Smugglers Cove Inn

Service ok, friendly. House keeping needs major work.
Full Mascara eye print on comforter,
2 dirty stained pillows,
Stained bed sheets,
"Brown" staines on bath towels.
Seems as if nothing is washed just maybe air dried to make it fluff again if that.
Would not recommend staying just solely on the cleanliness.
Brought up the concerns and all I got was a "oh sorry" and " what room".
King size bed is just 2 twins together which is not very comfortable with a groove in the middle.

Best described as a bunkhouse. Standards of hygiene low, dirty floors, worn out "grey" bedding and towels.
First room offered lacked natural light, great township.

I did not realized this hotel was pet-friendly. My friends and I checked in at their biggest room with the water view. We were tired and it was pouring hard outside that day and the last thing we needed was fur on our clothes, sofa, and bed. When we asked help from the front desk, he simply said that the previous customer had a small dog. If they missed so much pet fur from the previous customer, it made us wonder how thoroughly they clean their rooms. At first he only wanted to change the top duvet cover and to give us lint rollers (for our clothes or for the sofa?). Kinda strange and to think we almost paid 400$ for one night. One of us was allergic to per dander so we had to ask for a new room. Got a mumble of an apology from staff but otherwise no further acknowledgement of the incident. Just be weary if you have allergies.

Great location. Staff was helpful and very nice. Rooms are fine considering how little time we spent there. Nice little balcony to have coffee on.

Very friendly staff with lots of stories to tell. Nice cozy breakfast with a great location to everything you need in Lunenburg. It is family ran so don't expect things from a chain hotel. Relax and enjoy the uniqueness.

This hotel really exemplified our Nova Scotia trip. Friendly, warm and welcoming owners, service that went above and beyond, and so many stories! The room itself was basic, extremely clean, and well equipped. The service was beyond excellent. The hotel is ideally located in Lunenburg and we were able to explore the old town on foot all day.

It is a very nice hotel, very clean, super friendly people and excellent location. I was very impressed as it is an old building but very well maintained. I will definitely go back if I visit the town again.

My wife and I recently stayed at Smuggler’s Cove Inn on our trip through the Maritimes. When we arrived, we were pleasantly and enthusiastically greeted by the owners who helped us check-in. They were very helpful in informing us the best places to check out and eat in Lunenburg. The room had all required necessities, hot water was readily available, and our stay was comfortable. Additionally, they are located right along the Main Street, within walking distance to the waterfront and restaurants. We would definitely stay again!
