We stayed here during our short trip to Halifax. It was a nice place to camp due to its proximity to downtown as well as its proximity to stores. The beach is quite lovely and the trails surrounding it are beautiful. Sites were a little small, but we were only there to sleep mainly, so wasn’t a big deal for us. Washrooms were somewhat outdated but clean. Note when you go that there is a code to get in to the washrooms on the paper you receive. We didn’t realize it at first and ran into others who also didn’t know - so be sure to read the info they give you when you arrive:).

Overall good experience. We didn't like our initial site and staff allowed us to pick another without hassle! Bathrooms were decent with really nice showers for a little camp area! Showers cost a loonie for about 4min, so if you're fast it's just a buck! Good location to branch out from!

It was a nice place to stay. Friendly. Busy site but was good.
Public beach lots of cycling trails and hiking next to. Beautiful kayaking.

My wife and I stopped on our way through and the staff were great! We arrived super late so the staff left us a detailed note to make sure we got in ok and found our way around. Bathrooms are a good size and were very clean. Showers are much the same. Geographically the camp ground is a little tight, but that’s no problem for us! I’d definitely stay again.

We stayed for 3 nights so that we could ride our bicycles easily into Dartmouth and Halifax. The campground is clean and they enforce “quiet time” after 11pm. The park office closes at 7pm and opens at 8: 30am. This can be frustrating when looking for ice or fire wood. There is almost no privacy for any sites or protection from the sun. The park is quiet. Bathrooms are dated but are cleaned regularly. Showers cost $1 for 4 minutes. Cycling/hiking trails come right to the campground. It was a great location for cyclists. Access to the city and ferries is about 20 minutes by bicycle. We would definitely stay there again but we’d want a better site than a sloped grade.

Not a bad campground, but amenities/facilities are lacking. No coin machine for the laundry, only two functional washing machines, one bathroom, expensive showers, etc. There is also very little privacy between sites. FYI, the HWY is also RIGHT beside the campground, so it is quite noisy. It’s close to the city so that’s about the only plus.

Updated to add: however, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We made a mistake in our reservation and they were able to help us with it.

Amazing service. We arrived late with no reservations and they still went out of their way to accommodate us. Would love to go back. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.

Not very friendly staff, didn’t have enough fire pits or key cards for us. Bathrooms aren’t clean and the sites are tightly packed together with no privacy

We had been to many campgrounds before. However, I can say Shubie is the best! This is the only campground without mosquitoes! The staffs are very nice and helpful. Although we arrived late and their office was closed, they prepared all the access facilities and guides for us to stay there. Drinkable water can be found everywhere.

Last weekend, my son and I had a great experience.

The booking of Shubie campground was quick and easy. I phoned to confirm our spot the week before and the person on the phone was helpful and welcoming.

This is a campsite I was allowed to take my dog, which made it very exclusive for our family. Checking in was quick and easy and they had useful supplies I was able to purchase at a great price.

The campsite was extremely clean and more than big enough for us. To my surprise, the firepit was different and I loved it. It was almost like a grill. I was able to sit a tray of food on top and saw others doing skewers which was a very nice idea. The nearby campers were very friendly.

This campground is close to a lake where you can swim and fish. If you want to kayak, there's a spot for that. There is also an on leash/off leash dog park nearby to explore and allow the dogs to swim. For smaller children, there is a playground nearby.

The ONLY thing that would have been helpful for myself would be to have electric on our site. It did not change the fact though, that we will be back and always recommend!

Awesome campground. Staff were Amazing and so helpful. Beach is sandy and a quite creek of serenity for kayaking/paddleboarding. Washrooms/showers were Very clean. If we ever come back to NS, Shubie will be our home base for Halifax for sure.

I recently stayed at Shubie campground for two months and I had a great time. The staff is super friendly and always helpful. Kay the manager was very accommodating for my needs. The grounds are always well maintained. There are plenty of trails to explore and much to do there. I will definitely be staying there again next summer!

Personnel accueillant. Ne pas hésiter à y aller

Campground is clean and well cared for. The amenities were nice and clean. Staff are warm and friendly. The campground is located very close to downtown Halifax and there is a bus route and a ferry that can get you there. The staff explained how to get to downtown Dartmouth and Halifax and I had a great day in the city. It's super great to have a campground so close to the city.

What a great place! There's a city bus into Halifax from the gate, yet it's a quiet, grassy campground right on a lake! Clean washrooms, a nice playground. The perfect first stop if you've just picked up an RV from CanaDream.

I have to say I'm so surprised to have found this Campground so close to Halifax and Dartmouth Crossing and can confirm all the other positive reviews are spot on. This is a very well cared for facility and the staff are super friendly. We stayed on a tent site, the ground was flat soft grass. We had a decent wifi signal right from our site to get caught up on the goings on during our stay. If your on the go in the area and want a place to stay you won't be disappointed! Location location location! We will definitely be back!

Beau petit camping.

This was a super tidy and CLEAN campground in Dartmouth. Park is adjacent to a fabulous walking/biking trail system through the woods along lake shores and next to a historic lock system. Very convenient to the downtown and ferry to Halifax. Walking distance to a fabulous restaurant and brewery.

Absolutely great people and having a park adjacent with an off leash area for the dogs was an absolute lifesaver! Highly recommend this Campground, full service lots and like I said, awesome staff!

We just spent our 1st weekend camping trip of the year here, early june. It was pristinely clean, the staff were over accommodating and so nice. The beach (with sand) is beautiful. The sites for tents were a bit close together for my liking but will definitely be back.
