 3-4 hours.and remember to whisper wherever you are on the grounds. I can't wait to go back again!

I loved this place so much! It was beyond my expectation. The whole place is designed to be relaxing. It was a perfect choice for me to relieve my stress. I told my friends that I could go every weekend. I love that much:)

Travelled from PEI for a girls day and loved every minute of it. This is an absolutely beautiful location, extremely friendly staff, and was exactly what I needed. I will definately be back!

Unbelievably relaxing and luxurious! The entire place smells heavenly, and it's so cozy. We went at night when the pools and trees are lit up. It was beautiful I highly recommend attending one of the rituals they perform in the sauna. We will definitely be back!

I had a hot stone massage from Hilary, which was excellent. The whole experience was very relaxing. Areas of the spa are designated either whisper or quiet zones, so it's very calming. The orange essential oil infused steam room with the salt scrub afterwards was my favourite. They would be even better if they improved their food choices.

Fabulous experience and amazing towel ritual. Staff are lovely and the set up is rustic, elegant and covid mask friendly. I cant wait to go again!

First time there yesterday. My favorite part was the sauna with the essential oils and towel movement. It felt like heaven. Everyone was nice friendly. I slept like the dead last night. It was amazing. For sure going back!

My only wish is that they had larger robes for us plus size gals.
