Sobeys Penhorn

Enjoyed the experience, was looking for a few groceries and Halloween candies. Found everything I needed.

This is a nice gathering of stores in this particular area albeit it not completely functional. It could definitely be improved with a few new and different stores to make it as complete as possible, a one stop shop area but its not quite there. I do miss the physical mall and it's fantastic air conditioning in the summer but with Fungalitious (Covid) everywhere this set up is much better. 4 stars but could definitely be 5 with a few additional options/stores. They're doing parking lot renovations currently (Oct 2023) but it's not too much of a problem.

I like the layout of the store they have everything there that I need and alot more it a easy store to shop because of the layout the staff are friendly and helpful I might make this my store to do all my grocery shopping.

Not too bad of a location. Its covid19 days still so shopping isn't the most interesting thing to do right now, but store was clean and staff were somewhat friendly, nothing special to write about to be honest. Prices were the same price as superstore with a few things being a tad bit cheaper. Paper bags are a pain in the butt and the recycling bags are just as bad.
Missing a lot of usual products which means ill have to make more than one trip or do online shopping at Superstore.

Been going here for years. No complaints. Place is always stocked and clean. The produce and meat also very fresh. Prices are reasonable. The staff have been all great to deal with. Keep up the great work!

I like this sobeys it reminds me of the old Russell lake sobeys before the transformation

I like the shopping environment, loose and quiet. Quality of goods in a comfortable shopping environment, the feeling of quality will be better.will also be a little more expensive.

Clean and with lot of parking space. Not a 5 star as missing an item on the flyer but not even delivered to the store.

The prices are outrageous! I find myself angry while shopping and choosing less items.
I also have been exploring other options.

Always found the service they’re slow went there tonight on my way to grab some thing and the website has changed the hours looking at the store fronts until an employee walk and said yeah we just change the hour sorry about that

I went to redeem my fast fuel coupon and the cashier said that because my coupon is more than the value of the item I purchased, I can't use it. Well I read the policy on this and it doesn't say this is a rule. I understand not getting change back and that's okay, but not being able to use it was unfair.

Update: Arrows are gone and shopping is returning to normal.

We've been living near this Sobeys for three months now. I know where everything is now just a little frustrated with the direction arrows but understand why they are necessary. Very clean and bright.

This is a great Sobeys store. It is smaller than some but it is always easy to get in and out without much wait time.

It's an alright Sobeys. Prices aren't very good in comparison to Superstore and the like. In my experience staff are not very friendly bordering on rude at times.

It was most unsatisfactory, we were there around 0900 hrs, the store opens @ 0700, the store was not ready, many empty shelves, ended up going to Superstore and buying the majority of my weekly groceries!
The emptiness of the shelves reminded me of a store that had a massive sale the day before and hadn't had a chance to restock.
I've been a Sobeys customer for the better part of 40 years and I've not seen this before.

A well kept store with friendly staff but I wish that some of the cashiers were a little more quicker at their job.

I went to Penhorn flea market as a younger kid when it was a mall. Im 35 now and over the last number of years I heard that Penhorn was having problems and I see why. When the mall was there there were only about eight not very good stores (souvenirs) and just the Sears otherwise and maybe the Sobeys. I went back to reinvestigate it once or twice as I drive past Penhorn a lot in Dartmouth. I was impressed at how refurbished and good that Sobeys is. As a matter of fact it may play a role in the refurbishment of the whole plaza. The shop indicates Penhorn can be improved and revitalized as a plaza. In fact it would be great and this is a step, as the area has some character I have always found when going there. Good to see this development. I may revisit again as its near the bottle exchange where I take the cans and bottles every week or so
